MemberI don’t think the problem is the number of queries actually…
I did a print_r over the $wpdb and the last query done after my call to friends_check_friendship_status is
SELECT id, is_confirmed FROM wp_bp_friends WHERE (initiator_user_id = 0 AND friend_user_id = 0) OR (initiator_user_id = 0 AND friend_user_id = 0)
Which is pretty strange since I am SURE 100% I pass some real ids to the function.
Any ideas?February 3, 2011 at 1:42 pm #104500In reply to: Only Admin Account can Login to Buddypress

KeymasterYeah. If it was = 2, the accounts would not have been activated yet (double-checking). I don’t know.

MemberI did a “select * from wp_users;”. The “user_status” field has the value “0” for all the users including the admin user.
Am I looking at the right values?February 3, 2011 at 8:56 am #104493In reply to: Some questions about BuddyPress friendships

MemberOk I just sent them an e-mail, thanks.
What could be the “relevant things” in the log file that may arise? Do you think that they are “lowering” the number of allowed queries per second and this may be the issue for which the functions are not returning the proper result?February 3, 2011 at 8:18 am #104492In reply to: Some questions about BuddyPress friendships
Paul Wong-Gibbs
KeymasterAsk them if they see anything relevant in the log file or from any usage stats they might record.

KeymasterIf you can, in the Wp_users database table, what user_status does one of these user accounts have?
(I think it’s user_status; values should be 0, 1 or 2, unless you’re using multisite.)February 3, 2011 at 7:32 am #104490In reply to: Only Admin Account can Login to Buddypress

MemberThanks a lot for the reply!
It’s not indeed my own server, I’m working on someone else’s. What should exactly ask them? To allow a greater number of active connections?
Thanks!February 3, 2011 at 7:27 am #104488In reply to: Only Admin Account can Login to Buddypress

KeymasterIf the new user accounts that you’re trying to log in with were created after BuddyPress has been installed, have you activated those user accounts?

KeymasterBuddyPress’ SQL is fine. Your SQL server might be dropping connections. Is this on your own server, or is it being hosted by someone? I’d suggest that you ask them to check your SQL database and look at the number of active connections allowed. Something must be a little bit off-kilter somewhere, or they are throttling database queries.

MemberI’ve just realized I have a couple of warnings from WordPress, don’t know if this can be helpful to help me out:
Warning: mysql_real_escape_string(): 11 is not a valid MySQL-Link resource in /path/to/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 785
Warning: mysql_error(): 11 is not a valid MySQL-Link resource in /path/to/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 1119These happens only when calling the above stated functions of BuddyPress.
Thanks!February 3, 2011 at 6:26 am #104485In reply to: Some questions about BuddyPress friendships

MemberYes I have everything enabled. Unfortunately, I just installed a new theme to try it (Buddymatic) and when I activated it I got the following error.
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare bp_dtheme_ajax_addremove_friend() (previously declared in /home/ordinar5/public_html/coupons/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-themes/bp-default/_inc/ajax.php:334) in /home/ordinar5/public_html/coupons/wp-content/themes/buddymatic/_inc/ajax.php on line 63Can you tell me what happened and how I might fix this?

@mercime
Participant@ddjjmm if you want your subsites/blogs to be directed to
blog1.domain.de
blog2.domain.de
blog3.domain.de
you must install WordPress at root, i.e. http://www.domain.de, and Create a Network with subdomain structure.February 2, 2011 at 8:45 pm #104457@mercime
ParticipantLooks like he’s using the Custom Community BP Theme by @svenl77 per problem in “/home1/laozenco/public_html/wp-content/themes/custom-community/_inc/ajax.php “
Edit- didn’t type fast enough. But if you’re using Custom Community theme, you don’t need to install BP template pack. Use BP Template Pack only when you choose a WP Theme. Deactivate BP Template Pack if you’re going to use a BuddyPress-compatible theme already.

Participant=== The IMages just don’t even load on the crop page, which is not really a huge problem, but it is sort of ugly and out of place. ===
@Bigjimmysisco I understand that your avatars uploads are working. Good for you because most of the problems I saw in these forums were the avatar uploads and not that of header or background image upload/rendering.
Since it’s the loading of the background image and a header image that is failing for you, we have to troubleshoot what’s causing the block to a very basic function.. So are you using the bp-default theme or child theme of the bp-default theme OR a custom theme? If it’s the first two, then reupload manually (via FTP/cPanel) buddypress/bp-themes/bp-default theme to your server. If it’s a custom theme, contact theme author of theme glitches for BP 1.2.7/WP 3.0.4.
Another aspect to consider is that default maximum file size uploads are 2MB or less. Check image file size. Check also image file types allowed – jpg, gif, png.
