And for the database, if you are not planning to reinstall again, you could remove buddypress specific db entries.

this template doesn’t make sense at all. What template are you talking about? Are you talking about bp specific themes? If so, of course when you are no longer using buddypress, they won’t work correctly.

How about bbpress plugins? Do they work, too?

Some will work by putting the bbPress plugin in the /mu-plugins/ folder.

BuddyPress’ embedded version of bbPress does not have a bbPress backend, so try using bbPress plugins that do not have an admin options page.

(I’d try _ck_’s plugins since most of her plugins do not have an admin options page)

Other trickier ones will need to be ported over.

Delete all the buddypress and its related plugins from the directory. Make sure you also don’t have any buddypress plugins under mu-plugins.

    OK Andy solved this one for me in this thread. The answer is this: xprofile_get_field_data( $field_name_or_id, $user_id );

Where $user_id is (in this case) $member and $field_name_or_id is (in my case) 61. I got the number by looking at the Profile Field I was after in Firefox with the Web Developer toolbar and it showed me the number in the class. I can’t work out another way of seeing a custom profile field’s id.. Off we go!!!

I posted about that yesterday, here, 2 posts down the list. https://buddypress.org/forums/topic/no-output-from-the-loop-on-bp11-admin-blog

Glad to see someone else is having the same issue (sort of). Means I’m not losing my mind!

If someone feels like extending XML-RPC support to BuddyPress then that would be an excellent plugin that could be rolled into core at some point.

You won’t have to worry about it as the internal version of bbPress will upgrade when you upgrade BuddyPress.

You should not be using bp-sn-parent theme, it says it right there in the description. Use the bp-default.

@r-a-y – Two great ideas. Next time I push out an update I will implement both. Maybe an admin option with checkboxes for where you want the subscribed/not-subscribed messages to appear (on the group home page or on the group forum index page or both). I might get to this next week – earlier if I find bugs and need to update anyway :)

@Erich73 https://buddypress.org/about/roadmap/ says it’s coming in v1.3 core. That might not be for a while, though.

It’s more likely he forgot to remove bp related plugins from mu-plugins folder after deactivating buddypress. I had the same problem yesterday when I used it.

start from deactivating all the plugins. if wp-signup still returns blank page, this would be problem on wpmu not buddypress.

Boone… great work as always! :)

Still on < 1.1 myself, and was thinking we needed something like this for group forums in the interim.

    Just a few suggestions:

    – maybe add the admin options page under the “BuddyPress” admin menu?

    – is there an action that will show the “Forum subscription” block on the group forum index page instead of the group homepage?

The current version of bp-contents is not compatible with BuddyPress v1.1. I know that Burt was making some significant improvements to his plugin, waiting for v1.1 to come out before he released it.

I would suggest that you contact him via BuddyPress private messaging and see what he says about a timeline.

Wow, I’m fast. New version of Group Forum Subscription that works with BP 1.1: https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/group-forum-subscription-for-buddypress/installation/
