Participant`Call to undefined function bp_displayed_user_id() in C:xampphtdocsbpwp-contentpluginsbuddypressbp-corebp-core-template.php on line 1117`
I got that error too when I clicked on the update wizard. Good thing it didn’t let me run the database update yet so it was as easy as just replacing the plugin folder with the one I backed up beforehand. I tried renaming the theme folder before reverting to the old version, but it wouldn’t read the default Twenty Eleven theme.

Roger Coathup
Participant@Khairul We’ve just worked on that this week.
Whilst, the template message is stored in $bp->template_message, it is also stored as a cookie.
It’s the text in the cookie that’s predominantly used (on page refresh) for the notice. To overwrite / change the content once a message had been set, we had to change the cookie.
As @djpaul says, if it’s just to strip paragraphs etc. you could look at the filter bp_core_render_message_content.
Unfortunately, the `
` around it is hardcoded in the core function – and difficult to strip out without hacking the core function.@djpaul — perhaps that’s some output html that needs removing from the core, and moving into the theme in a future release

Keymaster“Site wide notifications” show up as a side panel inside the Messages are on the default theme. Is that what you were referring to?

KeymasterJust put “global $bp;” in the PHP above where you need to use it. It’s better to find a function that provides the information you need directly, rather than accessing globals like this (though it’s a perfectly valid thing to want to do).
For example, to get the logged in user’s ID: get_current_user_id()

miguelcortereal
Participant@shawn38, it wasn’t at theme’s folder but in child theme and site public root.
As recomended at WordPress Codex it goes to the current theme’s folder which is the child theme.
Added also the snippet of code at header.php for older browsers to be able of display it.
Just added to default theme folder and he same result nothing changes.

KeymasterI’ve seen a few issues with Salutation, I’m hoping they talk to us so we can find out if these issues are regressions in BuddyPress, or because something’s wrong in the theme.
August 8, 2012 at 11:33 am #138773@mercime
ParticipantLikely a theme issue. What theme are you using? Has your theme been updated for BP 1.6? Rename your theme’s folder via FTP/FileManager/etc so it will go to default Twenty Eleven theme. When you get into wp-admin, change theme to bp-default theme.

InactiveIf you have access to your servers file manager make sure the favicon.ico is in your themes folder, in you child themes folder, and at the site public root. It doesn’t hurt anything to have a copy of it in all of these directories.

ParticipantHi Ray
Thanks for your very quick response.
My friend who looks after the technical side of my website for me tried doing this, but it hasn’t worked, she says it’s because we have a custom theme.
Thanks anyway.August 8, 2012 at 11:01 am #138769@mercime
Participant@kalyan_bs https://wordpress.org/extend/themes/eclipse
To fix alignment in Step 3 of the BP cmpatibility process. initial scan shows that you would need to revise 16 BP template files which were transferred into your eclipse theme folder during BP compatibility process. If you still want to proceed, let us know here.

ModeratorHi raminjan, it all depends on your theme really as to what course of action to take. Would it be possible to link to your site to see? You say BuddyPress default but is it customised in any shape?
Failing that usually a sidebar would involve some floating element for instance a pattern could be:
`#newsidebar{
float:right;
width:22%
}`August 8, 2012 at 7:38 am #138757notpoppy
Participant@mercime Thanks for the reply, answers are as follows:
* Group Forums
* Custom-built child theme based on Buddypress default theme (as I can’t replicate the problem myself I’ve been unable to test whether the fault persists when I switch themes)
* The only membership plugin I’m using is User Role Editor. I’ve used this to create a new Subscriber role I’ve called ‘Super Subscriber’ which has one extra function. However both ordinary Subscribers and Super Subscribers have reported being able to see these extra icons.

ParticipantI am using bp-default theme, disabled responsiveness. (Android Phone)
Everything works fine, only activity streams not showing.
When it is loading, I can see the activity streams. As soon as the Admin Bar loaded, Activity Streams disappeared.

MemberOne thing I forgot to mention…the listings functionality I would like to store in a folder that is located either within my current themes directory or somewhere within the buddypress plugin directory. Either location doesn’t matter as long as a separate folder exists.
Thanks again.

@mercime
Participant@ermito looks like it’s a theme issue – Salutation. To double-check, change to bp-default theme and check if issue is resolved. If it is, then contact Salutation theme author re updating to BP 1.6

Participant== This only happens when they are browsing in the Forums. ==
Group Forums or bbPress sitewide forums? What theme are you using? Also, are you using any membership plugin?
August 8, 2012 at 2:39 am #138735kmtrent
ParticipantYes, I am trying to connect with the theme and plugin support forums as well. I am pretty sure it is not a connection with Events Manager or Gravity Forms as both of these plugins are working correctly on the website right now. Found someone else to look at the back end, and hope to find a resolution. Will share it here if I discover the source of this trauma.

ParticipantI recommend you post your observations with Themekraft as well. I imagine that they’ve been working with the beta/RC and now final version, so they should already know what may be happening…
August 8, 2012 at 2:11 am #138732@mercime
Participant@rodtrent could be a bug. If WLW won’t still work after deactivating all plugins except BuddyPress and changing to bp-default theme, do create a new ticket at BP trac (log in using same username and password used here) https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/newticket
When you do, give all necessary information to replicate the issue – BP/WP versions, single/multisite, plugins/theme used, Windows or Linux server, etc.August 8, 2012 at 2:06 am #138731@mercime
Participant@manswab Initial scan of the code shows that you would have to change 16 BP template files from the six BP folders transferred to your active WP theme during the BP compatibility process. What’s the name of your theme? Site URI or URI to the theme’s demo page would help us get it right much faster.
August 8, 2012 at 1:53 am #138730@mercime
ParticipantIs BP installed in main site or subsite? Are you using the same theme for your main site and subdomains? Are your plugins compatible with at least BP 1.5?
August 8, 2012 at 1:50 am #138729kmtrent
ParticipantI am able to manuever through the site, view forums, and create a group, but I can’t invite anyone to a group or add a friend or access my Dashboard. I have posted on every support forum I know! What code should I look for in my themes or plugins that could be causing this? IF that is the issue…
I did not have a problem until I updated Buddy Press to 1.6
