@danbp thanks for the tip. That activity sticky gives me another option to enhance the site, but I still need to have the ability to have new activity on past updates/posts bump to the top of the activity stream.
The only plugin that seems to do everything we need is
But it hasn’t been updated since 2011 and after testing it doesn’t work on my site.
I see many others who are asking for the same thing so not sure why there is nothing else available.
Do you have any suggestions?

Don’t know any other source than Trac or Git mirror.
If you need to know such precise things, almost constantly, the best for you would to connect to by SVN or Git.
So you will be informed in real time which BP file is modified.
That said, templates are relatively quiet in regard of more in-depth core files….
And on Trac you have a revision number, so it’s easy to follow. And even on codex.

Every time we get a new BP version I am confused re my custom theme. Yes, after we have a bp-legacy, updating became much easier, but still, how do we know, which bp files were updated in the latest release?

Branches https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/browser#branches/2.2/src/bp-templates/bp-legacy/buddypress/activity show all files + age, but we don’t see the version (when file was changed).
Is there some third source (list of changed files) I am not aware of, so that I wouldn’t have to compare my custom theme files to latest BP?

I am using wordpress 4.1.1 and buddypress Version 2.2.1
When I try to create a new Group it allows me to Put in the name of the Group, and when I hit next, it shows in the browser like it goes to the settings page, but it does not bring up any of the settings.
Whem I click next nothing comes up. I can type in the browser this link http://www.earndailypay.com/groups/create/step/group-avatar/
and it will act like it’s on the Avator page, but nothing on the page like the settings page.
When I maually type in the browser groups/create/step/group-invite/ it acts as it going to the invite page but again nothing comes up. When I click Finish it goes back to the Details Page.
When I type in the Group Name in the Browser it appears there, but it will not all me to create any new ones. That group still shows like it needs to be finished, although it appears in my groups.
I have tried to, switch to twenty fourteen and still getting the same error so I tried to uninstall buddypress, deleting it and reinstalled it, and I am still getting that error. My Tested one of my other WP Sites the same version of BP & WP and it creates new groups just fine amy suggestions.
Can this be reported to BuddyPress dev team?

If I’m using is_page(), with page id or slug which is the default WordPress conditional tag, it’s obvious, that I want to display this widget only on this page, no on the all of the group or member single pages.
In the previous version I don’t have this issue. Can this be reported to BuddyPress dev team?

You should look at the plugin’s documentation to find out if template tags are provided and then copy the relevant ones (if available) into your activity template. For more info on template tags see the Template Tags article.
Any ideas on this? Legacy wordpress posts simply do not show up buddypress activity streams.

Hello, Im Actually new on WordPress, and I’ve been working on my web page which is http://www.elparchestereo.com and the thing is that i saw your plugin and I thought that’s actually what i need it, because my web address is about a Radio Station, and what i want is to have like a socal site , that all my listeners can register and be there, do like a regular social media, and i have few questions to resolve that I haven’t been able.
first is that,when that ppl register and comes out the message that check the email to activate the account, i want that message to be in spanish and english, how can i translate that?..
Second: when the ppl recieved the email and clicked where it says to activate, it automatically transfer to a page that says 404 you got to the wrong place …. something , something.
How can i fix that?..
And Also I have this message on my desk “Each BuddyPress Component needs its own WordPress page. The following WordPress Pages have more than one component associated with them..” How can I fix those components, how its supposed to go, because i tried and that just made a worst mess, and since then i havent been able to fix it, i think thats the main reason for everything.
Sorry for so much, but I dont have anybody else helping me with this and i have done the best i can fixing my page , but this has been making me crazy trying to figure it out.

Thanks for the follow-up response. I’m going through and disabling these one-by-one as the issue rears it’s ugly face again. So far, I’ve turned off AiOSP and Akismet (the most recent turn off). Contact Form 7 has been off for about a week at this point.
We shall see what happens next!

But alas, nothing resulted from this. For some reason when I went in to CHMOD it back to 644 this morning (I changed it to 444 yesterday), it was mysteriously set back to the default 644 already. Not sure what to make of that.

Furthermore, I can create a group with my plugin WITH the “this groups has a forum” checkmark (but remember – my problem is that i can’t ACTUALLY create the forum). I can go into the “groups” area in the WP backend and simply edit the group and hit ‘update’ and WordPress DOES create the group. So it works there, but not in myplugin. I’m thinking that bbPress simply isn’t being loaded or activated prior to my plugin but I can’t figure it where or why.
This field is fully part of WP registration process. And WP doesn’t use “email confirmation”.

My WP version is 4.1.1
BuddyPress version is 2.2.1 and I’ve tested default TwentyFifteen theme.
I have a problem with Widget Logic (and another plugin which uses similar WordPress conditional tags) plugin, when I’m trying to add widget and specify in the widget logic:
is_page('19')
The widget is visible on page with id 19, but also on all member and group pages. I think that the problem is connected with the fact that body class on these pages looks like:
page page-id-0
in the previous version of BP, single member and groupp pages have id of the parent page (i.e. Members)
Any idea how to solve the issue?

Activate TwentyFifteen and deactivate all plugins except BuddyPress.
See it the issue is still in.
Reactivate each plugin one by one untill you find a culptrit
If you have to disable activity auto-refresh, this is telling me that there are other problems.
Try re-enabling auto-refresh and use Firebug to see what JS errors are being logged. Also try purging your browser cache to determine that you are running the latest BP JS.
Activity auto-refresh uses the WP Heartbeat API. The relevant JS is here:

Yes, the activity component has an assigned page.
The problem happens with all the default themes from wordpress.
@r-a-y I thought so. But my javascript is enabled. Tried from different browsers and computers.
And yes, I installed Buddypress from the Wp admin dashboard.

UPDATE: I “temporarily” solved the problem. I just disabled “Activity Auto-refresh: Automatically check for new items while viewing the activity stream”. Now, it works.
But, I would like to use the Activity Autorefresh. But I feel we are getting closer to the problem. Do you know what file is used for the “Activity Auto-refresh” feature? So I can debug even further and see what is causing the conflict.

It’s a problem with any theme using the TrueThemes framework:

They are trying to force comments open on WP pages. When their code hits a BuddyPress page, their code will generate a new page due to the way they are forcing comments open and because the BuddyPress page ID is 0.
Themes using the TrueThemes framework can use this code snippet to disable their force comments code:
