In reply to: [Resolved] Users Registration Page Not Showing Up
bhappy
ParticipantI checked it with the bp-default theme and it did not work there either. The registration page I’m using is the one the bp setup for me by default http://www.mysite.com/register but it goes automatically to my homepage http://www.mysite.com/

ParticipantDoes it work if you switch to the bp-default theme? ( If it does, you would be better asking the question on the Dynamix forums).
See also, my question above about which URL you are using for registration… what do you have for your registration page (check in wp-admin); what are you entering in your browser to try and reach the registration page?

ParticipantWhich theme? What URL are you using for registration?
Are you already logged in (if you are, you will be redirected away from registering)?
Have you enabled new user registrations in wp-admin?

Participant@timetraveler – add the following at the bottom of your stylesheet.
`ul#activity-stream div.activity-meta {
clear: left;
margin-bottom: 15px;
position: static;
}.activity-list li.mini .activity-content {
margin-right: 25px !important;
}`July 21, 2012 at 6:19 am #137715In reply to: Atahualpa theme and BuddyPress installation
@mercime
ParticipantWe “template-packed” Atahualpa i.e., install BP template Pack plugin and go through Appearance > BP Compatibility. Instructions for Step 3 are found in following link https://buddypress.org/community/groups/installing-buddypress/forum/topic/footer-is-in-left-column-on-buddypress-pages/ — though you should read through the end of the topic as you might want to reconsider using Atahualpa

July 20, 2012 at 8:58 pm #137694In reply to: Display Group Meta Elsewhere on Page
ndugger
ParticipantI’m having an issue, now that I’ve tried to do it on my own.
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare groups_get_groupmeta() (previously declared in /home/indiefo/public_html/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-groups/bp-groups-functions.php:893) in /home/indiefo/public_html/wp-content/themes/bp-indiefolio/proj_sb.php on line 9
So, I guess my new question is, how to I redeclare a function? or can I even? How do I display the meta without this error?

ParticipantAnother point I just realised, it will now default to the custom group someone is a member of, rather than ‘my profile’. It sorts multiple groups by their ID, the highest ID is the one that get’s selected…
This is the code I’ve got from lines 33 – 71 in post-form.php in the theme (BuddyPress Corporate)
`
<input type="submit" name="aw-whats-new-submit" id="aw-whats-new-submit" value="" />:<?php if ( bp_has_groups( 'user_id=' . bp_loggedin_user_id() . '&type=alphabetical&max=100&per_page=100&populate_extras=0' ) ) :
while ( bp_groups() ) : bp_the_group(); ?>
<option selected="selected" value="">
<?php endwhile;
endif; ?><input type="hidden" id="whats-new-post-in" name="whats-new-post-in" value="" />
`

ParticipantNo, that’s not the right place to look. The drop down is set up in a front end theme file: post-form.php in the activity folder of the bp-default theme.
In your child and / or bespoke theme, add a post-form.php file modified as you need to reorder the drop down.

ModeratorTo see if it is a theme issue have you tried or can you try the default theme and see what it does? I know in an active community this may not always be possible but it would be an indication once and for all if theme related.
Aside from that it could very well be a theme versus plugin issue and some scripting clashes. To determine / start looking at that though would it be possible to have a link to the site?

ModeratorI’d use the default theme as a sanity check because that will tell you if set up or theme – hopefully
July 20, 2012 at 10:47 am #137659sammour
MemberI am not sure if we’ve checked the favorite on the default theme, but on the live demo of the theme elsewhere it worked fine.

ModeratorAs a sanity check have you tried the default theme on it? What happens with that and favourites?
Also, here is a codex page relevant to using WordPress in a directory. https://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory
July 20, 2012 at 9:10 am #137650sammour
MemberMight it have anything to do with the site being set up on a directory rather than the main domain name?
July 20, 2012 at 8:57 am #137649sammour
Member@karmatosed Thank you. I’ve tried going through some of the issues you’ve mentioned. Thing is I am new to wordpress/buddpress and not much experienced in JQuery either. If you could please elaborate a little bit on the scripting errors I would be grateful

July 20, 2012 at 6:22 am #137643In reply to: How to give users Some sort of Adminsitration?
Paul Wong-Gibbs
KeymasterBuddyPress doesn’t have much to do with this. WordPress requires users to be the ‘administrator’ role to delete user accounts. You could change this with a role changing plugin, by giving the appropriate capabilities directly.
Posting on the front page is a theme issue more than anything (assuming you’re talking about blog post).

ParticipantAdd Firebug plugin if you’re using Firefox then right>click to “inspect Element”, and you’ll find out what style is making the button 100% width. If you use Google Chrome, just proceed to right click and “inspect element”.

ModeratorUsually when you can’t favorite something it’s either:
– A template issue (not using correct code to favourite)
– JQuery scripting error – I do see you have a few js errors so it may be those
– Perm link issue (You can reset these by going to settings and saving them).July 19, 2012 at 6:17 pm #137620 -
