its the registration form not the login that autofills

i reckon it must be a cookie issue – a cookie that remembers what you have put in each box so that if it flags up an incorrect entry you don’t have to start over again

somehow it has written the cookie to my server?

i’ve tracked the member that caused the problem – joined 8 days ago – but am unlikely to find out what she did to screw the works

Hi, I’m using wordpress 3.0.4 and buddypress 1.2.7, I have activated the default theme, and then downloaded a few other themes meant for buddypress (all from this site) I activate a theme and then the topbar (Dashboard) disturbs the whole theme, instead of beeing on the top it gets aligned to the left and <li'ed..

I guess I need to upload or provide a css file or do something else, but I just can’t figure out what I need to do ?

Edit: These themes are all uploaded to /wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-themes wich seems to be the right place to upload themes. .

It’s a custom theme designed specifically for bp.org. You can find several good themes here: https://buddypress.org/extend/themes/
Or Google ‘buddypress themes’ for more.

I do not see how to fix this.
I have to start all my installation? or just move BuddyPress? Or anything else ?
With your explanation I thought I should just turn in the administration BuddyPress but at home I can only activate BuddyPress on the network and not just on the main site, it’s normal? I have no choice …
Yet I feel that I installed it right BuddyPress, right on the main site, at the root …

I have on my ftp:

www > wp admin
wp content > blogs.dir
………….
Plugins > BuddyPress
………………
wp includes

So the path is BuddyPress / www / wp-content / plugins / BuddyPress
Where i do instal BP ?
May be it is because the www directory to the root, this folder is used to put my sit, that’s how it works in my host OVH …

@luvs the only tweaks I made were to the set of icons used, this plugin should add the set to all text areas – it may be something to do with your theme, have you tested it out on a different theme?

One issue I have found with this is to do with the javascript it loads – this conflicts with image cropping on avatars. This is likely what is happening to your other plugin if it uses javascript

Sorry for reply so late!!

I can still see the problem at testbp.org! I use IE 6! Please consider if it is IE’s problem!? In my won test site,I use wordpress 3.0.4 and buddypress 1.2.7 and default buddypress theme 1.2.7 and don’t make any changes!

In addition, as soon as I begin to input any letter in the activity post form or the rely post form, the right side of the square broken!

I don’t know if it’s all because of IE’s problem.

go to your hompage-> Members right hand side you will see Order by change it to new member you shall see them. i dont know why buddypress is designed like that. it happen to me b4. its manual, if you want to see last active, new member etc you have to choose and it will appear

Anyone tried this yet or better, succeeded in it?

What I’m trying to get BuddyPress to do is just auto crop the image being uploaded, on registration and on new avatar upload.

I’ve been researching this for a couple hours now, and I saw a couple articles on it ( http://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/how-to-override-the-buddypress-avatar-override/ ) and ( http://wpmu.org/how-to-add-a-custom-default-avatar-for-buddypress-members-and-groups/ ). But either I’m not understanding or it simply doesn’t answer the question. What do I have to do to have a custom set of avatars? Ones that just randomly appear uniquely. Well I stumbled upon the Ravatar plugin and it works a charm, except for one problem, it’s not update for wordpress 3.04, but it still kinda works. Just another problem, when I activate it, both avatars (Buddypress and Ravatar appear). Anyway I can take it off without it removing all avatars from member pages?

Or even better! Can I just make Buddypress fetch the avatars from Ravatar??? ( my site with avatars http://www.clubpinata.co.cc/contests/invitethem )

I have a number of front page blog contributors that also maintain there only seperate blogs – many on blogger. Is there any sort of solution to make this easier on them aside from what do do now, Cut & Paste.

look in the sidebar.php code and see if there is placeholder=”” in the form

It might have got included in the custom theme. Usually this has username and password in those spots. Also if someone on a computer saves that to the browser you have to delete cookies and settings to remove it. How to depends on the browser.

I hit a brick wall while trying to convert a 2 col theme to a 3 col theme

The Fishbook (BuddyPress BuddyPack) theme by Michael Kuhlmann is a very great theme and possibly the only free facebook clone theme out there. The problem is that the only version that seems to be available has one sidebar only.

I have been trying to add a second sidebar on the right but try as much as I could, I’ve not been able to. I was able to get the second sidebar to appear but not in the right place (mine appeared at the top of the page).

I even tried following the example of BP-Columns 1.2 which is a three column version of the Buddypress default theme but I still couldn’t get it to work properly.

I will be mighty glad if someone can point me in the right direction.

PS: In my search for answers I noticed that this same question has been asked several times in other threads and forums but the answer is always inconclusive. I believe that a working solution to this challenge will be GREAT news to a lot of people out there.

This is spooky!

The name field on my BP registration form autofills with ANNE PORTER

Have tried this looking at this on various PC’s and the form comes up with ANNE PORTER prefilled in the name field

I’m using custom community theme

Any ideas?

I’m pretty new to BuddyPress so apologies in advance if I’m asking something that has an obvious answer to everyone else.

Is there a plugin for or way to create a search box for individual forums? It seems like any forum ought to have its own search function, but I’m not seeing it.

BTW, I’m not talking about the global forum directory search box — I really do mean a search box that is located on and can search an individual forum.

I have an issue with url in navigation bar of all my sub blog…
When i create a new blog, the navigation bar on sub blog has an bad url like:
http://www.mysite/subblog/ and also for all functions of user.
For example when a user in on a sub blog and if he wants to retour to the main site, he can’t because where there is the name of website : Mysite the url is http://www.mysite/subblog/ so he retourn on sub blog home only.
If user wants to go on his message there is this url http://www.mysite/subblog/members/mike/messages/
It’s normal ?
I think there is too that information in the url. /subblog/ in more in the navigation of sub blog is not good for me… I think all navigation bar url of all sub blogs must be the same of main site.
My buddypress configuration is in repertory like http://www.mysite/blog1 http://www.mysite/blog2 … not in sub domain.
Could you help me… Can you tell me if it’s normal, but i don’t think so…
May be i need to put code in wp-config or htacces ? I find nothing in the wp administration
