ParticipantNot sure if you want us to report any problems here or elsewhere, firetag.
If I attempt to delete a master group, I get this:
Fatal error: Call to undefined method BP_Category_Group::delete() in /Applications/MAMP/htdocs/mysite/wp-content/plugins/bp-group-categoriestypes/includes/bp-grouptypes-admin-edit-groups.php on line 31
And the group doesn’t get deleted. I had 2 groups and tried to delete just one.July 24, 2010 at 3:48 pm #86861In reply to: BuddyPress Forums WYSIWYG

MemberActually the only way I can get it to work is by using the widget, when I put it on a page the manual way there is a Javascript error I was able to track down which is causing problems unless it’s the widget. So i’m hacking the widget to get it to look / work the way I want.
I have an older version of the plugin that doesn’t seem to override the BuddyPress Avatar i’ll let you know if that works any better than the new version.

Participant@JordashTalon, how did you get it to work? I have wp 3 and latest bp with default bp theme. I am working on this for the past 3 days and no success!

B.
Participant@Anom, that lets the user set the slug. What I’m trying to do is retrieve the slug. This is my first time writing code for BP but I know with WP they have functions like get_site_url(); I was hoping something like get_member_slug(); was out there so I can use it as part of a default plugin where I won’t know each users member slug url as they set that up themselves. There is probably a way to retrieve the defined member slug, is that the best way to do this?

ParticipantThanks @el_terko. It worked for the first login and never after.
When i login it through wp-facebook, it logs in and then after 3 seconds automatically logs out.

ParticipantHi r-a-y, I gave it a try but am still stuck. Here is a tip of what I have http://thecoalcity.com/activity
I have some thing I need help on:
1. The layout: Its not displaying as is the case with my regular pages.
2. I need a central page for buddypress, say “community”. As is the case here.
3. The buddypress navigation tab at the tab, is there a way for it not obstructing my Header image?Note: I have not applied the buddypress theme, do I have to – since I don’t want the whole of my site to be buddypress?
Thanks a lot.

Participant@r-a-y, yeah for now the cookie clearance seems to do the trick but for a site with busy forums this feature is a big part of BP which is needed. Could really do with a fix for 1.2.6
Who’s best to target for this. I don’t mind testing any patches etc.
July 23, 2010 at 10:46 pm #86818rossagrant
Participant@johnjamesjacoby I’m using WP 3.0 and BP 1.2.5.2
I cleared my cookies and it’s working fine now but not sure if it will revert back after more activity builds up.
I’ll see what happens and keep everyone updated.July 23, 2010 at 10:22 pm #86816In reply to: Adding more fields to groups

Participant@catchit nope, but I that code is off the groups tags plug-in. I think it allows you to edit the tags, which shouldn’t be hard to integrate into the code I gave you
Edit: I check the group tags plug-in and it does allow you to edit the tags. If I have some time tomorrow Ill have a look and see what I can do.

KeymasterI can’t duplicate this issue on my installs or testbp.org. Kunal’s fix looks like a good idea either way, but it will need more than me to test it.
@rossagrant What versions of WP and BP are you using?

ParticipantHey this plugin is friggen awesome, very simple and does exactly what is needed. I was wondering though, do you know how to populate the field when people try to edit it? @nit3watch

Participantp.s. @hoodiemark – in answer to your second question. I don’t think a filter is a good way to solve this one…
We wanted to avoid displaying post content for blog posts in the activity stream.
The filter options only seemed to let us control how the activity for a blog post was created in the first place, not how much of it was displayed in the stream.
If we’d used the filter to stop the ‘unwanted’ content being added in the first place, it would have meant it was also unavailable in places where it was wanted (e.g. the blog post widget seems to rely on the activity template).
I hope that makes sense!

Participant@hoodiemark – don’t know if you fixed this one, but the call you need is:
if (bp_get_activity_type() == ‘new_blog_post’) : bp_activity_secondary_item_id(); endif;
The post_id is the secondary_item_id, so no need to go trying to traverse deeper into the data structure.
You have two calls you can use:
bp_activity_secondary_item_id()
This echoes the idbp_get_activity_secondary_item_id()
This returns the idHow do we start including this stuff in the Codex?

I will try to contact Justin Klein and hopefully he can help me. I will post here if something new comes up.

Participant@lincme @r-a-y Thanks for the reply. It seems to be a cookie issue. If I clear my browsers cookies then I get normal ‘Load Mores’ but not sure how long that will last with new activity being added all the time.
That Trac ticket is 5 months old, I’m suprised this hasn’t been nailed yet.
The fix mentions that it hasn’t been tested thoroughly yet so I might wait to see if it gets an update soon. It’s quite a big problem in my opinion as members want to look back at what they have missed.
Have you looked at the patch @lincme?July 23, 2010 at 7:26 pm #86792In reply to: Facebook Connect with Buddypress

KeymasterI haven’t tested the plugin with WP 3.0, however some people are experiencing problems with it, but some say it’s working as well:

Participant@r-a-y yes it’s totally safe but in order to maintain forwards compatability with the plugin it’s best to only use on installations that currently don’t have any groups

Participantwhen i try to login using fb, i get “page not found” for: “/wp-content/plugins/wp-fb-autoconnect/_process_login.php”
Yes, all files of the plugin are uploaded.
I checked the box in plugin settings: “Show full log on error”
there is nothing shownJuly 23, 2010 at 6:55 pm #86787In reply to: Facebook Connect with Buddypress
r-a-y
KeymasterSo it says page not found when you attempt to login with FB for this url – “/wp-content/plugins/wp-fb-autoconnect/_process_login.php”?
Do you have all the files for WP-FB-AutoConnect uploaded?
Also in the plugin’s settings, there should be some options to enable an error log. Turn that on and see what it says when you attempt to login to FB.July 23, 2010 at 6:54 pm #86786In reply to: How do I add buddyPress within my existing blog?
r-a-y
KeymasterI’d just stick to the first option. Unless you really insist you want everything to reside under the “forum” subdirectory.
You won’t break your blog. But just to be extra cautious, back up everything!
