Can you post a ticket at: https://trac.buddypress.org/newticket

I’ve noticed this too – I made some core changes recently that have affected some areas of messaging.

Hi Andy, i installed the latest trunk and there are 2 different problems with Messaging,

    1) USER A sends a message to user B, user B recieves the notification at the adminbar (now saying 0 messages) but he finds the message. User B reply the message, USAR A, recibis the notification at the adminbar (with 0 messages in this trunk) and no message

Problem 1) Reply Message not received always existed, the 0 messages notification is new.

    Cheers!

    Hello Friends,

I have been testing buddpress module. And want to discuss with ppl issue like privacy.

A person surfing on site can see users profile ok this is some what understood but a person can see users birthdate, wire, friends etc.

There has to be features by which user will decide what is to be private and what is to be public. There has to be roles like anonymous, logged in user, friend now this is for profile.

As far my knowledge for anonymous user only restriction is not to insert content other that all site is visible for him/her.

I have seen roadmap for bp core functionality privacy is there. May be bp guys are going to have these ideas too for user profiles.

@owe, BuddyPress only works with WP Mu. If you want to use the normal WP, then you’re better off to find some plugins that will give you the functionality you want. There is an avatar plugin for WP as well as a private messaging one. There may be a friends one too, I can’t remember. Just look through the WP Codex Plugin directory.

I’m confused. That site looks like an elgg site. Is there a way to private message on here? I’d like to ask you some questions. I’m torn between WordPress MU/Buddypress and Elgg.

The only other option currently available is a plugin that makes the blog itself private. No idea how it acts with BP.

    Hi, Andy

I’m planning to create a WPMU based social network. But instead of transforming a user blog into a homepage (username.example.com), I simply create a customized home theme that holds most of the social networking part of the site. For example, the user homepage (profile) is located in http://example.com/user/myname.

And I’m interested in using the buddypress components, the private message, the gruops, etc. Is the component flexible enough to be integrated in my site structure?

btw, this is a great project!

    TIA

Sorry if this has already been asked, I couldn’t find it in the forum.

Since members can invite other member (and that’s good) I was wondering what features are in buddy to maintain a private network? Moderation etc.

If this has been mentioned here, could you please direct me to where.
