Topic: Custom avatar path issue?
I have a remote install, and a local install that is an exact mirror (other than all URLs Remote/Local are correct for each install). I dump my remote db, import into my local db, find and replace the remote URLs with the local URLs (using a tool that does it properly – not a simple find and replace), and develop locally on an exact replica of my production site.
Out of the blue the custom avatars on the remote install are no longer displaying. The file structure and permissions are exactly mirrored, and the avatars on the local install are displaying fine. My immediate thought was that something *must* be different, but no. So then I thought maybe some cookie / cache thing. No. So then I googled, and came up with this: http://theandystratton.com/2010/buddypress-avatars-not-displaying-with-wordpress-3-0 (a post from last September referring to the same issue).
I tried the code there, and with a little tweak it did the job, and avatars are displaying again. However, this seems extremely hackish, and I’d like to get to the bottom of the issue. Why would the avatar path suddenly break like this? Does anyone have experience of this issue?
Hi, i´ve installed WordPress 3.0.4 and the newest version of buddypress. Everything seems to be ok and works fine. But if i want to compose a message and look for friends or users, i get an error message (“Cannot modify header information….”).

Just installed and activated the Buddymatic theme and got this error

I’ve installed and updated the latest WP; installed the beautiful theme Jukt Micronics (BuddyPress BuddyPack) 1.2 by Michael Kuhlmann
Need a fixed background image – tried using CSS: background-attachment fixed: url(body3lite.jpg) top center;
and put the image in the same directory as the CSS file – no result at allI have checked around and have found posts that refer me to Appearances > Themes > Options but there is no options in that section.
May I please request some help with this? Will be very much appreciated.

RonHi all, so I added BP profile search to my adminbar using the instructions here: http://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/search-function-in-admin-bar/
Initially all was well, but since the plugin was updated, the search bar is suddenly using the Blog URL rather than the Site URL. Very strange. I’ve been tearing hair out trying to fix this and can’t find where the problem is occurring anywhere.
I’d greatly appreciate some help if anyone knows what might be causing this.

You can see most links seem to be fine and the $bp->root_domain is correctly using the Site URL. But if you try searching (top-right), it’ll throw in the “/wordpress/” subdirectory and cause an error.

I’m looking in wp-includes/default-widgets.php to try and change the way it is displaying the names but can’t find the display name to replace so it works with this http://buddypress.org/community/groups/buddypress-usernames-only/
Any hints? Wrong file?
