I have a Hungarian language install at http://unitarsalgo.unitarius-halo.net/ . I used BuddyPress 1.0b1 with WordPress MU 2.7 and bbPress 1.0 alpha. Hungarian language file is about 90% complete; I’ll make it available when its 100%. I’d say 1.0b1 was about 98% ready for use with other languages: I had to go through the files line by line to add missing get-text tags. Since I’m just finishing my 1.0b1 install, I think I’ll wait a bit before upgrading to beta 2. When I do I’ll be comparing my tweaked files to 1.0b2 files in ExamDiff to find changes I need to carry over; This time I’ll try to keep some notes so I can’t point the developers toward any remaining problems.

In terms of actually doing this, I am pretty sure you can since it is released under the same license as WordPress which I am pretty sure you can remove credit.

Howdy. I’m not sure why there is a problem. Here’s what I think is happening.

register_sidebar_widget( __(‘Members’, ‘buddypress’), ‘bp_core_widget_members’);

That registers the members widget with translation. If in your .mo and .po file the word “Members” is translated then it should work fine. This is what you are doing?

Looking at the random blogs problem now. Don’t know about the translation question. I’ll have to investigate that.

OK. Random blog question is actually a bug. Ticket and patch for the fix is: https://trac.buddypress.org/ticket/445

I understand your admin bar language question but can’t decide if it’s a bug or an enhancement. I’ll post it as a bug and it will get noticed that way. Andy can decide if it’s more along the lines of an enhancement by changing it’s status.

Yes. Many people know how to do this. We learned by hunting down the appropriate css entities and modifying them. I did it by first of all getting the wildly wonderful firebug extension for firefox.

Firebug told me the exact file and line to modify. It even let me change the css interactively on a live web page. Try before I buy. Very cool.

This time around firebug told me that the bp home theme css padding entry for the content area lives in:

/wp-content/themes/buddypress-home/css/base.css

Change line number 121: padding: 0 20px; to padding: 0;

I have installed wp mu 2.7, it works great, i can creat new blogs and users, subdomens work too, but when I loaded bp1 beta 2(in mu-plugins), admin panel doesnt work, I also loaded member-themes in wp-content and buddypress-home in themes, and 777 on httpdocs and wp-content, what is wrong? thanks

Sounds very good… but I am not sure, what that means:

Do we still need the patch submitted in ticket175 or is that already implemented in BPbeta2?

just open wp-content/themes/buddypress-home/css/base.css in a text editor and change:

#header h1 a {

text-indent: -999em;

background: url(../images/logo.gif) top left no-repeat;

overflow: hidden;

width: 214px;

height: 35px;

display: block;

float: left;

}

or simply replace wp-content/themes/buddypress-home/images/logo.gif with your logo.

Hello Andy, excellent job, I love wordpress…. I have been testing all community and multiuser blog systems and while Buddypress is still in a marvel work on development I prefer to wait for BP instead of installing and developing on any other platform… WordPress MU+Buddypress rock and will drive the social communites in not time….

I am testing buddypress at http://www.aula5.net, aula5 will be an educational+young people community in the Dominican Republic, the only thing I am missing is the Album feature, this is the main reason for people to enter in any community, PICTURES, PHOTOS.

hi, back again with a possible solution,
I’ve reinstalled (overwrite .tar) one by one all the packages, starting with core and going on,
no more db errors (open) and weird things, so far.

PS now via Site Admin > BuddyPress I’ve all the plugs list numbered 1.02
even if they are located at the middle page. 🙂
