BP depends on .htaccess being enabled.

In apache in httpd.conf AllowOverride controls

what directives will be allowed in .htaccess files.

I’m using:

AllowOverride FileInfo Options

The default value was:

AllowOverride None

Which caused problems when installing BuddyPress
