    To fix alignment of BP template files to fit your theme’s HTML structure, open up your theme’s header.php, copy code, paste code in pastebin.com, click submit and post the generated pastebin irl here. Do the same for your index.php, page.php, sidebar.php and footer.php

    It is the regular WordPress version 3.3.1 using a new install of Buddypress 1.5.4. This issue occurs even with the default theme activated and with all other plugins deactivated.

    WordPress and BuddyPress versions? Internet Explorer version?

    Is this a new installation? Single WP or Multisite?

    Did you change theme and/or plugins recently?

    Have you tried basic troubleshooting – changing to bp-default theme and deactivating all plugins except BuddyPress then clearing cache to see if issue is corrected?

    You need to make your theme duotive compatible with BuddyPress by installing and activating the BP Template Pack plugin. Then proceed to dashboard menu Appearance > BP Compatibility and go through the compatibility process. https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/wordpress-to-buddypress-theme/

    1. Add following to bp-custom.php file (create one if you don’t have one)
    `define ( ‘BP_GROUPS_SLUG’, ‘teams’ );`

    2. Create a new Page named Teams

    3. Go to BuddyPress > Pages and associate Groups with the page Teams

    Yes, I actually just installed that today, but I did deactivate all my plugins except for buddypress, but the issue was still there. The only time people can register is when I disable buddypress.

    No one has an idea about this? It is definitely a problem with my buddypress instillation. I deactivated buddypress and used the wp reg and it worked fine. Then brought back buddypress and disabled all the other plugins and the problem was back. I didn’t change anything to do with the registration, except I changed the actual slug for the page to new-members, but that was awhile ago. No idea what could be wrong. Is there a way to bypass the buddypress registration and use something else?

    The fix is scheduled for release in BP 1.6 version.

    You have the option to make the edit manually in your BP 1.5.4’s buddypress/bp-blogs/bp-blogs-functions.php file as seen here https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/changeset/5562 if you know how to make that change. You’d have to make the change again if BP comes out with another version update before BP 1.6

    Looking over your theme, you will need to change 16 template files within the 6 BP folders transferred to your telegraph theme in server during the compatibility process.

    If you’ve changed any of the BP template files in your theme folder, replace all of them by deleting the 6 BP folders in server – /activity, /blogs, /forums, /groups, /members, and /registration – then re-run Appearance > BP Compatibility

    Download the 6 clean BP folders to your computer hard drive.

    modemlooper – that was actually more like what I was thinking.. To just literally use the database info and create my own functions for the mobile app. If that becomes the case then really a BP Mobile framework could be released after we build it for everyone to use.. Or at least a skeleton of functions that folks could start with should they want to create their own.

    The goal is to have an app that does more than what the buddypress website does. So while the BP powered website will be used for communicating and networking with others who are a part of this “movement” the app will have location devices and form submission stuff that would occur outside of the community anyways, so it would be something that would likely never be offline (just like the facebook app never works offline) but the benefits of having a native app still outweigh an HTML5 “theme” for the existing site.

    I have a meeting with them in the coming weeks and am going to get a better feel for what the budget is for the mobile app versus the website and see if we can do this.. Otherwise the low-budget way would be to build the HTML5 web app – which we might launch anyways while the other is being worked on.

    @wolverinept Open up telegraph theme’s header.php, copy all, post code in pastebin.com, click submit, and post the generated pastebin uri here. Do the same for index.php, page.php, sidebar.php and footer.php. We’ll see from there.

    WordPress MU sends them an email saying welcome, then gives them their username and a password which is not theirs! Why is it not using the password the user specified at registration?

    This bug needs to be confirmed. If no one has a chance to confirm this, I’ll try and duplicate what Steve has experienced later today.
