In reply to: 500 and 404 errors on IIS 7.5Have you tried to use your WPMU alone at first ?
I recommand you to test anything in WPMU (creating blogs, users, sending mails, etc)
If all is ok, install buddypress and deactivate all the 7 BP plugins (buddypress ->options) exept one . View if it’s working, activate the second, and so on…
In reply to: Problem – Can not update BuddypressSee your server configuration. Could be a php memory problem. WPMU need at least 64 Mb…

In reply to: Upgrading BP -> getting White Screen@quaker-oats (breakfast man ?)
1. I deactivated all plugins. OK
2. I first upgraded to WPMU 2.9.1 successfully. OK
3. Then I tried manually overwriting the old BP plugins folder, with the new BP 1.2 folder.
As written in the readme, it’s better you erase the old BP folders (after making a copy) before installing 1.2
To be sure that ALL files are the new one.
4. I then deleted the themes folder.
The theme folder belongs to WPMU, why did you erase it ?
BP 1.2 themes are in a bp-theme folder ans this folder doesn’t need to be moved, as by the past version.
WPMU now detect automatically the BP theme.
In reply to: White page after activating pluginDeactivate all your plugins, then try to install bp again and reactivate bp first and the other plug one by one.
if the blank page still occurs, see how much php memory_limit you have on your server.
i answered also on the above linked tread.
In reply to: Upgrading BP -> getting White ScreenThere is probably a plugin incompatibility.
Install wpmu, deactivate all your plugin.
Install BP; see if all is ok
reactivate the other plugins
if you have no other plugins and only BP and again the blank page error, check your php config and see how much memory_limit you have on your server.

In reply to: Is growing memory a progress ?A gold medal for Andy and Erich, even if your answer give’s me solutions but didn’t answer my question.
The solution:
I installed e-accelerator and some backend widgets “fatal errors” disappeared. Now i can continue to test other parts of my install.
The question is already valuable: is memory extending a progress ?
I have a wp, now i have a wp + a script accelerator. And tomorrow, would i have the same + a wind propulsed cache server with a individual solar energy drived monitor and some chinese hiphoped php scripts ?
Is “all” the wp code really optimized at this time, so that the unique alternative for users
is to add some outsourced accessories. Why not integrate this ?
Or why not explain this in the readme, at the beginning of a install ? I speak in the perspective of a newbie who discover WP. (not exactly my case presently).
Thanks !
In reply to: PHP Fatal error RC2 -> RC3Did you retrieve the old theme folders ?

In reply to: PHP Fatal error RC2 -> RC3No exact idea about how many memory is needed for BP, but for wp-mu it is in the wp-settings.php :
line13: define(‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ’64M’);
For WP single it is 32M…

To know the php memory_limit on your server, use:

In reply to: Downgrade WordPress MU to a standard WordPress?sorry to be a little out of topic, but if you speak about future, i would ask what about code optimization and php memory ?
When reading on the codex, nothing is said that WP need by default 32 mo php RAM.
And the wp-health plugin is still under alpha dev…
And sure there is a problem with php memory.
On most shared host, this php memory is set to 16 Mo max… and no way to give more (even throught htaccess, wp-settings, wp-config tricks..)
This mean that WP/Mu can’t work with more than 4 or 5 plugins in best case.
And since 2.8, the memory consumption is growing a lot.
