Hello,
I would like to call a specific profile field into a link title; thus, my html would look like this:``
My failed php attempt #1 (if the variable is called “Company”):
“My failed php attempt #2 (if the variable is called “Company”):
“I’m using this post as my guide: (http://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/calling-specific-profile-fields-individually/?topic_page=1&num=15#post-27943).
Where have I gone wrong?
Environment: Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP
WordPress 3.0.4.
BuddyPress Version 1.2.7
====================
I have an extended profile with 5 groups of information fields. If a user is created in the admin or in the signup page, they are able to go to their profile, and click the “edit profile” link which points to http://www.domain.com/members/username/profile/edit and it WILL redirect automatically to http://www.domain.com/members/username/profile/edit/group/1 and allow for normal editing.The problem is this: I have imported 3800 users into the database directly with what I believe is all the proper fields filled in, but when those users try to click on “EDIT PROFILE” the redirect to http://www.domain.com/members/username/profile/edit/group/1 doesn’t work and it sends them to the home page.
I’ve been asked to add custom fields to BP Register (that also show up in Profile)
The client is using PlatformPro with the PlatformBase themeThe new fields need to ‘cascade’ based on first selection.
So I can use ‘Profile Field Setup’ to create fields, but not to populate them.
Using ajax/php/mysql, I built a standalone version outside of WP:I’m looking for any hints/tips on possible ways to proceed.
I’ve seen the posts re Child themes.
Can I use a Child theme of PlatformBase to accomplish the task?
Or… ?Topic: Custom Fields in Profile
Hi,
I am trying to check if a custom field I’ve added to the BuddyPress “Edit Profile” page will come up with custom data.
This is the PHP Code I am currently using – but at the moment it is just printing out the field name, rather than showing the echo “test” bit.
<?php if ( bp_the_profile_field_input_name() == 'field_17') { echo "test"; } ?>
hello, I run wp3.03+bp1.26 in localhost, Why my profile -> edit profile just can edit Name (required)? I see buddypress.org can edit Name (required), About Me, Current Location. How to do that? and if I want add more info inqeury fields, I shall edit witch page file? or add a plungin? Thanks.
Hi all,
can somebody give me a hint if there is an easy way to remove validation of user joining groups (so admin does not have to accept but they will be instantly joined)? Even better would be a function that I can use to automatically join users in certain groups depending on what they select in their profile custom fields, e.g. a user choosing that he is a student will be automatically joining a certain group.
Thanks,
Miri
Been wanting to exclude users with the role ‘subscriber’ from the member directory.
I’ve been looking around for this for a while. I think I may have found it!
Editing the members-loop.php like so:`
-
<?php while ( bp_members() ) : bp_the_member();
$user = new WP_User( bp_get_member_user_id() );
if ( $user->roles[0] != ‘subscriber’ ) :
?>
`
Correct me if I’m wrong… !?
Topic: WordPress 3.0.3 error
Hello Everyone and Happy New Year!
I really need some help here.
I am using WP3.0.3 and Buddypress 1.2.7, but there seems to be a bug because when I change my profile in WP I get the following errors which completely destroy the functions of the theme I am using:
Warning: call_user_func_array() [function.call-user-func-array]: First argument is expected to be a valid callback, ‘save_extra_profile_fields’ was given in /home/suneva/public_html/anewvideo/tester/wp-includes/plugin.php on line 395
Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/suneva/public_html/anewvideo/tester/wp-includes/plugin.php:395) in /home/suneva/public_html/anewvideo/tester/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 890
Does anyone have a solution to this problem?
Thanks in advance.
Topic: If Profile field has data?
I have this code and the fields are NOT required:
`<?php bp_member_profile_data( 'field=City' );
bp_member_profile_data( ‘field=State or Province’ );
bp_member_profile_data( ‘field=Country’ ); ?>`I’m wondering how to create the code for adding a comma(,) before the field IF the field has data
So my out put would be: City, State, Country or City, Country
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
