Keymaster@Scorpiion4984 Remember this is a support forum, not a ‘do work for me for free’ forum. Mercime has already spent lots of time writing documentation for this sort of task (the codex.BuddyPress.org link above). Copy the CSS into your theme’s style.css.
If you don’t understand how to do this, or further adjust the CSS to fit your site, I would suggest either learning the basics of CSS — it’s pretty straightforward — or hire a developer to help you on your site.

MemberHi
Yeah, I tried different combinations of those lines. I then made everything as the tutorial stated when I posted yes-today. Now it looks like this.
http://pastebin.com/dtEyTY84
which produces this errorParse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/t/e/ftp_teamrampagedk/wp-content/themes/ifeaturepro/groups/index.php on line 131

ParticipantTo start off, delete the styles you added in your stylesheet for `.item .item-meta ` – the absolute positioning placed the activity meta over the names of the groups and members
Copy over the styles used https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/theme-dev-bp-template-pack-walkthrough-twenty-ten-bp-1-5/3/ and adjust to taste.

Participant@gggamers something’s getting lost in translation. WP/BP versions? Did you go through the Installation Wizard and choose settings other than default permalink, among others? What theme are you using? Change to bp-default and check if issue is corrected.
May 6, 2012 at 3:57 am #134046@mercime
ParticipantDid you copy the styles from Twenty Ten per link I posted in Instruction D. above?
May 6, 2012 at 3:51 am #134045@mercime
Participant@scorpiion4984 cannot see what’s wrong –> I get under construction page.

MemberI managed to fix the issue with the sidebar. I just had to move the call function for the sidebar outside the div tag and it seems to work now..
Still trying to figure out what I need to do to change the CSS and only effect the buddypress part of the template though..

ParticipantJust noticed that I posted an extra period (.) just before ``, please remove it.
line 127 in your pastebin shows “ have you tried removing that?

ParticipantWhat theme are you using? If you’re using a WP theme and installed BP Template Pack, did you keep bp.css enabled?

MemberHi
I was (still am, but now also frustrated) thrilled to find this walk through of how to set up buddypress on ifeaturepro’s theme.
I have follow these steps twice, with the same result – some fatal error.
You can see the result here http://teamrampage.dk/grupper-pa-team-rampage/
and the code here http://pastebin.com/3nyACcj9Could you shed some light on what the issue is here?
Thx in advance

Member@mercime Thanks again for the help!
It’s looking tonnes better now.
There is one issue that the widgets are still showing up in the main content instead of in the right sidebar – http://progressivetalks.com/activity
is there something else I need to edit to get this working? I have the widget logic plugin so I can specify where I want widgets (there are some specific widgets I want in buddypress) but I must still need to define this sidebar in the buddypress pages or?
Also, just in terms of the final step of styling.. Just to clarify, I should copy the code supplied in the template tutorial and then modify that? I need to learn CSS so I am going through it, but is this the step where I can copy some of the styling over from Frisco?
Would it be a matter of just getting the styling from Frisco and copying into my style.css?

@mercime
ParticipantDeactivate BuddyPress and any other BP plugin. Re-upload theglobalsport theme files like I mentioned previously and check that the WordPress section – posts/pages – are working as expected.
If everything’s working on the WP side, then activate BuddyPress and BP template pack plugin.and run Appearance > BP Compatibility. Only then do you implement the instructions I posted above.

ParticipantB. Create a BLANK sidebar-buddypress.php
Open up the blank sidebar-buddypress.php and add the following code:
`NOTE: This sidebar is empty, <a href="/wp-admin/widgets.php”>click here and add widgets to the Sidebar (Page) widgetised area.`
Save file.
C. Upload header-buddypress.php and sidebar-buddypress.php to your theme folder in server wp-content/themes/theglobalsport/ at the same directory where your regular header.php and sidebar.php files are in
D. Final note: Copy the style modifications for some BP elements https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/theme-dev-bp-template-pack-walkthrough-twenty-ten-bp-1-5/3/ and paste those at the bottom of your theme’s stylesheet, then adjust to taste.

@mercime
Participant@nsbalgcom You will only need to create two new files, header-buddypress.php and sidebar-buddypress.php
If you’ve revised any of the BP template files transferred to your theglobalsport theme folder in server during the BP Compatibility process, please delete the 6 BP folders transferred to your theglobalsport theme folder in server – /activity, /blogs, /forums, /members, /groups, /register – then re-run Appearance > BP Compatibility again to make sure that you have clean template files.
A. COPY your theme’s header.php and Save As > header-buddypress.php
Open up header-buddypress.php and at the BOTTOM of the file, below other code contained within, add this:
``Save file.

Membera problem just recently occurred when changing the first pastebin’s index.php I sent you, to the default version of index.php. The members and few pages stopped working. Is there a fix? or should I just use the previous code? pages were working fine then.
I think WP/BP fixed the code at the set up so the pages worked fine? That index.php pastebin you had previously with the members in the header of code was my main index.php for my theme.
I guess that

on the right will be the sidebar.http://pastebin.com/nd2MtXdL = index.php
The left column will be the news/content/buddypress area, sidebar on right for widgets and everything else. Can you assign the sidebar to the Sidebar (page) widget/coulum. I think I said it right, but what I am saying is that, there’s types of sidebars in my theme theme such as:
Sidebar (page)
sidebar (post)
sidebar (archives)
sidebar (category)
etcPAGE sidebar will be the most efficient to use on the right.

@mercime
Participant@nsbalgcom before proceeding with the alignment fix, re-upload TheGlobalSport theme files again in your server. Something went awry and the BP Members index.php file should not be at the root of your TheGlobalSport theme folder that you would paste it here as your theme’s index.php file.
Looks like we’d only need to create two files, upload to theme folder and you’re good to go.
Last thing though, where do you want your sidebar to be —
a) in default sidebar on the right
OR
b) sidebar on the left?May 5, 2012 at 12:18 am #134015In reply to: [Resolved] Customising Alyeska Theme for Buddypress

May 4, 2012 at 11:21 pm #134013@mercime
Participant@rafferjr Based on the HTML structure of your theme, you’d need to use the first option, i.e., change 16 template files within the 6 BP folders transferred to your admired theme folder in server during the compatibility process.

Member@mercime everything I’ve copied and paste was taken from the correct file. I was confused with the index.php file as well, but that what what was given.
index.php = http://pastebin.com/JbiEchdi
page.php = http://pastebin.com/5vEEpkVN
footer.php = http://pastebin.com/gZn20UJE
header.php = http://pastebin.com/r13m7W6RThere is no sidebar.php? I think it’s because of the format of my template.
