I am using Extended Profile for a user registration form. I’d like to use the default WordPress bio field (Biographical info). I am able to add it in the Extended Profile settings (under Type -> WordPress Fields -> Biography), but there is no option to require it. I can make other fields required. How could I go about making that field required?
WordPress 6.5.4
BuddyPress 12.5.0Hi!
I’m using your plugin and I have a problem – when I open a member’s profile page, it takes at least 20 seconds to load. And while debugging, I found out that just this check of the bp_has_profile() function takes 18-19 seconds. I want to somehow speed up the page and the main problem is that.
Can you help me to solve it.

WordPress Username Availability Checker 1.1.8I have configured a new Register page using ERForms. I’ve created just a wordpress page which has only a shortcode to the ERform.
I’ve set it at buddypress settings-> Pages -> register. Buddypress is redirecting to the wordpress regitration page instead of my page.
I’ve also changed the redirection at buddypress setting to whatever page (for example my FAQ page) and always redirects to the wordpress registration page.I’ve tried also deactivating all plugin but buddypress and ERforms and no, buddypress is always redriecting to the standard wordpress registration page instead of what I am setting.
Any hint / idea what to cope this problem?
Thnks in advance
Topic: profile photo not uploadable
Hello community. I’d like to use Buddypress but with this configuration:
fresh wordpress installation 5.4.9 , php 8 , with only Buddypress 10.0 plugin activated on twenty nineteen theme it is not possible to add personal photo as subscriber role nor author role.I had already tried with wordpress installation 5.9 , php 7.2 , with only Buddypress plugin activated on twenty twenty theme.
The only difference is that now it’s always written “There was a problem cropping your profile photo.”

Someone has a solution or Buddypress has gone forever?
Do you know another plugin to use for creating a community?
Many thanks,
Giuseppe
Although the versions of the listed plugins are current, we have been having this problem thru several updates of all of them.
we are using
Buddypress 9.1.1
BP Profile Search 5.4.3
BuddyPress XProfile Image Field 2.3.1
PaidMembershipPro 2.6.2
WordPress 5.8.1I have a separate field for each name part. (member, jointMember, lastname)
However, in a growing number of cases, the member name is right but the lastname becomes “and jointMember Lastname”
Least of the problems with this is that sorting members by last name puts a whole bunch of people in the “A” part of the alphabet and it screws up the value of exports for other reasons. We have manually changed the last name field to LastName
but INSTANLY it changes back to “and jointMember Lastname”
AND the number of these instances is growing.I have had a long running conversation with PMPro but we have not been able to track down the problem.
I suspect it is some kind of issue between the profile of buddypress and pmpro
but I have no idea where to look.
Thanks
Kerch

Hello!
I have a question about groups.
I searched for this question and did not find any matching questions.I’m also new to wordpress/buddypress, so please bear with me 🙂
Here is my site https://uwcnorthyork.ca/
WordPress version: 5.4.2
BuddyPress version: 2.3.0My question is:
When a user requests permission to join a group, is there a way to get an email sent to the moderator of that group, (so they can accept them)?
Right now the email goes to the site admin (me) which is ok, but its important that it goes to the moderator as well. If it can only go to one of these, then I would like it to be the moderator.Any help would be appreciated.
When trying to create a group a red error shows on the page saying (There was an error saving group details. Please try again.)
But the group is getting created.Wordpress – 5.4.2
EDUMA – 4.2.9
Learnpress – 3.2.7.7My WP version is 5.4.2
My BuddyPress version is 6.3.0I’m currently trying to figure out how I can get @-mentions in blog post comments to integrate with the buddypress activity and notifications systems. The most recent comments of #4046 claims notifications should be sent for @-mentions in blog posts at the very least, but I can’t seem to get it to work. Other threads asking this question point to this ticket claiming it’s an unimplemented feature, so between what the forums say and what the ticket comments say I can’t tell if that’s actually how it’s supposed to work or not.
So my question is, is sending notifications for @-mentions in blog posts supported in BuddyPress? And if so, is this feature currently working?
Topic: hidden groups visibility
Sorry – posted this in the wrong forum (Creating & Extending):
Hello all,
I just figured the group feature which is an awesome add-on ! So far it works perfectly fine for me, however, I want to raise a discussion regarding hidden groups: Of course a hidden group may not show up in the groups directory, however, when I am the admin of a hidden group it does not even show up in the group configuration panel. Neither it does in the group listing of group members.
Is this the conceptual behavior of this feature or is there space for discussion ? I’d personally like the group to be visible in both cases. From the docs I understood that in the admin section hidden groups should be visible.
Thanks,
bestAlex
P.S.: I am using WP Version 5.4.2 and BP Version 6.2
Hello all,
my users have created groups more than 32 visible groups (1 public, 31 private) already but in the public directory only 17 of them are being displayed. I can change from alphabetical to newly created or anything else and indeed it updates the list but the total amount is always 17 only. Is there way to change this ?
Thanks in advance,
bestAlex

Does anyone know if there is a way that we can disable public facing user profiles? We have noticed that the public facing user profiles use the user’s email address as their @ username and thus exposes the users email address.
Also, when we navigate to /members this exposes a list of all of our members. Is there a way to disable this as well?
We are using WordPress 5.4.2 the BuddyBoss theme with BuddyPress 5.2.0 and LearnDash LMS.
If anyone can point me in the right direction I would be eternally grateful!

I have this site: https://prodicallearning.com/
When a user registers this site he gets an activation email with activation URL and key.
But when the user enters the key it shows Error: “COULD NOT CREATE USER”.
And when I try to register again with the same email it shows “Email Already exists”.
When I try to login by the same credentials it shows ” There is a problem with the username and password”.
When I again visit the activation page it shows user already activated. But the users are not listed anywhere.
