I’m currently using WP multi site, but just have not enabled the blogs feature for users. So, it’s essentially a WP single user. The reason I enabled multi site is that I may want to use the blogs feature later, WP multisite has some extra options (like username validation), some plugins work with WPMU and not the other. Something to consider.
