Topic: Filter members loop
Hi!
I would like to filter the members loop after clicking on a link. The filtering itself isn’t the problem because its well documented (https://codex.buddypress.org/developer/loops-reference/the-members-loop/). I just don’t know how to apply the filter and where to write the code.
For instance my members have the xprofile fields gender and pet. On my homepage I have the following:
<a href="#">All male members who have poodles</a>
After clicking on this a new page should be opened which displays all male members with poodles.My questions:
1. How can I tell the new page what should be filtered?
2. How can I filter for more than one field. In the doc there’s this
<?php if ( bp_has_members( my_custom_ids( $field_name, $field_value ) ) ) : ?>
Can I enter more than one $field_name and $field_value (male and poodle)?
3. Which template do I have to use for the custom members loop?Thanks in advance!

Using Apache serverWhen an userA registers both a site and account he gets a blog, suppose

Now his categories do not work, when http://localhost/wordpress/userA/category/uncategorized/
or any other category is clicked it gives a “Page not found Error”This gets corrected if Permalink Settings is made Default [http://localhost/wordpress/?p=123]
UserA can now click on ‘uncategorized’ and get to the uncategorized page or any category page properly.However now the Buddypress links like Activity, Groups, Members do no work !
These lead to non-existent or blank pages.
At this stage admin panel shows “BuddyPress is almost ready. You must update your permalink structure to something other than the default for it to work.”
If “something other” is now selected BP works fine again BUT the Category links in the sidebar of the userA’s blog fail to work again. This happens for all users and fresh categories added via the admin page do not show up in the theme side-bar.There are several threads in wp org forum but are 2 year old or so and some I tried are not working (links here) – may be I have missed, if you know one please post.
Any permanent solution that will survive future upgrades? What settings do I need to do? Thanks a lot for your help.

The normal link is groups/GROUP-SLUG/admin/ and it will become a 404
groups/GROUP-SLUG/admin/edit-details/ will work.
How can I change the manage link to groups/GROUP-SLUG/admin/edit-details/
or better do you have a working solution? Hope you can help.

When I activate Buddypress 2.2.1 and BPcheckins latest version by Imath, and no other plugins – Theme default Twenty Fifteen) the link texts in side-bar disappear – some remain and some disappear. Please see the picture

I’m curious if there’s any way I could have the notification number that is on the admin bar moved to a page link on the menu bar on my website.
I’m trying to get my BuddyPress-enabled website to a point where our registered users do not need to see the admin bar, but having the notifications counter is something I’d like to keep.
I’m creating a community of bloggers.
I would like for the bloggers to add their most recent blog posts (or a few of them) to their profiles in buddypress. I don’t care if it’s an extra tab that says ‘blog posts’ or just on the first page of their profiles. I would really like if the post had a thumbnail along with the title and possibly and excerpt but I’m not too picky. I would assume this would either be a list or pinterest style. I’m not sure what the best way to do this is. Maybe there is a plugin that I’m not aware of?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I need some help. I’m trying to customize the template around the registration page. Here’s what I’ve done:
– copied over the template inside /plugins/buddypress/bp-templates/bp-legacy/buddypress/members/register.php to my child template folder
– opened register.php
– searched for the words “Create an Account”
– didn’t find it in the file. Try another tactic…
– went into Buddypress settings in the WordPress admin page
– under the Pages tab, changed the page for Register to a page I created that uses a custom template
– changed the title of this page to “Sign Up”
– refresh – nothing is different (custom template also not being used)What am I doing wrong? How do I change the title of the “Create an Account” page?

I know that this plugin is very old and hasn’t been maintained but it still works in Buddypress 2.2/

The dilemma I am having is that I’d like to change the date and time formatting on the activity streams, and I can do this, however, when Bump to Top is activated, it only shows the updated date; making it look like the post was just made- when really only a comment was made.
For example:
User 1 posted an update March 1 2015 12:30pm, User 2 commented March 5 2015 at 6am, the activity meta shows: User 1 posted an update March 5 2015 at 6am which obviously is user 2’s activity comment date.How to rectify this?
