You can also select to show or hide the WordPress admin bar on your own profile.

If none of those work for you then you may need to look see if your theme is forcing something.

bp_is_group_admin_screen is still in BuddyPress 1.6.

The BuddyBar has been merged with the WordPress bar in this version of BuddyPress. It actually has a lot more functionality. There is some discussion on this topic https://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/how-can-i-use-old-buddypress-admin-bar-if-i-dont-want-to-use-this-new-one-in-1-6/ that may give you a few more options.

The error is reported from the buddypress-group-documents plugin. Get in contact with the plugin’s author and let them know.

Just to check, have you updated your theme to BuddyPress 1.6? Or have you made changes to your theme to reflect those in BuddyPress 1.6?

Any errors in your web server’s PHP error log? If you don’t know what that is, ask your web host to look at it for you.

After Updating buddypress, admin side throw me this error:

solution: For Version 1.6, the database version (bp-db-version in wp_options) changed to 6066, and the Trac revision was 6231.

It’s a shame launching a new update and NOT SUPPORTING us. Plase somebody Answer.

I have upgraded from version 1.5 to 1.6 but nothing’s working.
I decided to uninstall 1.5 and then install 1.6 but no files or option are showing after installing it through ftp since installation directly from WordPress does not work.
What’s this bug and and can I fix this?

You can enhance the WordPress menu system to support dynamic links (including BuddyPress profile links) – there is a specific filter that you need to use.

You’ll need to be a competent PHP developer, but if so, it’s relatively straightforward

@modemlooper – I stand corrected, just noticed that the profile link is the only one I am not able to add. Just ignore my ignorance on this one. Sorry for any confusion. I literally just started with BP 2 days ago.

The old bar is deprecated. Use an older version of BuddyPress if you want to use the old bar. Please note the 1.6 notes (no pun intended):

In the Highlights section (https://codex.buddypress.org/releases/version-1-6/#highlights):
Toolbar — complete integration with the WordPress Toolbar.

Also in the General section (https://codex.buddypress.org/releases/version-1-6/#general):
BuddyPress now uses the WordPress Toolbar. The BuddyBar has been deprecated. (#3596, #3661)

FYI, the WP bar is much better and you are able to customize it fully with the available hooks.

@travel-junkie can you please repost the link to the sql.txt file as the link you’ve provided above is not working. I need to create groups in bulk and your script can be a real saver. Thanks!

I don’t think there is – others may have a way though.

Whilst I can’t say for sure it’s probably better to be safe and download versions from the codex here. https://codex.buddypress.org/version/1-5-7/ and other versions are kept.

I also ran auto update and could not access admin panel or log in as a member on the front end either – just got a blank page with “error”. Had to get my host to restore a back up from yesterday and now all ok.

Seems many people have experienced a similar problem and I am reluctant to upgrade until issue fixed.

@modemlooper sorry should have been more descriptive. I use one menu if a user is not logged in and another if they are, Like so:

This works fine for me unless I just haven’t run into any issues yet. Just started using BP.

I had to make this fix after the update
In bp-core-avatars.php I commented out
`return apply_filters( ‘bp_core_fetch_avatar’, ‘<img src="' . `
onward and added
`return apply_filters( ‘bp_core_fetch_avatar_url’, $gravatar );`

Also commented
`return apply_filters( ‘bp_core_fetch_avatar’, ‘<img src="' .`
and added
`return apply_filters( ‘bp_core_fetch_avatar_url’, $avatar_url );`

Not sure whether this is correct or not, but my site works.

I do not see any other issue.

I ran the auto update. Now I cannot access the admin panel for any of my wordpress/buddypress site. I need to be able to approve 30 new members asap! Please help!
