In reply to: display profile navigarion in member directory
I’m not sure what you mean. The members directory already has links to each members profile, presumably you don’t mean this?
In reply to: BuddyPress plugin to create graphsThe group members list already shows a list of all members with links to their profiles.
Don’t know about any plugin providing a graph of user signups though. You could probably write a plugin to do that but it’s likely to get complicated depending on how you want to do it.
In reply to: update problemIf you have FTP access, you can rename the plugs/buddypress directory to something else, this will stop BuddyPress from loading and that should get you working. If that works you will then need to work out why it failed, but I guess it’s one step at a time.
In reply to: Broken HTML on Activation Page?I think this is related to this bug report:
https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/7923
A number of html outputs were escaped using esc_html() which caused the links to go wrong. Should be fixed in the next update.
In reply to: Allow Users to Change NicknameThe BP displayname is changeable by the user by default in the edit profile page.
In reply to: Include multiple people on a profile pageMight be easier to create each organisation as a group, that way you could use group member functions to create a page to display them. The issue with a profile page is that it’s geared towards a single user_id, you’d have to create custom functions to tie that user to other user_id’s and then create a custom page t display those users. So by using groups you are working with functions already set up to deal with a collection of people.
In reply to: Group forum single don’t workIt’s not actually checking for the bbPress forum, it’s checking for a forum that no longer exists in BuddyPress, which is why it’s failing.
In reply to: Integrate BuddyPress and Google MapsSlightly different scenario, but I needed to allow users to create posts with maps and link them to other MP Google Maps maps. The solution I came up with was to use two maps plugins – Simple Locator, which allows users to add a site specific map to their post, and WP Google Maps. Simple Locator sets two lat and long fields which a custom function I wrote picks up when the post is saved and sets markers on the WP Google Maps map.
I guess the key question is how do you intend to get the map into the users wall? Would it be an activity update that included a map or some other way?
In reply to: Group forum single don’t workThat function has been deprecated, it simply needs to be deleted, are you sure it’s in BuddyPress/members/…? Typically it’s an overload of this file that is at issue, check with your theme creator to see if they need to update.
In reply to: Notification and settings page don’t showSounds like you need to perform a search and replace on the database and see if there’s still mention of the old url.
In reply to: Notification and settings page don’t showWhen you say you migrated your site, how did you do that?
In reply to: 500 internal error on register on localhostDid you try resaving your permalink structure?
In Users>>Profile Fields there is the default profile group – Base, any profile field in this group will be on the registration form. If you create another profile group, the fields in their will not be shown on the registration form.
In reply to: ACF and BP GroupsIt still works
In reply to: BUTTON CSSThat one has a class `friendship-button’, you’d add the CSS to modify it in Customizer, I’m guessing you’ve tried that an it’s not worked?
In reply to: Registration Field from DatabasePossibly the best way of doing this would be to create a custom xprofile field type that encompasses your universities as a drop down list. There used to be the perfect template for you on github – a BuddyPress Xprofile Country Picker – all youd really need to do is swap out the countries for universities. However, I can’t find it, but a deeper search might find it somewhere.
One option is to let the users enter the site details themselves using https://github.com/shanebp/BP-xProfile-Location however that’s probably not ideal for you.
You could use one of the existing Xprofile field types as a template for what you want to do. There’s a number of Xprofile Custom field type plugins around, a quick search in the plugins directory and you will find them, find on that provides a drop down list and fork that. This way you let BP do most of the work for you.

In reply to: Get forum statisticsIn reply to: Status Updates on PageCould you ask your theme developer to raise the bugs with the plugin developers. Strange how they all seem to be giving you issues.
You could write your own plugin I suppose? Don’t think there’s any other off the shelf options
In reply to: Edit address page is blankBuddyPress does not come with a Shop/edit page
By default, BP does not put lines under the fields in the register page. presumably it’s your theme that is adding these?

In reply to: Status Updates on PageTry [activity-stream allow_posting=”1″] this should test is, I’ve had a look at the shortcode and I’m not sure it’s possible to only display the What’s up screen without showing some activity, but it’s worth testing to see if you get the input form.
In reply to: Status Updates on PageThere’s other options, there’s BP Activity Shortcode, I think you can get that to do the same thing.
In reply to: Status Updates on PageSomething with your theme maybe?
In reply to: Status Updates on PageI’m thinking that there maybe a conflict somewhere, this is the second plugin that’s not worked for you.
