ModeratorYou have an overloaded copy of themes/child-theme/buddypress/members/single/home.php it’s calling a function that is no longer used – bp_is_user_forum() this needs to be removed.

ParticipantHey, I get the same error “Call to undefined function bp_is_group_forum()” on the actual forum page with bbPress activated. This is coming from the BuddyPress Usernames Only plugin. Any idea why that might be happening?

ModeratorYep you’d need to install bbPress to get forums.

ParticipantI added link with function.php But how i set custom link (http://forum.site.com) for that?
/** * adds the profile user nav link */ add_action( 'bp_setup_nav', 'add_calendar_2_bp_nav_item' ); function add_calendar_2_bp_nav_item() { global $bp; $args = array( 'name' => __( 'Study Hall', 'buddypress' ), 'slug' => 'http://site.com', 'default_subnav_slug' => 'my-study', 'position' => 24, 'screen_function' => 'bp_nav_tab_stuff', 'item_css_id' => 'my-study', ); bp_core_new_nav_item( $args ); }June 17, 2018 at 7:19 pm #274512In reply to: bbpress languaje

ParticipantHi
Thank you for the quick response.
The question is which plugin?
I tried deactivating a couple starting with Aksimet and when I reached bbforum & buddypress & deactivated both: the pink background of the “Spammer” user disappeared, as well as the link “Extended”. They both do not reappear with bbforum activated. (See screenshot)
That made me assume it’s Buddypress that’s responsible for this pink background and the Extended link.
Moreover it’s under “Extended” edit of User on “wp-admin/users.php”, that one gets the status shown and where one can change from Spammer to Active, which will not work.So just wondering … Or may be I’m just overlooking something obvious?
Regards

ParticipantThanks. I looked at Auto Group Join, and am considering it. Registration Groups hasn’t been updated in a long time, so I’m a bit leery of that. I’ve also tried bbPress Private Groups, but I’m finding forum accessibility to be oddly inconsistent.
At the moment, I’m looking at:
1. Just BuddyPress – create lots of overlapping single-purpose groups.
2. Just bbPress & Private Groups – forget about the social aspect and just use structured fora.
3. Social media – give up and use a Google Group, Google+ community, or even [gulp] a Facebook group.June 9, 2018 at 9:46 pm #274270balebond
ParticipantJust a follow up. I got the method from this link to work and it hides the “whats new” form from non-admins on the group page.
However, now I notice that users still get the group in their “Post in:” list on their personal activity page and can circumvent. So, trying to figure this part out next.
Anyone know how to restrict that dropdown?

Participantgood evening everyone
I have a pb on my website and it blocks me because users have created their account
Indeed I am setting up a dating site:
– wordpress 4.9.6,
-theme: sweet
website link: http://hiv-rencontre.com
The plugin used for confirmation of email addresses is buddypress 3.1.0
The pb is that this user has created an account he does not receive the confirmation email, and his account can not be active
I have already looked in a lot of forums and even that buddypress website without finding any solution to my problem.
I already used WP Mail SMTP, it sends the test messages.
The contact messages form7 and the password reset ones leave well, but for registration confirmation mails, the email is not sent
I uninstalled buddypress and I tried natively with wordpress it goes without problem so I do not know if the problem is with buddypress, because I even had to uninstall all the plugins but until the nothing.
Thank you for helping me because it’s really urgent,

ModeratorYep that’s Varun’s plugin, if you post on the plugin forum direct you should be ble to get support there, otherwise as I say Varun typically drops by around this time.

ModeratorFound it, that one is supported by Varun, he normally looks in on this forum about this time. I’ve also got a shortcodes plugin BP Profile Shortcodes Extra, maybe it has some features you could use.

ModeratorIt’s no longer relevant, this was checking for legacy forums which are now no longer supported, so you can just remove it.
Venutius
ModeratorIt’s because you have overloaded the template file in
themes/kleo.buddypress/members/single/home.phpit’s trying to load an obsolete function `bp_is_user_forums() on line 102. If you did not create this file you need to speak to your theme support to fix it, otherwise the solution is to remove that function basically, it’s usually in an if function.stevenseagal

ModeratorHi there,
If you go to Dashboard>>Appearance>>Menus you will see an option to add individual forums to your menu. If you just want to add the Forums page you can add that as a page.

/*forum masquer le bouton adhérer/quitter le groupe*/ a.group-button.request-membership{display:none !important;} a.group-button.leave-group{display:none !important;)I do not know why it did not previously, maybe some cache on server, but anyhow, buttons have disappeared now.
