    Hi,

    you could use the dedicated filter for buttons bp_get_add_friend_button to do this. In addition you need to add an ajax refresh.

    This will only work on the group members template, but you have to refresh the page (sorry, i’m not good in js). Add it to bp-custom.php.

    function tweak_button ( $button ) {

    	if ( class_exists( 'BP_Group_Extension' ) ) :

    	$group = groups_get_current_group();

    	if( !empty( $group ) )

    	switch ( $button['id'] ) {
    		case 'pending' :
    			$button['link_title'] = '';
    		break;

    		case 'is_friend' :
    			$button['link_title'] = '';
    		break;

    	default:
    		$button['link_title'] = '';
    	}

    	return $button;
    	endif;
    }
    add_filter( 'bp_get_add_friend_button', 'tweak_button', 1, 1 );

    Get in touch with the chinese translation team:

    Translation Teams

    You don’t need to download GlotPress, you can translate BP online. Just go to https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp-plugins/buddypress/stable/zh-cn/default and log-in.

    And read the translators handbook to learn more about translating WordPress, plugins and themes.

    If you prefer to read in chinese, see here: https://cn.wordpress.org/

    Yes and no.

    Yes because it is the minimum of php you need to create such a link.

    No, because that code should probably be in a function. But i’m unable to tell you more as you haven’t explained where exactly you want that link to be. On a page is too vague…

    Yes, copy/paste, no matter where in that file.

    Hi,

    buddypress.org use BuddyPress and bbPress plugin for the forum part (with some BP Ninja’s customization).

    But note that BP activity comments are not forum topics – even if both may “look” like a discussion tread.

    To get a similar behave, install bbPress as sitewide forum.

    or to get a more indeep integration with your community members, use BP (member) groups and install a forum in some groups. By doing it this way, you can have thematic discussion groups, where not only the discussion is thematic, but where also the participant are sorted.

    In other words, an “ordinary” forum can be categorized. With BuddyPress, a forum can be categorized, but members can be grouped, related to the group they belong to (is the group has a forum of course).

    Note also that many BP user’s don’t use a group forum because group members can discuss via the group activity. This is very common, but only if you don’t care about forum fonctionnalities like sub-forums, moderation, spam/ham or rich edit for example.

    Hi,

    two snippets to remove profile and group items.

    function bpex_hide_profile_menu_tabs() {

    	if( bp_is_active( 'xprofile' ) ) :

    	if ( bp_is_user() && !is_super_admin() && !bp_is_my_profile() ) {
    	//	BP's profile main menu items. Comment those to show.
    	//	bp_core_remove_nav_item( 'activity' );
    		bp_core_remove_nav_item( 'profile' );
    		bp_core_remove_nav_item( 'friends' );
    		bp_core_remove_nav_item( 'groups' );
    	//	exist only if you use bbPress
    		bp_core_remove_nav_item( 'forums' );

    	//	BP's profile main menu items. Comment those to show.
    	//	bp_core_remove_subnav_item( 'activity', 'personnal' );
    		bp_core_remove_subnav_item( 'activity', 'mentions' );
    		bp_core_remove_subnav_item( 'activity', 'favorites' );
    		bp_core_remove_subnav_item( 'activity', 'friends' );
    		bp_core_remove_subnav_item( 'activity', 'groups' );
    	}
    	endif;
    }
    add_action( 'bp_setup_nav', 'bpex_hide_profile_menu_tabs', 15 );

    function bpex_remove_group_tabs() {

    	if ( ! bp_is_group() ) {
    		return;
    	}

    	$slug = bp_get_current_group_slug();

    		// hide items to all users except site admin
    	if ( !is_super_admin() ) {

    	//	bp_core_remove_subnav_item( $slug, 'members' );
    		bp_core_remove_subnav_item( $slug, 'send-invites' );
    	//	bp_core_remove_subnav_item( $slug, 'admin' );
    	//	bp_core_remove_subnav_item( $slug, 'forum' );
    	}

    }
    add_action( 'bp_actions', 'bpex_remove_group_tabs' );

    Have you tried to adjust the size via child theme’s CSS ?
    Some examples here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/custom-css-media-queries/

    Hi,
    something like this may work:

    if ( is_user_logged_in() || bp_is_active( 'friends' ) ) :
        $href = bp_loggedin_user_domain() . bp_get_friends_slug() . '/';
        endif;
      echo '<a href='. $href .'><img src="path/to/img.jpg" alt="" /></a>';

    Create something on a sub-blog and see if the activity comes up. The feed is not updated if you change something in your settings. It’s only updated when you publish something new.

    Sorry if this is not clear to you: i can’t explain better.

    Posts, comments, or activities of the users in sites other than where you activated BuddyPress won’t be recorded in the Activity Streams when you install BuddyPress in only one site of the network.

    BP should be activated on the main site where WP is installed, if you want the whole blogs activities.

    your-site/ here is WP declared as network
    sub-blog1/your-site/
    su-blog2/your-site/ you activated BP on this secondary blog. OK fine, but it’s a sub-blog and BP will only show the activity of that sub-blog.
    sub-blog1/your-site/
    etc…

    dashboard > BuddyPress > settings > options > Main Settings and check
    Toolbar [] Show the Toolbar for logged out users

    If it still doesn’t work, check your theme settings.
    You could also test with Twenty Sixteen and see if there is a difference.

    May be a forgotten custom function in child theme or bp-custom.php ? May be a role or a membership plugin ? Who knows ?
    You have to debug !

    After chat disruption and sudden 404 errors on all pages, let’s continue here.

    All your groups are listed here: http://thebettinguniversity.org/groups/

    Most are private and the 2 i found which are public have only one member: the group admin.

    I you’re the site admin, you can access to these groups.
    If you’re only a group admin, you can only access the group you’re a member/admin of.
    You must be logged-in to get access, whatever your status.

    For more information about groups, read the codex please.

    Groups

    Seems also that you have no member page.
    Go to BP settings and check that there is a page for members, a page for group, a page for register and one for activation.

    Check here:

    Configure BuddyPress

    Go to a group. Click on Manage Group. Click sub menu Members. Now you’re on the group members list from where you can promote them. Note that on front-end, only site admin or group admin can do that.

    Or when in backend as site admin, click Groups. Click a group name. At the bottom of that group admin page you’ll see the group members list. If you see nothing, that group has no members yet. You can add some from there. In regard of each group member you have a select box from where you can take different actions too.

    There is no compression feature in WP or BP. If the source file is 72 dpi, the cropped img is still in 72 px. And 72 dpi is even a poor resolution (equivalent to a 70% compressed jpeg format).

    Read again what i wrote previously.

    @intothemythica,

    guess you have to follow instructions belonging to the actual WP/BP version… Haven’t you seen this notice ?
    ***The following pertains to administrators using WordPress 3.0 in network mode)***

    BP should be on the same site where WP is installed.

    Follow Codex from here and note that:

    One site of the Network

    C. BuddyPress Activated in Main Site only
    D. BuddyPress Activated in Secondary Site only
    Posts, comments, or activities of the users in sites other than where you activated BuddyPress won’t be recorded in the Activity Streams when you install BuddyPress in only one site of the network.

    Activate wp_debug in wp-config.
    Navigation slightly changed in BP 2.6 so it could be possible that you have a little issue with bp_nav and bp_nav_options

    @danbp

    @skitzpress,

    Why is your WP not updated ? Any particular reason ?
    No plugins ?
    No custom functions ?
    Have you tested with a twenty theme and after deactivating all plugins ?
    Do you see php errors when wp_debug is activated in wp-config ?

    Add this snippet to bp-custom.php and comment/remove what you don’t need

    function bpex_admin_bar_remove() {
    global $wp_admin_bar;

    	// Remove the whole WP logo menu
    //	$wp_admin_bar->remove_node( 'wp-logo' );

    	// remove only About BuddyPress
    	$wp_admin_bar->remove_node( 'bp-about' );

    	// remove only About bbPress
    //	$wp_admin_bar->remove_node( 'bbp-about' );

    }
    add_action( 'wp_before_admin_bar_render', 'bpex_admin_bar_remove' );
