or discourage the ones who like to type their own way…
i think that feature could be a plugin, no real need to add more javascript to the core… *(2¢ here)
In reply to: BuddyPress-Links 0.3 FINAL is here at lasti like the tool, i’m ready to invest a little in it… Marshall, tell me…

i read that you want to mimic the way we can add links to the facebook activity… if i may… i hate how facebook deal with links, as sometimes it work, some times it wont… when we post a link in a comment or our feed it interact differently, and i’d like to see a different technique.
also, when we provide a new link, if we have nothing in the description we have the alert to fill all fields… could we avoid this, as the description may not suite all needs?? like for each category, enable force description?
would be illogical from Andy to branch WP… he is with Automattic, and i don’t think the company would appreciate spreaded work.
btw, i think that with WP 3.0 and BP 1.3, we will see a better merge of usability, and yet, we wait to see if Andy will generate a front-end posting template — which would make everybody happy!
In reply to: Alternate Stylesheets for different sectionsfor each css element you modify, you have to put it with the ” !important ” tag, because the core css have it, and you can not override without it too…
In reply to: Front End Blog Posting+1
minimizing the backend usage is great… but is more into WordPress … a quickpost page could be great, someone released a version for 1.1…
In reply to: Privacy+2
… for privacy but also for user-friendly structure for it…
In reply to: Indexation of contentit is not the goal of BP, but in its realm, yes… because WPMU itself is not goaled to shared among blogs, when BP is… to create a community is to share.
In reply to: how to get to site admin/dashboardtop of the page, in the navbar, “My Blogs”… select the main blog, and you will have a link to the dashboard

In reply to: Welcome Pack enabled but doesn’t seem to worki need a .pot here, translation in french !!!
In reply to: Can we upgrade BP 1.2 RC to 1.2 release?yeap, that’s all you have to do.. did you read the announcement?
In reply to: Use Forums without Groups?@Cyndy, nope actually, as we’re refering to creation, not usage…
btw, i bumped an old thread related to that exact situation, i know there was a plugin version for 1.1 that was doing that exact thing…
In reply to: Limit Blog Creation to Adminsjust to be sure, someone can update this thread with a final solution??? right now it’s a mess, and i think people would like to know the plugin that lock others than admins to create groups or forums or blogs etc…
In reply to: Use Forums without Groups?the other solution is to block others to create groups, and you as admin create as much groups as needed, with a forum for each, and disable all other features from it.
groups help subscribe to a forum, so people can participate freely and subscribe to receive news from it.
In reply to: Lots of new features (Direction / Guidance)what would be the usage for your identifiers, because that concept is really vague without details…
In reply to: Lots of new features (Direction / Guidance)from the list you did, i can tell that other developers already released solutions for each of them, mostly… you will need to look at some others sites before starting coding… you may find good inspiration from others…
In reply to: Buddymatic Theme and BuddyPressyour best shot will be at their official website, not here…
i can report that, the remove action in “init” are not working, taken too far in the process i suppose, but they are not working. btw, wouldn’t it be more logical to move that action to a wp_head or something?
In reply to: how to query the categories of posts?yeah, thanks Ray, i found out by retrograding the the_category() function…
In reply to: Nothing appearing under “My Blogs”IF: >> wp-admin >> Site Admin >> Options >> Allow new registrations >> Only user account can be created
is chosen, you can not have blogs, the logic stand… this is a little flaw in WPMU, not buddypress… this will be corrected with WP3.0
In reply to: Redirect to Registration Page [“Plugin”]@Wilbrot, you have the example of a well managed community…
In reply to: Redirect to Registration Page [“Plugin”]btw, your plugin here would redirect anybody in any situation to the registration page,… even google etc… i’m not sure this logic is good… let people browse your site, they will register if they see fit.
