Hi,
I am trying to make the bbpress front page to look like my buddypress page so it looks a bit more integrated, and I can add a tab “forums” to the main navigation which will bring me from wordpress mu font page to bbpress front page.
For this, I need to display the buddypress admin bar on top of the bbpress front page. Is this a possibility? Do I need to load the entire wordpress header? (is this even possible from a sub directory?)

I’m testing this great platform and I’m very impressed by its stability, clearity and functionality.
In this time the request to interoperability from social network grow up quickly and adoption of Open ID, Facebook Connect, Google Connect too.
For the launch of BuddyPress I think is very important to have as soon as possible the plugins for this authentication systems, you know to have a slogan like “Buddypress, the first social networking platform all connected!” (or something similiar, whith good english…)

Hi guys, i’ve installed buddypress and it seems to work fine, but i’ve gout 2 major issues:
1) as you know, the registration form of WPMU requires to fill username and email fields. Now, buddypress also requires a full name field to be filled, and this field overwrites the “username” field of wpmu. So in my registration page i’ve username, email, and again “full name” as required fields!
I don’t understand why bp should ask 2 times for a name: i could rename the field as “your favourite food”, or other, but the username would be converted in “pasta” or “chicken”, and it could be embarassing
2) logout does not work, and the problem is the redirect in the url. I’ve tried modifying the templatetags page in Bp-core in order to remove the redirect, but it sorts no effect. What page i should modify to manually set the logout url?

I added the “state” prebuilt field and it didn’t produce a populated dropdown of states. Is this a known issue, new issue, or just my issue?

Ok, I’ll throw my hat into the ring…
As for now I’m running a standard bp theme site on WPMU 2.7 and bp 1.0b2 that I’m gradually translating to Swedish (55% there). For the non-swedes here it’s a community for people working out.
I’ve semi-launched it a couple of weeks ago so there’s just a few users but the site will stay intact so if you’re A) Swedish and

I was searching for an answer of adding (or subtracting) main nav buttons, and came across this post. Very helpful and led me right to an interim answer. So, thank you.
However, if a hard code nav changes into bp-core-templatetags.php, then I would be sorry when upgrading if I wasn’t paying attention. So, this prompts my next question, is there no dynamic way to add (or hide) nav buttons? Of course there’s always a way, but one that exists?
Maybe this could be accomplished by adding a nav options section to the BuddyPress home theme? Or a BuddyPress-specific nav plugin?

yes, sorry…i should be more clear..
Note: when I set up WPMU2.7… i chose to install it in /blogs … then, I put buddypress in /mu-plugins.
/blogs/wp-content/mu-plugins
But, when I set it up like this… i was totally unaware back then that /blogs would be conflict with buddypress
whybrasil.com/blogs …doesnt show the home page…instead it shows whybrasil.com/blogs/blogs
please help (i know this is simple, but please help…)

I am new to the whole WordPress and BuddyPress world, but have launched a buddypress site (www.mobiusmanitou.com) that is working nicely. I have a few blogs there (Showcase, FinderMap, and Interviews, located across on the header menu bar) that I want to edit. I’d like to take the Categories, Archive, Subscribe-Comments, and Recent Posts stuff from the sides so it isn’t visible to the viewer. I am guessing this is pretty basic, but I don’t want to runk anything else up by doing it. If it makes a difference, in the Showcase, I am using pages for the entries, not posts as it does what I want otherwise.
Also, I am having trouble uploading my avatar. It opens a window for me to do it, but that is it. I can’t get beyond that point. Is this a known issue, or is it something I am doing?
