How did you get the word out about your site?
@esploded I’d suggest starting with a clean version of wp/bp you can set up a new site on your MAMP, if that doesn’t work then there is something up with your settings.
If you want help from the forum it might be worth you setting this up on a server rather then keeping it local so you can show people.

@mercime, this doesn’t appear to be resolved. I’ve clicked on just about every link and the site activity still shows on every page.

@tommyhoang Your bp-custom.php should contain not only that line but also the opening and closing tags.

I’m actually thinking about dropping buddypress if this doesn’t get itself fixed.
Actually I stumbled across this question while spending several hours last night looking for the answer on the infamous Group Avatar step error message, after seeing there were as many different answers as there were questions, and not finding the solution (and doing what each answer suggested), I decided not to fight it. I don’t know if your question stems from this type of error or simply you’ve come to realize the group is created after the first step (as you said), but rather than using php or a core hack,etc, etc, I just removed the upload buttons and text of the avatar step using CSS, essentially users who create the group will consider it a default avatar, not get thrown off by an error message and click through the process; they then do any editing afterwords. Editing the avatar after the fact doesn’t throw any errors as it does when creating the group.
In my case, I know it’s a child theme problem and having a static home page, even though I followed the buddypress docs to a t. Didn’t want to give up the home page for the buddypress default, so that was my solution. it’s fairly painless and works.
Really cool I have a soft spot for community use like this of BuddyPress – great use. Nice amount of members and done from ground up always puts a smile on my face
I don’t have a section where I can delete it on my wordpress admin. I’m trying to find it on the account but no luck. the only functions I have with wordpress on buddypress are:
“General Settings”
“Component Setup”
“Forums Setup”
“Profile Field Setup”
“Privacy Settings”
Nothing else. When I did an older version I got more options because I installed bbpress with it. I’m just using Buddypress. I dono? maybe I’m doing it all wrong?
Really need a solution for this. Anyone?
@tommyhoang what says your “footer and header are ready to be used as widgets.”? Did you place the proper code in functions.php?
@alexpee that line is on 1554 of your style.css file, that is forcing your text to align in the centre

I’ve been playing with BBPress 2.0 for a while. The quickest and easiest way to get it working is to copy the shortcode you require (or all of them and then edit the ones you don’t need) from https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/bbpress-20-shortcodes
Paste the shortcodes you require into a new page you create within wordpress – or an existing page.
The forums list will show up along with topics list and so on if you use the correct shortcode.
I use a plugin to make it easy to find Post ID for each individual forum.

Both bp_has_members() and bp_has_groups() now accept ‘exclude’ parameters. They accept a comma-separated string of group ids. bp_has_blogs() does not have an exclude parameter; feel free to open an enhancement ticket on trac.buddypress.org for this.
