In reply to: [This group does not have a forum setup yet] error
Go to dashboard Pages > All Pages and check what pages are listed there. Do you have “Activity” “Groups” “Members” etc?
Go to admin dashboard menu Settings > Permalinks and choose permalink other than default and Save Changes.
Go to dashboard menu Appearance > Themes and choose the BP Default theme.
Are you on Windows or Linux server?
In reply to: Changing HTML in current theme – WP Church ThemeThe pastebin for footer.php is blank and the pastebin for sidebar.php looks incomplete.
Initial scan shows that you’d have to use the first method of Step 3 i.e. changing 16 files transferred to your WP theme, and that it’s going to be a bit complicated. It may or may not work on the first try and at a certain point I might have to tell you that you’d need to contact theme author to help you check/correct what I’ve posted here. Now we’re done with the disclaimer
do post the footer.php and sidebar.php in pastebin.comIn reply to: Why can you not post in your own member areaPlease be patient as all those will be addressed. In the meantime, you can use Google to search our site e.g. “BuddyPress.org bollocks187 keywords”. Thanks.

Open up the header.php of your wp-church theme file and copy all. Go to pastebin.com and paste what you copied, click submit and post the generated URL here. Do the same for your index.php, page.php, sidebar.php and footer.phpIn reply to: Delicate ThemeTo make your WP theme, Delicate, compatible with BuddyPress, you need to install and activate the BP Template Pack plugin then go through the BP compatibility process https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/wordpress-to-buddypress-theme/
In reply to: Mentions not working from the notifications bar….WP/BP versions? It looks more like a plugin or BP theme which needs to be updated. First, change to bp-default theme and see if behavior is corrected. If that doesn’t work, try deactivating plugins to isolate whether the issue is with BuddyPress, BP configurations in dashboard or your with third-party add-ons.
In reply to: New Install, Several Mysterious Issues (usability)The BP Template Pack plugin makes your WP theme compatible with BuddyPress. Looks like you still need to go through Step 3 of the BP compatibility process. Check out links to walkthroughs at the bottom of this page https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/wordpress-to-buddypress-theme/
== I’m not able to remove the old BP template pack files through FTP or on the server side ==
This is a strange and serious issue which you need to take care of. First time I’ve heard it happen on dedicated server. In reply to: Missing Pages?Have you changed to bp-default theme, cleared cache, and see if error is corrected?
Yes. We’re moving to full integration with WP Toolbar nee adminbar in BP 1.6 if not earlier.
In fact, BP buddybar and WP adminbar are fully integrated in BP Trunk already https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/browser/trunk
In reply to: Error with Forum BP v1.2.5.2@inweb thank you for sharing your solution to current WP 3.3 and BP 1.5.2 forums. However, this thread is more than a year old and solution was different. Closing this thread.
In reply to: Buddypress Forums & Group Forums Not Working@tjherman
== Says it’s already installed. Is there another solution I’m missing? ==
Go to Settings > Forums and check the Archives Base, if you have group forums running change the slug from “forums” to something else e.g. sitewide-forums or discussions@zaphod_b are you trying to install sitewide forums?
In reply to: where is bp-themes?== it gets stuck at the step where it says that I have to manually upload to …/bp-themes. ==
This means that for some reason, you server prevented the automatic transfer of the required BP folders into the folder of your activated WP theme.1. Download a copy of BuddyPress to your computer hard drive – https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress/
2. Unzip, and upload the following folders from the BuddyPress folder to your server’s wp-content/themes/name-of-your-WP-theme via FTP/cpanel/FileManager:
– activity
– blogs (if you’re on multisite)
– forums
– groups
– members
– registration3. Proceed with Step 3 of the BP Compatibility Process
In reply to: a single interface for all posting on a siteIn reply to: Buddypress dot org’s own forums not workingIn reply to: How can I…In reply to: Missing Pages?I suspect the theme you purchased might not have been upgraded for WP 3.3 and BuddyPress 1.5.2 and those are issues you have to bring to the theme author. /they should provide free support for their premium themes.
In reply to: [Resolved] Notifications errorYou’re welcome. Marking this as resolved then.
In reply to: cannot edit header.php== when I copied the header.php file over to my new theme’s folder and attempted to edit it in the appearance editor I received this message- “Sorry, that file cannot be edited.” ==
It’s a known issue – https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/16744== I’m wondering if it would just be easier to edit the header.php file from my computer rather than the Buddypress dashboard and reupload every time I make a change? ==
That’s the way to do it.In reply to: Users can´t update profileNotes accumulated on this issue, so far:
– happens to sites hosted on IIS server – resolved by a) moving Linux server; b) re-uploading BuddyPress plugin folder manually
– happens when username has space/s between – resolved by removing spaces in username in database and installing restrict username plugin
– happens to old themes which need to be updated – resolved by changing to bp-default theme or an updated BP child theme or BP-compatible theme
– happens when one disables extended profiles – resolved by enabling extended profilesIn reply to: Getting StartedCreating a network whether in subdomain or subdirectory structure won’t affect your permalinks per se. As per https://codex.wordpress.org/Create_A_Network it’s how your subsites’ URL’s will show up online. Remember, these are virtual subdomains, i.e., even with a network subdomain set up like http://subsite1.mysite.com, it will be set up in server with folder structure wp-content/blogs.dir/2/files/year-etc. unlike that of physical subdomains /subsite1.mysite.com/
Network title is the title of Main site. As for subsites in subdomain/subdirectory it will be what you title each one and the default description would be something like “Just another [title of main site] site.”
For more assistance re multisite installations, please post at the WP multisite forums https://wordpress.org/support/forum/multisite
In reply to: Fatal error: Allowed memory sizeIn reply to: Profile – Edit – Not WorkingYou can search via Google as in “BuddyPress.org yourKeywords”
What theme are you using? If you change to bp-default theme and clear cache, is the issue corrected?
Is this issue happening in all members’ profile edit pages or only those who have space/s in their usernames?
@DianaNemorensis you must have fixed this already. I see the whole page and all pages look normal in your site.
In reply to: 404 error on Link to Group Forum Topic== All links on the site work EXCEPT post links. Any post in the forum does not work and produces a 404 error. ==
Which forum – the group forums or the sitewide forums?
