In reply to: Font size increase in Groups descriptionthis is the original CSS of the group description: (bp-templates/bp-legacy/buddypress/css/buddypress.css)
#buddypress div#item-header div#item-meta { font-size: 80%; color: #aaa; overflow: hidden; margin: 15px 0 5px 0; padding-bottom: 10px; }By default (for security reason), the group description field is filtered and doesn’t accept any html tags.
You have 2 solutions:
Only the site admin can create groups, and you can evtl. remove the filter.
Users are allowed to create groups and in this case, you let the filter active and you modify the CSS.Add to your child theme:
#buddypress div#item-header div#item-meta { font-size: 100% !important; /*or any other size*/ }Filter : see bp_groups_filter_kses function in bp-groups/bp-groups-filters.php

Sorry for this inconvenient, but old topics are closed. And jumping into them is not best practice anyway.
In reply to: [Resolved] @mentions suggestions panel doesn't openhave you tested your install with 2013 theme ?
If this doesn’t help, you have also to test wp+bp+2013 without other plugins, and if exist, without custom function in bp-custom, mu-plugins, etc….In reply to: [Resolved] Full Width Layout with "Reddle"-themenGlad you got it !
In reply to: [Resolved] Full Width Layout with "Reddle"-themenI answered to this question:
Should it be ‘function.php’ [singular] or ‘functions.php’ [plural]?In reply to: Creating a new profile -“field type”Don’t ask if you don’t understand the answers.
Writing Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus in italic is a choice which i won’t discuss…
There is no text editor for form fields. This doesn’t exist. Or give the url if you know one.
The only way to get this in italic is to use CSS. Punkt.
In reply to: [Resolved] Full Width Layout with "Reddle"-themenPlease, make an effort to read more carefully the answers you receive and avoid asking for the same thing in multiple topics ! 👿
@mercime: functions
The file name is functions.php
In reply to: Issue with w3 Total CacheThank you for reporting this !

https://buddypress.org/support/tag/avatars/In reply to: Members Listwp+bp+bbp = 3 register possibilities, but only one register scenario. So it has no effect on from where the users registered. All are in the same table: wp_users.
Now, what you can try, is:
– activate (if not already done) profile syncing in BP settings
– check permalinks settings and resave the page (even if you mane no change to it) – this will recalculate all site urls
– using the repair tools. Dashboar > Tools and follow the instructionsIn reply to: Home Activity ScreenProblems with activity stream ?
Please read here:
Changes to bp_has_activities() queries in BP 2.1In reply to: Creating a new profile -“field type”No, not without heavy core hacking. You have to find another solution for the edit part. Probably “near” profiles, but not “on” profiles.
Some hints here.
In reply to: Field name not displayed in Registration formHave you tested without the plugin ? It’s important to test first BP as standalone plugin. Once you’re sure evrything is correct, you can activate additionnal plugins.
In this case, when something goes wrong, you are sure that it is related to the new plugin.
In reply to: How to @ mentionbp-default is on the way to be removed from BP to became a independant theme…. No idea how and when, but if you want that issue be solved, thought you have to open a ticket on Trac.
Concerning any child-theme user:
BP 2.1 use CSS minifying, so if you use a buddypress.css file within your child, you have to rename this file buddypress.min.css or better, you minify really that file (eg. online tinyfier)
By doing so, you’ll prevent some site parts to be incorrectly displayed. And perhaps help some scripts to run the right way after 2.1 update.

https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/5888In reply to: Home Activity ScreenYou named the culprit: I am using wp 4.0 and bp 2.1 with buddypress default theme.
bp-default is somehow retired since BP 1.9 and is in for backwards compatibility only.
Give a try to 2014 theme and see if this solve your issue.
In reply to: Creating a new profile -“field type”Maybe nice, but it’s a commonly admited bad idea to let users style your site.
If you want italics for some field title, you can do that by CSS.As stated by Boone for BP 2.1
Extra CSS classes have been added to Profile Field visibility field elements, allowing greater CSS customization. For more indeep customization, consider this plugin (thought needs a good coding level)
In reply to: Field name not displayed in Registration formBP version and theme name please.
Are you able to create a new field in another group as “Base” ?
Also, have you saved your change ?https://codex.buddypress.org/buddypress-components-and-features/extended-profiles/
In reply to: Custom member profile headerplease use the code button when you publish code in a topic. Thxs.
In reply to: Creating a new profile -“field type”In reply to: Private forum post in public activity streamI’m pretty sure that since BP 1.9 such issues won’t happen (on a correctly configured install).
Private forums are…private and a topic posted in a private forum isn’t shown on the SWA. You can only see such an activity if you’re the author of the post (within (profile > activity) or on the private group.
To be clear, you’re asking
Is there any way to hide activity in private forums from activity stream?
and cite as example an old post titled
Private group posts appearing in Activity Stream to non-members.Hum ? It isn’t the same context i guess. 😉
Do you want to hide private group activities or do you want to eliminate a wrong behaviour, like the second question relates to ?In reply to: Styling BuddyPresswhich is the theme you use ?
