This might already be listed in this very long thread. When visiting a group clicking on the members tab does not show the members. Also, as a Group Admin, clicking the “Manage Members” tab simply brings up a message that states “This group has no members.” But I know that it does as the Members tab shows “8”.

@DJPaul Your vigilant moderation prompted me to go back and look at post #1 where you, in fact, state that this is for problems associate with the new BP design. I would suggest tweaking the Topic title to reflect as much as it can cause a bit of confusion as to the real nature of the topic (I confess to thinking it was about the actual “design” of the site as per the title)

I’m having the same problem. “Edit Page” and “Create Group” are returning 404 pages.
I’ve already tested @cce solution and it didn’t work, instead gave me a php error and my site wouldn’t even load.

My config is:

I’ve changed my slugs inside of wp-config.php, but even when I delete this lines, the 404 pages keep occuring.

@apeatling gutsy move to do the redesign and upgrade live when you know how some would react to the changes and some glitches. As it is, I could see the new BP functions that will be available so I can envision how I can use those to improve my sites. As for the current UI, I hope to see constructive and collaborative comments rather than negative and venomous ones.

No it won’t.

The integration guide above has nothing to do with BuddyPress. It allows you to integrate WordPress with an external install of bbPress (users, single sign-on).

If you want to integrate your external bbPress install with BuddyPress. Login to the WP backend, under “BuddyPress > Forum Setup”, choose existing install.
Then, you’d have to create a group and enable a forum for that group. Next, you’d have to manually bring in those topics via PHPMyAdmin.

Like I said above, it doesn’t make a difference what version of WordPress you are using.

All of BuddyPress and WordPress is under the GPL license. You can sell your themes without issue, as long as you comply with the terms of the GPL license. There are plenty of resources around the web which will help you understand.

Currently there is no facility to sell themes from this website, so you will need to find somewhere to do that, perhaps on your website.

@hnla, yes, absolutely worthy discussing UI in a dedicated thread. My point was that it is not just UI.

But isn’t that worthy of discussing in a dedicated thread? I hear what you’re saying, is this not too some degree UI though? the API questions raised were indeed sounding like steps in the right direction especially where they touch on easing life for the presentation layer frontend developer but redefining The API doesn’t necessarily clear up ( or does it?)some of the concerns some have in regards how conceptually the whole ‘thing’ works and how the end user (frankly the only person that actually matters) finds it to use.

you successfully sign in, it asks for you to upload a pic but later it just stalls and goes blank.

what i noticed is that on my server the images are uploaded although the crop function ect never works.

@Paul Gibbs, the problem is beyond UI. Buddypress/Automattic needs to make some real architectural choices, stop piling on functionality on existing functionality that partly overlaps, looks all very similar to the end user, but isn’t synchronized/streamlined. Your explanation of the differences between groups, forums, comments etc. in #post-51655 is irrelevant to the end user.

Mixing old-fashioned forums + WordPress classic blogs/comments + newer forms of social networking/activity wires is a recipe for disaster imho. Unless perhaps if you rethink and restructure the whole thing from the bottom up, but if Automattic is not doing that it is not going to happen and will only get worse.

Mr Maz (?) API discussion was a definite step in the right direction!

@xberserker would really like to test that, + could this work with the buddypress gifts? when you send a gift it deducts points..sort of like your paying for the gift with your points…any thoughts?
