@cristian-mihai Site URI? I need to see what’s wrong as I was expecting full alignment based on the structure of your theme.
Reminder per my instruction above:
“If you’ve revised any of the BP template files transferred to your gonzo theme folder in server during the BP Compatibility process, please delete the 6 BP folders transferred to your gonzo theme folder in server – /activity, /blogs, /forums, /members, /groups, /register – then re-run Appearance > BP Compatibility again to make sure that you have clean template files.”
@marutim Based on the HTML structure of your theme, you need to change 16 template files within the 6 BP folders transferred to your flare theme folder in server during the compatibility process.
If you’ve previously changed any of the BP template files in your flare theme folder in server, replace all of them for a clean slate by deleting the 6 BP folders – /activity, /blogs, /forums, /groups, /members, and /registration – then re-run Appearance > BP Compatibility.
Download the 6 clean BP folders to your computer hard drive.
A. At the top of each of those 16 template files I linked to above, replace
`
`
with the following:
`
<div id="precontent" class="”>
<div id="content" class="”>
<article id="post-” >
`
Then, in each of 16 files, you’d like to change the BP Templates’ page title’s header tag from `
…
` or `
..
` to
`
`
where applicable, then move this to just right UNDER “ Just watch out when you do this in the /activity/index.php page.
Save files.
no one having any idea on this??
If you deactivate BP and create a blog/subsite from the backend, can you go to the newly created blog? If not, then you have to resolve the issue first at https://wordpress.org/support/forum/multisite
Hello,
@Svenl77 merci for your answer and your help. Custom Community it is a great theme,
On your support forum i created a ticket, but i didn´t find the mistake of my installation.
Here is the link: http://support.themekraft.com/requests/1795
Many thanks for your help
Frank
@ahri2012 the Custom Community theme devs had integrated sbrajesh’s BuddyPress Global/Sitewide Unified search. I’m sure theme devs @konrads @svenl77 can assist you in their forums or provide a link to the solution.
Yes, WP + BP users are the same. Yes to WP/BP profile data in different places.
As I’ve said in another thread of yours, admins can edit all BuddyPress information from the front-end of your site. The codex is probably as good as it gets unless someone’s written a blog post, or if you can find an old post on this forum.
It’s split like this because BuddyPress’ profile system is more powerful and therefore complicated than WordPress’, and it wasn’t possible to use the WordPress database tables for BuddyPress profile data.
We’ve seen your post at https://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/buddypresswp-users-how-does-it-work/ — there was no real need to bump this very old topic. Closing this topic in favour of the above.
== adjusting custom themes to use BP has become somewhat of a service on this forum but we look forward to 1.7 dropping ==
@hnla it was more of a mission on my part to do this lightweight work on the front end while you guys do the heavy lifting on the back end
And yes, I am looking forward to BP 1.7
== however this is really making me feel sad ==
@zeecc don’t feel sad. Initial scan shows that we might be able to get away with creating only 3 files instead of revising 16 template files. I say this because if 3 files don’t work, we have to go the 16 files route. Having said that, I’m 99% sure the 3 files will do it for your theme.
We will create three new files, header-buddypress.php, sidebar-buddypress.php and footer-buddypress.php to make your theme compatible with BP.
If you’ve revised any of the BP template files transferred to your minimosity theme folder in server during the BP Compatibility process, please delete the 6 BP folders transferred to your minimosity theme folder in server – /activity, /blogs, /forums, /members, /groups, /register – then re-run Appearance > BP Compatibility again to make sure that you have clean template files.
A. COPY your theme’s header.php and Save As > header-buddypress.php
Open up header-buddypress.php and at the BOTTOM of the file, below other code contained within, add this:
`
`
Save file.
B. CREATE a blank file and Save As > sidebar-buddypress.php
Do not add anything in it.
Yes, now I understand what you’re trying to say..
I hope somebody else here in this forum can help you to do this customization..
@mercime isn’t the only ‘expert’ but adjusting custom themes to use BP has become somewhat of a service on this forum but we look forward to 1.7 dropping
.
Before mercime does have to dive in to help you out have you actually run through the template pack process as outlined in the BP codex and attempted to get things working, it helps in advance to know what has been tried.
== What I need, is, to put the Members, Activities, Blogs, Forums, … from Buddypress installed under wandlungen.org also under spirituell.ws. ==
@bomio Are the users/members in spirituall.ws the same users/members in the main site?
Did you want to enable members of spirituell.ws to post to e.g. Forums of main site in spirituell.ws or do you want to have a separate BP installation for spirituell.ws?
Btw, did you use the Domain Mapping plugin to point spirituell.ws to http://spirituell.wandlungen.org?
@nicholmikey You can make a WP theme compatible with BP by installing/activating the BP template pack plugin and go through Appearance > BP compatibility process.
– the process at a glance with some “template-packed” WP themes near bottom of page https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/wordpress-to-buddypress-theme/
– a recently “template-packed” artisteer theme https://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/bp-compatibility-plugin-with-an-artisteer-theme/
The plugin author did not enable the Plugin’s Group Forums in this site. You can post support questions straight in plugin’s WP forums. Go to https://buddypress.org/community/groups/events-manager/ and click on the Support tab/link.
@hnla BP 1.7 after Xmas/New Year break I hope
@jacques24 You only need to create two new files, header-buddypress.php and sidebar-buddypress.php to make your theme compatible with BP.
If you’ve revised any of the BP template files transferred to your themorningafter theme folder in server during the BP Compatibility process, please delete the 6 BP folders transferred to your themorningafter theme folder in server – /activity, /blogs, /forums, /members, /groups, /register – then re-run Appearance > BP Compatibility again to make sure that you have clean template files.
A. COPY your theme’s header.php and Save As > header-buddypress.php
Open up header-buddypress.php and at the BOTTOM of the file, below other code contained within, add this:
`<?php
global $woo_options;
get_template_part( ‘top-banner’ );
?>
This is really a question for the theme in question, this forum is really meant to be for help with BP and it’s default theme.
But I see that you have already asked this exact same question :
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/frisco-theme-sidebar-of-width-300
So I suggest that you wait for a reply from that post firstly, cross posting the same question on multiple forums is considered a bad practise, if the theme author cannot help after a reasonable period then ask the question here or on other tech forums that might be able to help.
== In my profile page (http://www.luchotv.com/miembros/Luciano/profile/) it says “Base Name” with just my name as information, it looks like a group even though groups were disabled. ==
No, this is not part of a Group/Group Forums at all. /Luciano/profile/edit/group/1/ refers to the first group of Profile Fields. As you can create more profile fields based on your community, you can also create more than one group of Profile Fields to organize profile information – https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/configure-buddypress-components/#users-profile-fields
– Note that all the fields you add in the first group of Profile Fields will also show up in the Registration Form if you have that enabled. Those in the 2nd group or so will only show up in e.g. /Luciano/profile/edit/group/2/ and /Luciano/profile/edit/group/3/ if you have more than one or two groups of Profile Fields.
@infodebroekriemnl Based on the HTML structure of your theme, you need to change 16 template files within the 6 BP folders transferred to your esplanade theme folder in server during the compatibility process.
If you’ve previously changed any of the BP template files in your esplanade theme folder in server, replace all of them for a clean slate by deleting the 6 BP folders – /activity, /blogs, /forums, /groups, /members, and /registration – then re-run Appearance > BP Compatibility.

== I have “user groups” turned off in buddypress and “enable group forums” turned off too in bbpress. ==
@lucianoippolito
1. You need to turn off “Discussion Groups” in Settings > BuddyPress > Components if you only want Sitewide Forums (bbPress plugin) https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/#c-set-up-sitewide-forums-only
2. For good measure, delete “foro grupos” page in Pages > All Pages and delete it permanently
3. Delete bb-config.php file generated at root of your installation
add this to functions.php: it will filter the bbpress function that shows the avatar to switch it to using full.
`function fix_forum_avatar($author_avatar = false, $reply_id = false, $size = false) {
echo str_replace(‘-bpthumb’, ‘-bpfull’, $author_avatar );
}
add_filter(‘bbp_get_reply_author_avatar’, ‘fix_forum_avatar’);`
