you have to log out from WordPress, otherwise you are not able to see the register page. If your are logged out and then try to register, the page will appear (it was so in my case).

first, you certainly need a child theme for your Frisco theme with all the modification you do, want to do.

Read the Codex how to accomplish this and also your theme doc.

It’s extremely important that you understand how your install and BP are working.
We all, and you the first, wasting time if all the help you receive is ending by “doesn’t work”.

To add a sub-menu, you have to create a custom menu who goes to BP group page. After that you can create a new php page called join_group.php and add it into your child theme.

In this file you integrate all necessary html tags to reflect your theme, the php who belongs to BP groups and all the conditions to join any group you have and the join group button php code. Done. But be warned, this is a rough scenario, who need certainly to be adjusted a bit.

Now go back to your custom menu and add  join_group.php file as sub-menu target.

That said, it’s not a good idea to do that. People mainly don’t like to search in dropdown menus for some simple action like joining a service.

Do it simple ! 😉

Is it also possible to integrate in buddypress the member header? The link work, but he does not detect the user from buddypress, the user I want to mail.

Désactive tous tes plugins en les renommant via FTP, sauf BP, et vois si le problème persiste. Puis réactive-les jusqu’à isoler le coupable.
Deactive all your plugins by renaming them via FTP, except BP, and see if the problem persists. Then reactivate them 1 by 1 to isolate the culprit.

no that is wrong…go to groups you created and then goto admin, under it forum…uncheck the box and save then refresh the page and check the box and save the setting again…let me know if thhis helps.

Also add select=selected to the update option to get finally this:

Empty your browser history to view the change.

And take care by copy/pasting from here.  You probably have to rewrite the curly quotes into single quotes.

In your group admin settings deactivate the forum option and save it…Then reactivate it..this solved my problem.

I use @etivii’s BuddyPress Pending Activations plugin on a daily basis.

It’s brilliant. Check it out!

@djpaul Do you know if there is any more news on this? Looks like the tracker was reopened about a year ago. It would be great to add notifications for @mentions in blog posts as well.

@nahummadrid Did you ever find an answer to this? I am also looking for this. And it seems like the BP notifications doesn’t pickup on @mentions in blog posts and comments.
