ParticipantThis is probably going to sound stupid, but I copied and pasted the example code from the readme and (as it is late) I did not notice there were single quotes around the whole thing. Not sure why they are there but I ended up grabbing the bottom one unknowingly and it took me a bit to realize it was why I was getting a parsing error.
But now all is well and as soon as I can find a bbPress version of the default buddypress template I am golden.
Thanks for this it is a huge help to provide integration.

newbie999
ParticipantHello. I’m a newbie and just created a test site up with buddypress/wordpress/bbpress. Everything looks good. I installed this plugin and followed the directions. However, when I activate it, I get this error:
Fatal error: Class ‘BP_Group_Extension’ not found in /home/ieconnec/public_html/isocal/wp-content/plugins/bp-groupblog/bp-groupblog-classes.php on line 105
I’m running buddypress 1.0.3 and wordpress mu 2.8.4a. Any help you can provide will be much appreciated. I would like to be able to use this plugin.

ParticipantHi Guys!
I’m also having 2 niggling issues with this plugin. 1) If I’m logged out of wordpress AND bbpress, and I log into bbpress, the buddybar doesn’t change from the logged out status. If I click the login link on the buddybar through the forums and log in, it redirects me back to the blog homepage, not the page I clicked from.
Here’s what I’m running…
WPMU 2.8.2
Buddypress 1.0.3
bbPress 1.0.1
Thanks!

mistermachine
ParticipantCannot create groups.
There was an error saving group details. Please try again.
I wish I got to step 4. I’ve been on step one all day. Not sure how to resolve this. I have no other plugins installed, besides the base needed for bbPress integration. I’ve been over and over this process with no luck.

ParticipantHey Guys
This sounds similar to my problem. I have been trying to set up groups for a while now with no luck. Groups haven’t worked from install, which was something I though would clear up as I proceeded with integration, but no go.
http://5planes.mistermachine.com/network/
It looks the page is trying to load an incorrect ajax url. It seems to be adding extra sub-directory to the path name.
http://5planes.mistermachine.com/network/network/
I checked and rechecked the wp-config file with no luck.
Attempts to add new profile information also seems to error out.
Other than these two errors the rest of the site works great! If anyone can help that would be great.

ParticipantI think that plugin will not work with buddypress 1.1

ParticipantTake a look at the buddybar in bbpress plugin: https://buddypress.org/forums/topic/buddybar-for-bbpress/page/5#post-20914
That post has the solution to the problem.

ParticipantI think it is a bug becouse …
If I write something with accents in bbpress works fine,
If I write something with accents in other sites in buddypress (blog, groups, etc …) works fine,
But if I write somethining in buddypress forums with accents I get this error but only in the content, not in the title topic …
see this example http://profesionales.net/groups/profesionales-de-la-informatica/forum/topic/5

ParticipantHi Nicola, bbPress XML-RPC is enabled
if I write “más” in buddypress forum’s group the buddypress show “ms” and the bbpress forum show “m/amp/aacute;s”

Paul Wong-Gibbs
KeymasterThe best way is for you to duplicate your database and site, and perform an upgrade using the current trunk, and see what issues you run into. This is also needed for valuable testing / bug reporting as necessary.
XML-RPC BBPress has been removed, totally. Again, install a test installation of trunk – on the Forums Setup page of the admin menu, there’s an option to either set up a new installation or to use an existing database.
I tried this for the first time last weekend, and setting up a new forum installation was as easy as pressing one button – it’s amazing.
The upgrade button I haven’t tried yet, but it requires you to put in a path for your existing BBPress bb-config.php file. As long as you are using the latest version of BBPress, I can’t think of any issues – possibilities are the server not being able to read the files in a different folder, but if your server is working with the XML-RPC at the moment, then that’s not going to be an issue.
So, “how would that work?” AWESOMELY.

ParticipantDon’t worry you can set up the existing bb forum with the BP 1.1.
Maybe you’ll have some problems with the theme.

ParticipantHow does it appear in the forum? (I mean in the forum not in the group side), to know if the bug is in xmlrpc requests or if it’s a bbpress bug

KeymasterHey DJPaul,
My post was off-topic; you’re right, I’ve copied and pasted my above post and created a new thread:

Feel free to delete my previous post now (and this one as well)!

Keymasterr-a-y; that’s a question for a new topic. If I could move posts I’d start one for you, but I can’t, so if you make a new thread I’ll repost this response into it later…

KeymasterHey Jeff, this is kind of moving a little off-topic, but how would existing BP users with bbPress installed migrate to the new system for v1.1?
We’re using bbPress for main , general discussions as well as BP group forums.
So when BP 1.1 gets released and I want to keep the existing bbPress install, but want to use the updated BP forum code… how would that work?
I’m guessing I would have to rely on some form of legacy compatibility and keep on using XMLRPC? Or leave the existing bbPress install alone and use the new BP forum code (which is some form of embedded instance of bbPress within BP, if I understand correctly)?

ParticipantThe appearance of various tags like p and /p on your forum posts used to indicate a problem with your xmllib library on your server. Read this post for information on the bug and how to fix it.
However, I believe the buddypress-enable.php plugin in earlier versions of BP ( 1.0 and 1.0.1 ), was meant to fix that issue. But, for other reasons, this helper plugin is still required to make bbPress function properly in 1.0.3. So, make sure that you overwrite the existing version of the buddypress-enable.php file with the one that comes with 1.0.3 (found in /buddypress/bp-forums/bbpress-plugins/).
Also, make sure you read and follow the instructions in the installation-readme.txt file found in /bp-forums/.
With regard to XMLRPC, going forward, the communication between bbPress and BP v1.1+ will no longer depend on XMLRPC.

ParticipantAre you asking if an albums component comes as part of BP’s core in v1.1? If so, the answer is no. Here is more information on that issue.

Does the 1.1 version also support the photo albums?

ParticipantJust re-read, Domain mapper is what you want.
However buddypress is sitewide as is bbpress.
I am working on a domain mapper compat bbpress seperation.
Keeping bp unified is still recommended.
