@r-a-y I’ve tried quite a few files, most recently the name was “a.jpg” and “a.png”

I tested 2.9 beta and it didn’t fix the issue.

I updated my localhost dev site to PHP 7.1.7, with all the same plugins running, including BuddyPress 2.8.2, and image cropping worked. But it still isn’t working on the live site.

The only plugin I’m using that’s dependent upon BuddyPress is ‘bbp buddypress profile information’

The bbPress pluings I’m using, besides bbPress 2.6.rc-3 and the profile info plugin, are bb Style Pack and bbPress Move Topics

    Hello,

I have a site with Buddypress installed.
For some reason, when I click on “my profile” page, when I’m logged in with a certain type of users, I can see that current_user exists, and I have the button to edit my profile.
But when I’m logged with other types of users, the buton “Edit” is not there, because bp_is_my_profile returns false, because the user object is empty…

I read somewhere that wp_get_current_user return 0 is it’s called at the wrong place. But here, it’s the same page, so it should return the same kind of information.
I don’t understand why this function returns nothing for some users…

The only difference between these users is:
    – I use Paid Memberships Pro, and some users pay a membership while others pay nothing. So the first ones have a “membership level” while the other ones don’t have any.

Anyone have an idea of how I could solve it ?
I was thinking of creating a “free membership level” but I think it should work without having to do that.

    What do you think ?

    Thanks for your help

So ive been doing a heap of looking around before i decided to post here, im trying to modify the buddypress user profile look and layout however am having a bit of trouble and not sure where to start (or even how to progress). I am not very great with coding (can just scratch the surface) especially with buddypress. I used the below link but it didnt prove to be very useful for me as well as visiting the template heirachy.

Custom Front Pages for your users profiles

If there is some tutorial about customising user profile pages or something that would be an awesome help.

Our membership site’s news feed is displaying weird. Currently, when you click on the news feed [activity stream] menu button, it displays every comment as a post with an arrow that says “View Conversation” when hovering over. By clicking on the arrow, it takes you to the original post just fine… but we don’t want them all clogging our news feed. Only when you click on the “All Members” button at the top does the news feed display regularly.

How do we get the News Feed to just show normal with the correct Post > Comments down the page instead of all of the comments shown as posts?

    Thank you!

    Hello,

I’m trying to add a button so nonregistered users can contact register users from the profile page via private message.
    Saw this discussion here:
    https://buddypress.org/support/search/private+message+button/

But nothing worked for me. My website is not in English, should it be a problem? It looks like it bp-custom.php is not recognized, tried inserting the codes to function.php as well. Nothing works…

I’d be happy for some help here.
    Tnx

    Hello,
I’m working on a site with the “Feature!” theme. The site breaks when BuddyPress is activated. The site does not break when using the twenty twelve – twenty seventeen themes.

    The live site is http://newguineaexplorers.com
It is running older versions of WP and BP but still breaks when BP is activated.

    The error code is:

It works fine with default theme.
Theme I use hasn’t overriden files for buddypress, so i think it uses plugin sources. And there is no any error in DevTools console.

How to debug what’s going wrong? How can i solve this issue?

Amin – You would have to ask your request on the bbPress forums – https://bbpress.org/forums

bbPress handles BuddyPress integration into the Groups component.

By default BuddyPress operates across sites in a multisite/multinetwork context. You’ll need to look at one of these plugins depending on your requirements:

    BuddyPress Multi Network

    BP Multi Network

    Hi there,

I wonder if someone might be able and willing to assist. I’m using BuddyPress Registration Groups so the user registers for one specific group and i want to filter the blog page to only display a particular category depending on the group the user belongs to. For example if the user belongs to group A then they only see posts in the food category.

    Thank you in advance.

    Hello,

I have BuddyPress and bbPress on my site.

My site has been moved to a new hosting company. Since the move when you click on Forums in the dashboard or in the front end menu you get a white screen. When you click on topics you see them all listed back end and can “view” them on the front end too.

All my widgets don’t show either.

I have deactivated all plugins and re-activated them one by one and put the site onto a default WP theme with no luck of seeing the forums (or widgets).

When I deactivate bbpress the site only shows the header on the front end.

Any ideas would be very much appreciated -thank you. I’ll pop this onto the bbPress support also.

i just installed Multisite and activated Buddypress on three sites.

The first thing i noticed was – when i post something on the activity of 1 site, the post also appears on the activity of the two others. When i delete the post from any of the site, it gets deleted on the others as well.

Is this behaviour normal? Is there a fix? Thanks!

now the group admins posts appears in activity updates as “(admin name) has post an update in (groub name)” .. is there a way to post the group updates with the group name itself instead of admin name?

I tried a lot but failed everytime.
    I followed this topic https://buddypress.org/support/topic/create-group/
and add Create Group line in the specified directory but nothing happens.
Create button shown in admin area but not users area.
Also when I tried to put manually from user area by going to /groups/create ..It says you are not allowed to create groups but I can create group thrrough admin area. I want other users to create group themselves.

Kindly help me..how can I do it
