@mercime
Participant@kasarlaravi That would entail some modifications to your template files. BuddyPress 1.7 is coming out soon and you would be able to import BP’s internal Group Forums into bbPress plugin where that functionality is available by default.

Participantdefinitely questionable if you have an alternate forum up already but the main thing you would be getting would be a tighter integration and less trouble you might want to look into it a bit and see if theres an easy way to convert your existing data to bbpress format.

ParticipantNo problem.
We are using BP version 1.6.4
BbPress is version 2.2.4
Wordpress is version 3.5.1Forum settings are allowed for groups and standalone. This issue is happening on all topics as far as I can tell.
Yes I am aware they are two separate plugins, do you suggest I post this on the bbP forum?
Hope this helps.

Participant@fede1, as you activated bbPress and allowed group forums, bbPress will use the bp template (out of the box, it’s bp-default). So i wonder witch template you really want to activate ?
Maybe read this: https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/how-to-edit-bbpress-template-files-wordpress-buddypress-bbpress/
and ask also on the bbPress Forum.March 28, 2013 at 2:06 pm #159004Unsal Korkmaz

ParticipantWell, according to bbPress CSS, it’s: table#topic-post-list … but again, nothing.
Tried your suggestion, and also tweaked to match (I know, I’m at guesswork now) this: :
`table#topic-post-list li {
background-color: #555555;
}table#topic-post-list li:nth-child(even) {
background-color: #888888;
}`With the same result …March 27, 2013 at 2:51 pm #158743isisjade
ParticipantSo what page should I associate with the discussion forums in buddypress if not the forums page as described in the documentation as I’ve pasted below? Even with a forum page titled differently and the slugs named differently (ensuring no duplication) the issue is still present.
Note: I did NOT enable group forums.
Here are the instructions I have followed:
https://codex.buddypress.org/user/setting-up-a-new-installation/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/
A. Set Up Sitewide Forums onlyInstall and activate bbPress.
Proceed to bbPress.org Codex to get started in creating your Sitewide Forums.
If you kept the default āforumsā slug in Settings > Forums, you can create a new Page via Pages > Add New. Add Title āForumsā and insert the forums index shortcode and/or other bbPress shortcode youāll find in the bbPress Codex then publish the new page.
Add new āForumsā Page in your custom menu via Appearances > Menu.March 27, 2013 at 2:44 pm #158742isisjade
Participantno, you misunderstood. group forums are not enabled – this is not the problem.

@mercime
Participant@blg002 bbPress forums includes TinyMCE editor. If you’re in Text editor mode, click on img button and insert the image url. If you’re in Visual editor mode, click on the image icon and insert the image url like what I did below

@mercime
Participant@blg002 sorry, I thought you wanted more than what’s already available in default bbPress (aka Sitewide forums) installation. Go to Settings > Forums > Main Settings – Auto-embed links – check this “Embed media (YouTube, Twitter, Flickr, etc…) directly into topics and replies”
March 26, 2013 at 10:58 pm #158691Paul Wong-Gibbs
KeymasterIf you use bbPress for site-wide forums (as you say you are), you do not need to enable “Group Forums” inside BuddyPress. So, go back to the BuddyPress settings, disable Group Forums, and then go and delete the (regular Page) called “forums”.

ParticipantI’ve also attempted to use the default forum base: forums and topic base: topics as well as change name of the page to Forums, but I continue to have the same issue. Any ideas/suggestions?

ParticipantYeah that was my bad for not waiting to publish but its good that i did.. Theme is published 2-3 days late but those little updates was necessary š
and btw.. Theme is officially published in WordPress.Org:Ā https://wordpress.org/extend/themes/firmasite
Tomorrow i will release a detailed article about child-theme writing but meanwhile you can try this parent theme
March 26, 2013 at 8:53 am #158390@mercime
Participant@unsalkorkmaz may I make a suggestion: please do not update your theme until it has been synced with WordPress Extend Themes. Otherwise, you’d have to wait for another 7 days max before the theme’s live at WP.org

ParticipantOk I think I may have found a solution. Uninstall all forums installs and delete all groups then follow this old guide here
https://codex.buddypress.org/legacy/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums-v1-5/3/
It’s for an older version but it worked ok for me with bbpress Version 2.2.4 and buddypress Version 1.6.5
Once done with the guide created a new group with the group creation wizard and after it is finished go into admin>forums on the group page and save the settings enabling forums again as apparently there is a bug that sometimes doesn’t enable the forums but doing this fixes it.
I hope it works for you as it has worked for me.

ParticipantSorry for people that waiting, passed 7+ days from approved but theme is still waiting for WordPress.Org publish. Ā Its probably my fault that i released some newer versions before it gets published. I cant give a date but at least theme will be in WordPress.Org soon.
Meanwhile you can check my example child-theme: http://theme.firmasite.com/example.zip
This theme;- addsĀ FlatstrapĀ custom style to theme style list
- selects it automatically
- removing default default bootstrap style from list.
You can edit this child-theme however you want š

ParticipantIām aware that users can turn it off.
Let me explain again.
I have a vbulletin database and am converting it over to bbpress.
When doing so, I get notifications for EVERY @ in the last 3 years. Thatās several thousands of emails going out and spamming users.
I need to turn it off so I can test the database conversion and I donāt want to spam my thousands of users.
Should I report this on the trac?
@shanebpdev
Thank you for replying. Looks like I will need to do one of your suggestions.

Keymasterbbp-login is a bbPress shortcode.
March 22, 2013 at 7:10 pm #157498ntmedia
ParticipantThanks for your explanation @Chouf1 š
It is a managed server from german hoster strato.
I try to fix it since 2 days and got a big headache! š This site has really much images to load and the loading time for archive-pages go down to 1,1 sec from 2,0 since loading images from subdomain. Everything works fine except of bp members-loop and bbpress topics with more than 3 replies.
I will try to remove the subdomain and hope it works like bevor. It`s better all sites loading in 2,0sec instead of some loading very fast and some needs forever.
I have that sense it could be fixed but i do not get it!
