Participant@ EthanVan, thank you. I changed the default theme and it worked, the theme is custom-community that this is not working with this option.

Now, that’s bad practice right there. Ever heard of release early, release often?
I agree that the codex isn’t anywhere near where it should be. But holding a release up to finish documentation shouldn’t happen.

ModeratorDont get discouraged, any little bit helps.

ParticipantUm… speaking about the Codex, I am trying to access the page and it is blank!

SpectatorWell one without the other is just pointless. Hey! Lets make apple pie! It’s the best apple pie ever, but we don’t have any time to write down the recipe… That’s just illogical and so is the release of new versions of BP without documentation. It’s bad practice to say the least and will certainly contribute to the demise of BP eventually.
Let me know when someone gets serious about BP. I’ll be working on something better organized in the meanwhile. SMH

SpectatorDominio.com is now MyDomain.com. I’d say that’s your problem right there.

ModeratorNo way is the codex holding up a release. In my opinion the codex is a lost cause without a significant amount of volunteers to manage the content. It’s downright depressing and probably a turn off to people deciding if BuddyPress is the right choice.
I recently have been going over the structure and content of the WP codex and even though some of its content is lacking it is by far more helpful than what is here but like i said this codex just doesn’t have the workforce to make it what it should be. Also I feel some of the non developers in the BuddyPress community should jump in to contribute. If i had more time i would but i use my time for development not documentation. Thanks for your effort!

Participant@modemlooper Thank you, the suggestion of multisite was correct. Integrated with BuddyPress, the site tracking page shows the sites created and appears a button create site. but the button does not work, directing this to the directory dominio.com/blogs/create and appears page not found. can help?
November 18, 2012 at 5:11 am #145247In reply to: Plugin: BP FriendPress
EthanVan
SpectatorFriendPress has been reported to work. I tried it and was unable to make it work with my current versions of WP and BP (the newest). The author reportedly fixed it, but then he removed it from the repo before I could download his update so I’m not sure if this version I have will work with your versions or WP and BP.
My advice is wait for @aaron-nall to release his plugin.

SpectatorWhat version of BuddyPress are you using?
November 18, 2012 at 2:31 am #145240ryancharleston
ParticipantYep, it looks like for my buddypress pages the “Canonical Redirect” was disabled. Re-enabling it with a higher priority than the buddypress filters did the trick. Luckily my developer figure out what was wrong and fixed it.

@mercime
ParticipantI would re-upload BuddyPress manually, i.e., via FTP/FileManager/etc. and deactivate all other plugins.

@mercime
ParticipantSomething like this https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bp-gifts-rebirth/ – have not checked whether it still works for BP 1.6 but it’s more recent than the ol’ https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-gifts/

Participant@wpnewbie69 – Have you tried the troubleshooting steps I mentioned above?

ParticipantYou will need to edit your theme to pull this off.
Try googling the following: “display xprofile fields on member page buddypress”

ParticipantI believe what you are looking for is in the bp-members-template.php fiile inside of “buddypress”->”bp-members”.

ParticipantHow to remove friends function and add follow function ?
Hello ,
I wanted to add follow functions same like twitter in my BuddyPress site , I wanted to remove friendship function completely , I don’t want to use any plugins , I wanted to change core file , where should I edit ??November 17, 2012 at 8:11 pm #145224In reply to: cannot join groups
@mercime
Participant== but the first plugin I have installed as problems. ==
@kar3n2 Which one is it? Have you deactivated it then?
== How do we join groups? ==
Not clear, are you referring to your own installation or to BuddyPress.org groups? In any case, here’s some info about BP groups for your reference https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/group-settings-and-roles/

@mercime
Participant@ubernaut None that I know of. It’s just natural on my part to warn that a plugin I posted about in this forum has not been updated for some time based on the information on plugin repo page
