In reply to: How can I add embed.ly support
modemlooper
ModeratorEasiest way would be to drop their js in the head. They have tut on their site and it’s pretty straight forward. Though @r-a-y might want to add support in bp-oEmbed

ParticipantThis is a great find! I asked that very same question not too long ago:
https://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/how-to-make-profile-the-default-tab-without-editing-wp-config/Even posted an enhancement suggestion in trac where I was led to believe it can’t be done.
https://trac.buddypress.org/ticket/3007Now I find the reference in the link supplied by @zkwc and, lo and behold, it looks like it CAN be done.
I can’t wait to test this out in my new BuddyBuilder theme framework.
If it works well, I’ll incorporate the idea in so users can select ANY one of the default subnavs as group home.January 17, 2011 at 9:18 pm #103178thealchemist

Member@zkwc Thanks. Checked it out. The suggestion of editing the bp-custom.php file is interesting fix for the forum tab in groups but I can’t FIND the bp-custom.php file anywhere.

ParticipantThe new bbpress plugin being created for wordpress right now can be used like any other forum.
https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/bbpress-plugin-updatesThe forum option within buddypress can be disabled (the group-specific one).

ParticipantPerhaps it’s just your browser settings?
Your theme has weird markup?
Or even your settings on your pc/mac.No one’s answering since they haven’t had it before, so it’s not a buddypress problem, meaning that it’s probably a problem from your side.
Which makes it hard to figure out. And most of us don’t give a …. since it’s not buddypress related.Harsh? Yeah, but your on your own mate. Try changing settings and validating your markup.

ParticipantThat happened to me once. I know that I had to change back to admin. But I don’t remember the steps as it was over a year ago with the old buddy.

modemlooper
ModeratorForget my pastebin that code is overkill for what I need. Can you give a simple example of adding meta?
Read through this as well. https://buddypress.org/community/groups/creating-extending/forum/topic/adding-a-second-element-for-posting-with-an-activity/?topic_page=1&num=15
But thats on activity submit. I want to add activity meta after. Lemme retry.

ParticipantDo you have a BuddyPress menu in the admin area? Are you running multisite?
January 17, 2011 at 5:10 pm #103143In reply to: Can’t change site name with buddypress theme
Andrea Rennick
ParticipantBasically, to clarify: you only need to use a BuddyPress theme on the main site where Buddypress is activated. On the user blogs, just use a regular wordpress theme.

ModeratorA simple solution if you want all added sites to use same name is to type the name in the header.php title instead of calling it from database.

Have you researched your problem on google and buddypress?

Participant@luvs123, I just tried it in topic.php, I see the place your might want to add this meta is above the loop. The function need to be working inside loop.

Participant@gunju2221 thing is Savanah Mercime is pretty experienced with BP and no doubt even more experienced with PHP

For the php parsing engine to work you must have php tags around your script elements, common practice is to open and close those tags when needing to parse markup, or one adds one opening and one closing set and all markup in the script needs to be set as echoed strings, variables or the heredoc function called.
Likely you have a file that is using supplied snippets written by members and which for potability each have their own set of tags.
