Thank you Jose and Patrick for the kind words. Since I checked the forum here today and to my surprise found the topic I thought I would clarify.
@migraine. no, this plugin does not support categories inside group forum. It rather allows a separate forum(but coupled with BuddyPress), so It is not what you are looking for. It allows to have independent forum/subforums etc, but does not add multiple forum within the group.

You shouldn’t really need that put again if you have a child theme for buddypress.

But I would expect top notch assistance from its developer @sbrajesh, he always provides lots of help in his website.

Global Forums works extremely well, and the support community at BuddyDev is very helpful. The small subscription cost is well worth every penny.

I think you would have to go into buddypress it’s self and change the css.

I was able to do a fair amount of style customization to BP but I’m using custom theme designed to work with bp so not sure how others would go about it.

I can make it display things on blog pages, but how do I make it display things on normal static WP pages? I have checked the Show Component & Action thing in BP Sidebar but that doesn’t seem to help.

Look at the $bp global, at the `$bp->loggedin_user object`, which contains the ID, URL and name of the currently logged in user. `$bp->loggedin_user->domain` is what you are looking for.

Nothing has been changed in bp-default theme from Buddypress 1.2.7 to 1.2.8. You can see changes have been made only to core files here:

If you’re unsure about updating, keep a copy of BP1.2.7 handy so you can revert back to it if anything breaks

I’m looking for the same, I have a table or a list with firstname, lastname and email. Now I want to import this list to WordPress/BuddyPress and WP/BP sends every one of these new users a welcome email with their random generated password… Is that possible? I have tried a couple user import plugin… but none of them worked really well.
