ParticipantThis feels very much like a duplication of this post:
Please avoid double posting topics, if necessary after a ~24 hour period bump your topic if it’s received no replies.
I have to admit that a few of your topics so far have left me non plussed as to what you’re after so please describe your requirements in as as much detail as possible, I also think that it may be possible that you are seeking to do things that require a degree of experience with BP and fair knowledge of PHP.
Closing this thread, please continue in the one you started, linked to above.

MemberNope I know its not the theme just because the top navigation bar used to work for my theme when I first installed buddypress. I have had buddypress deactivated for awhile because I had no use for it, I reactivated yesterday and I still couldn’t get the top navigation bar working. Any ideas?

Participant@gregfielding @r-a-y ….. thank you so much for bringing up this mentions issue …. i’m using w3tc latest versions of everything …i’ll keep checking back here for possible fix ….one other question lets say they fix the messaging issue in a future version of buddypress (and hopefully the @mentions) how would i know then to remove this from my functions.php file? would it be in the readme file of the latest version as an issue fixed in that release?

MemberEdit. I just removed the following code from ajax.php and the “favorite” button is still there. Why won’t it die?
`break;
case ‘favorites’:
$feed_url = $bp->loggedin_user->domain . BP_ACTIVITY_SLUG . ‘/favorites/feed/’;``* AJAX mark an activity as a favorite */
function bp_dtheme_mark_activity_favorite() {
global $bp;bp_activity_add_user_favorite( $_POST );
_e( ‘Remove Favorite’, ‘buddypress’ );
}
add_action( ‘wp_ajax_activity_mark_fav’, ‘bp_dtheme_mark_activity_favorite’ );/* AJAX mark an activity as not a favorite */
function bp_dtheme_unmark_activity_favorite() {
global $bp;bp_activity_remove_user_favorite( $_POST );
_e( ‘Favorite’, ‘buddypress’ );
}
add_action( ‘wp_ajax_activity_mark_unfav’, ‘bp_dtheme_unmark_activity_favorite’ );

Participant@mercime, remember if you put this in bp-custom.php you need to remove the beginning php tag, and the end tag because it will cause a parse error: unexpected “<" error.

Keymaster@VegasParty607 Make sure you set it to the proper UTC offset – not simply UTC, but UTC-5 (for example, if you are in the US Eastern Time Zone)
Thanks for your patience with this, gang. I’m going to investigate whether this is a BP problem or a problem with WP itself.

Keymaster@bigjimmysisco I mean the username/password to your files, so I can access them through an FTP client. I have a feeling that this problem is not going to be solved unless I or another developer can test on an actually affected installation.

From Djpaul’s suggestion.,Deactivating all plugins……
Timestamps still wrong.
I am using buddypress columns theme
`Can you test again with no extra plugins on the BP-Default theme, and when you post a new activity stream item? The “new activity stream item” bit is important. Thanks.

MemberActually I have an idea that might fix the issue.
Where in the core are the timespamps’s code located? Because if I take the code from 1.2.5.2, (where it works) and replace it in 1.2.7, it might fix the issue for us that are having problems. for example like is it in bp-tamplatetags.php?
@hnla I mean outdated as in the fix is already applied in 1.2.7.
