also just noted that when upgrading you have to reactivate the buddy home theme this gave me a blank screen…
updated to the latest SVN checkout and it sorted all my issues as far as I can see I have no bugs to report weeeee only got the dedicated server built last saturday…
If you are having redirect problems, make sure everything in your themes functions.php file contains everything in the latest function.php of the BuddyPress themes.
I have the same issue as kazama the blog actually redirects to the login portion if logged out and if logged in just recycles back to my profile…. could this be a rewrite issue…
Also I can not get anything to appear in the news area when clicked everything else works great version 1.0b2 from the combo download I avoid the trac as it is on a public server build…

I’d suggest launching with the basic ability to set your Twitter settings in the Buddypress profile area for purposes of sending your blog posts to Twitter and/or importing them into your blog. This would be a very attractive feature within Buddypress as it keeps the user from seeing the dashboard, a necessary requirement for all other Twitter/WP styled plugins.
With that basic functionality working in v1, I’d then focus on enhancing the plugin with the features you’ve suggested and others to be developed. This approach would enable you to get it out quickly while still working on future enhancements.

I’ve got a couple issues with groups in my buddypress install.
1st) I cannot reject group invites, it gives me an error saying that I cannot reject the invite so I have to accept and then leave the group. I’m using wpmu2.7 and buddypress 1.0b2. How would I find out what’s causing the erorr and how to fix it?
2nd) If you have group invites sitting in your que (due to not being able to reject them) it continues to send you emails about once an hour for those groups… how do I turn this “feature” off?

the website TBD.com uses a wire as a forum…and it works awesome…Buddypress is right along those lines…now if we could quote others on the wire…BBpress wouldn’t be so much of a necessity

Only having a few bugs from BuddyPress but it may just be my coding/styling.
So far it’s been good.
It seems the members like to push every button they see so group and friend requests are insane. I took off the group email notifications as it seemed to be getting abused. Might be good to have this as an option to turn off for future releases.

It appears I am having issues trying to change or update group avatars. While I can can change my profile avatar, I am unable to change the avatar for any the groups I created. I receive a page with a message stating:
PERMISSION DENIED
Not Found / No Access
The page you are looking for either does not exist, or you do not have the permissions to access it.
I am using a plain install of WPMU 2.7 and BuddyPress 1.0b2. Everything else seems to be working fine. Are there specific permissions that need to be set for the groups? Setting the avatar folder to 777 seems to make no difference.

Wow maxaud. That’s a really nice bp skin, integration, overhaul. I do believe you are the largest bp site I’ve seen. Congrats. That took a lot of work.
You can at your peril. There is a secret open source software credit detection routine built into both products. The license doesn’t explicitly say you have to keep it there. However I’ve heard of horrible things happening if you remove it. Open source programmers are very self centered, introverted and vindictive people.

I’m german and I installed buddypress and german language files and so on..
My Problem is, that the date doesnÄt show up how it should. For example i get:
“vor 3 days and 21 hours registriert” which is some kind of a mix between german and english.. Date shows up in english.. Any suggestions how to solve that issue?

Well, well. Maybe we’re getting somewhere trying to understand why 1and1 doesn’t work well with bp. Thanks for this.
I believe Andy is going to address this issue, but in the meantime I’ve found some success using the “Block Admin” plugin. This allows you to set a redirect URL when someone tries to access wp-admin. You also need to comment out a few of the Buddypress admin bar sub-menus to prevent users from accessing the backend.
Works fine for me but I agree it’s an issue that should be addressed.

All we need to do is to direct them to their profile page withing Buddypress site after they log in. Is there a way to modify the email messages that go out during and after activation process?
