I’d look into three things:
- Check to make sure that the permissions on blogs.dir are correct
- Disable all non-BP plugins (one at a time) and see if that makes a difference. Some people have reported that certain plugins can change the permissions on blogs.dir.
- However my guess, and it is just that, is that it is an issue with your GD module not finding the libjpeg library. Someone else reported a similar issue and that is what it turned out to be. Information on patching libjpeg can be found here: http://cblfs.cross-lfs.org/index.php/Libjpeg
