Hi all-
Upon updating to BP1.7 from the last 1.7-beta, actions that used to be handled by buddypress.js (“Add friend,” “post reply”–all of the AJAX action buttons) aren’t working anymore in my custom theme based on Twenty Twelve. I’ve made the sure the js file is being added via my theme’s functions file:

(Which isn’t the behavior I was expecting: http://bpdevel.wordpress.com/2013/02/25/bp-theme-authors-make-sure-your-theme-registers-buddypress-support/)What am I missing to make this theme compatible with 1.7?

I am using I am using WP.version -3.4 and Buddypress 1.6. with BP-Default (child) theme.
I was able to make my “members page” full width (without sidebar) by copying members folder from BP-Default theme folder to my child theme folder and subsequently editing the file ‘members/single/home.php” as follows :
in Line no 12 : changed the entry ` div id=”content”` to ` div id=”content-full”`
in line no.77: fully removed the entry ( get_sidebar)I did the same with members/index.php file too in the members folder in my child theme
It worked well for me.
Now,I would like to make the child pages (that I have created under “members” page) full width with out any sidebar. Can somebody tell me how to do this?

I’m a newbie and I’ve successfully installed BuddyPress on an association’s site running WordPress.
Now, I would like to create a private community for the members, that is the BuddyPress pages (activities, members, groups, forums) should be visible/accessible to logged-in users only.
In particular, menu buttons for BuddyPress pages should be hidden to non-logged-in users (i.e., common visitors). Those buttons should become visible (and the related pages accessible) to members after a successful log-in only.By searching the support forum I’ve seen this topic was discussed many times, and different solutions were proposed. But, frankly speaking, after a lot of reading I’m still quite confused and feel insecure about the approach to follow in order to have things working properly.
Can you suggest me any codes and/or plugin to do that in a clean, effective and – possibly – simple way?

I’ve been developing a site locally and have moved it to a live server for further development.
It appears to be working okay, except for some of the buddypress links are still pointing to localhost.
So, for example, the links on the activity stream to member profiles or to group pages point to localhost. I can go to the groups directory page and in that list they correctly point to the live server version. If I look at my list of friends they point to the live version.
So it specifically seems to be the activity stream that has the problem.
Any thoughts? Is there some cache or something that needs flushing?
I tried disabling then re-enabling buddypress but that didn’t help.

I want to add the links in topic title to my main menu. Now, I have figured out this is not entirely straightforward to do. (This puzzles me by the way, that it is not available out of the box)
Anyways, I have found out thet `echo bp_loggedin_user_domain();` returns profile link, and `echo bp_loggedin_user_domain().’messages/’;` returns link to messages.
My plan was to just create a couple files that use these snippets to redirect directly to the profile/messages page and link to these in menu, and quickly made profileredirect.php and just added the first snippet as a test, something that just ended up with a “Call to undefined function” error message.
I guess the file needs more stuff to be “connected” to Buddypress, but have no idea what.
Would anyone be willing to help me out with a short snippet of code I can cut&paste so the file when opened will just redirect to user profile?

I’ve been trying to get my existing site to format correctly on a mobile device and I still can’t get it. I’ve tried every plugin including buddymobile but the screen just comes up blank with a blue login field. I’m still new-er to WordPress and anything would help. I am using:
Wordpress version 3.5.1
Buddypress version 1.7

I’ve been struggling to get the data from the custom field profiles.
I have 3 Field Groups.
Trying to get a Birthday data from the field Birthday which is in FIELD GROUP 3members-loop.php
I am using this code.
echo bp_member_profile_data(‘field=Birthday’);
Also tried
echo bp_get_member_profile_data(‘field=Birthday’);
Also tried$birthday = xprofile_get_field_data(‘Birthday’,bp_member_name()); echo $birthday;
No success. What am I doing wrong? Do I need to setup a function for this in bp-custom??
Help.I just want to simply add these fields to display along with the defaults stuff on members lists.
I believe you’ve found a bug.
The Base group allows an admin to set default visibility levels.
I was going to suggest you set each field to “logged-in users” and allow users to change their visibility.But those settings are not honored on the register form.

Log in with the same user / pw you use for these forums.Also – do you also see “This field can be seen by: etc. ” under each Base field on the register page?
And a ‘change’ link?There is a check in register.php, but it apparently fails by returning true for logged out users.
