KeymasterThanks, Ray. It’s there, appears to be complete, and is readable by apache. bb-config.php is also where it’s always been, and has all the right info. Dashboard > Forums Setup is telling me bbPress is set up correctly, but I reinstalled bbPress just for kicks, both as a new and an existing installation, and it’s still not working.

Participantbedo02, followed your advice multiple ways. Been posting quite a bit and would love some code excerpts for how to make certain things show up in the forums. For example, with the one-click, only groups show up, and I’d like to replicate what BuddyPress does here https://buddypress.org/forums (displays “Main Themes”).
I’m able to access bbPress’s admin, but I don’t know how to make the forums and posts made there show up in BuddyPress. Been posting and could really use some code examples.

Participantthe error log is probably in the root directory & should show you what is breaking the site.
As bbPress is installed correctly, it looks like it is a problem with the BuddyPresss theme with either incorrect php or calling an undefined/incompatible function.
What version of PHP is your server running?

ParticipantFirst of all I don’t know where the error logs are? What directory?
Secondly If it is running ok from the BuddyPress plugin directory shouldn’t it be installed ok. Like I said before members can login with their main site passwords and post stuff and new forums are created at a new group being created.

ParticipantSorry, thought you had installed it yourself incorrectly.
Have a look at your error logs, looks like there is a problem with a function being called that is killing the rest of the site.

ParticipantI let BuddyPress install it for me and the bbPress bit is inside Buddpress which is included with BuddyPress.
Would the solution be to download bbPress and install it at the root of my site in a directory called bbPress?

ParticipantYou installed bbPress in your WordPress plugins directory which shouldn’t be done.
Either let BuddyPress install bbPress for you or install bbPress in it’s own directory.

Keymaster1) BuddyPress 1.2 will be compatible with WordPress and WordPress MU. It will be out soon.
2) Don’t resurrect 9 month old threads

ParticipantI wonder if it is possible to integrate BuddyPress with WordPress (not MU)?
Or if there is now forecast to make this possible?
Thanks

ParticipantRight, and what code displays the “Main Themes” and where do I put it…I have some attempts here https://buddypress.org/forums/topic/how-to-access-to-bbpress-admin-from-buddypress but that’s not cutting it.
Maybe I’ll just try sticking
$forums = bb_get_forums();
“somewhere…”

ParticipantI believe they just use a seperate bbpress install here.

symm2112
ParticipantThat’s not really a buddypress question, more of a bbpress question. If you’re using the one click install group forums, you wouldn’t be able to use any plugins anyway. The only way to use a plugin for this would be to use the external bbpress integration.

ParticipantIf you put up the multiblog setup correctly then there should be no problem with double data. I have a test network running with 3 blogs, the main having buddypress installed and even a single bbpress install.

Participantthanks for the reply windhamdavid, but… i’ve a different idea that I don’t know how to practice…
the function bp_last_activity() need bp_displayed_user_id() i think it’s the buddypress user’s id… right?
so, if I can figure out how to pass the user ID of who writes the post I have solved, right?
bp_last_activity( post_author_id() ) not work… post_author_id() simple print the user id…
help me please… thanks!

ParticipantSo are you saying that I need to look at the php file that determines the layout of the forums page (in BuddyPress) and add the appropriate code to show what’s going on in bbPress?
Can you share the code for the way BuddyPress.org works right now, cuz that’s fine for me.
January 28, 2010 at 12:35 pm #61888Windhamdavid
ParticipantArturo ~ It isn’t exactly that simple and this question is more appropriate for in the BBpress forums since you’re working with a standalone BBpress install. Have you investigated this bbpress plugin? The code you’re referring to for bp is bp_member_last_active() & bp_get_member_last_active() in bp-core/bp-core-templatetags/ (#250) it requires the global $members_template from within BP and the bp-forums-templatetags. I don’t have the time to investigate a full solution but I went to the effort of testing a couple functions this morning inside of a standalone for you to see if I could come up with an easy solution, but there isn’t one at the moment other than using the functions inside of _ck_’s members online but you may be sacrificing future compatibility in doing so.
