    Hey, Thanks for replying.
    Will clarify on this below:

So how the flow goes is:
    1. User submits an activity post below – This user is the “Original Poster”.
    – I have an important announcement

    2. Another user can comment on the activity post.
    – Thank you for the announcement!

    3. When a user comments on an activity post, the Original Poster receives an email notification that a comment has been added – which uses the template

{{poster.name}} replied to one of your updates:
{{usermessage}} (Thank you for the announcement!)
{{{thread.url}}} Go to the discussion to reply or catch up on the conversation.

    As per the notification above,
it does not include original post content (This is an important announcement)
only the comment that the other user has made (Thank you for the announcement)
and a link to go to the discussion.

    So the question is,
How can I include the original post content (This is an important announcement) into the email notifications?
This allows the Original Poster to see the comments made on his post and also the original post content that is being commented on.

    Thanks for reading!

    Hey guys,

I have my BP set up so that there’s a notification for a comment reply as well as for a comment on someone’s post.

So, if someone receives a reply to their comment on their own post, it returns two notifications. One is for the comment reply, the other for the comment on their post.

How can I prevent this from happening?

    Thanks!

    Howdy, BuddyPress friends!

I have been working on a project for fun and have been enjoying the laying out of items and adding plugin functionality a bit much here lately. So much so, in fact, that I put the testing phase on the back shelf for a bit.

When I was attempting to request membership from a test account to a private group that my admin account was the creator of, I ran into an issue: I can get to the request page (/groups/test-group/request-membership/?_wpnonce=47febc75fe) by clicking the link to do so and then am presented with a textarea for request comments, however when I submit the form (with or without comments) I am taken back to the group’s main page (/groups/test-group/) and am presented with “There was an error sending your group membership request. Please try again.” The request does not come through (not in BP’s notifications, e-mail, pending requests, etc.) at all.

At first this was a minor irritation because I could go to the group as the admin and invite the test account to join the group. There I am presented with a checkbox for my test account’s name, as well as a submit button; however when clicking on the checkbox, the form instantly submits without ever sending an invite. I even attempted to modify the live source to set the field to checked, attempted to submit, and received a success message stating my invite was sent, but of course it never was.

I have checked the list of plugins I have on my site, disabled a few I didn’t necessarily need, and have checked each of the remaining to see if there’s any sort of conflict between plugins affecting groups, but to no avail. This functionality is key to the use of groups for my project, so I would sincerely appreciate any advice from more knowledgeable members of the BP community.

Some support information, including a list of active plugins, can be found below. Please note that any plugin with ** beside it came bundled with the theme.

    Hi,

We’re having problems with notification emails for comments in the activity. From our admin user we don’t receive any notification, while from a normal subscriber user we created, we receive that emails.
Is there any way we can test this behavior? I’ve installed this plugin to track the emails but it seems that Buddypress emails are not tracking https://wordpress.org/plugins/email-log/

    Thank you in advance

After hours of checking because the responses in the publications took almost 10 seconds to appear, I realized that the problem is as follows:

Case 1: When replying to a comment, if the user who commented first has notifications activated by mail, the response takes about 10 seconds to appear. I imagine what it takes to send the email and then the comment appears.

Almost 2: (temporary solution): When replying to a comment, if the user who commented first does NOT have active notifications by mail, the response DOES NOT LATE TO APPEAR.

Is there a way to first appear the comment and then send the mail? This would help the site fluency.

If you can’t, is there a way to disable default email notifications and send a summary once a day?

This problem of slowness happens in any situation where you have email notifications activated; messages, replies, mentions, etc.

Thank you very much for your support. : D CC: @imath @henrywright

    Good Morning

My problem is the following, when I try to enter a buddypress link, for example see the notification of a comment, access an activity notification, redirects me to another page that has nothing to do with buddypress.

I would like to know why this happens and what solution I could have, but not before thanking you for your answers, thank you very much.

    WP v5.2.1
    BP v4.3.0

I have BuddyPress installed in a multisite environment and I am trying to figure out what the exact code needs to be placed within the bp-custom.php file to remove … “on the site SITENAME,” … from the following within the Global and Personal activity streams:

      When a post is made.
      when a comment is made.

Also, I’m trying to figure out how to turn off the notifications within the global and personal activity streams for:

      When a page is made.

I may be novice but can pick up some things fairly quick. I just need a little help so any assistance would be greatly appreciated. 🙂

Switching to the default aarvark theme did indead remove the error messages. I’ve switched back to the child theme, and removed mycode from bp-custom. No results. My BP templates do not contain bp_nav, but I didn’t took the time to change the file versions in the top comments. I have those custom files:

Ah got you, I can confirm clicking on blog based notifications does not clear the notification.

Could you raise a bug report on Trac?

    https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/

Once you’ve done that I’ll add some comments about my own testing.

My Admin user wrote an activity update and my user replied to that activity update. The admin user got a notification and clicking on that notification took them to the activity entry and removed the notification.

My admin user then commented on the users comment. The user got a notification and clicking on that notification took them to the admin comment and removed the notification.

    Hi again @venutius ,
It doesn’t seem to happen in every case.(in case of message, friendship request and mention, it does work very well.)
If “A” wrote a post and “B” replied on that, then “A” received the notification,
“B commented on one of your updates” this notification does not disappeared even A clicked that notification.

And A replied to the B’s comment, then B received the notification,
“A replied to one of your activity comments”
It does not disappeared even B clicked that notification.

    I need your help 🙂

    Hi, guys!
It sounds weird, however, the notification is not disappeared even I click and read that comment or message.
Should I go to setting of notification and click “mark as read” to remove that notification?
How can I make it disappear automatically after I click that notification?
    Thank you in advance 🙂

Hey, we use Events Manager by Marcus Sykes and also run Comment Mail by Websharks inc. It’s a long time ago that I set it up but the event creators get emails and have options, it also gives the users options to receive notifications about follow up comments etc.

    Hope this helps.

When I put a comment in a Group, the notification is send as waited and the comment is visible.
When I leave this group and come back, my comment is no more visible.
It’s well save in the Website log.

We use the BuddyPress 4.1.0 installed 10th February. No problem occurs with the previous BuddyPress version.

    Hi there,

I was trouble shooting already hosted live website which is already setup buddy press wall.

    BuddyPress – Version 4.1.0
    BuddyBoss Wall – Version 1.3.2
    BuddyBoss Media – Version 3.2.2
BuddyPress Activity Filter – Version 2.0.0
    Wordpress – Version 4.9.6

And user can post on there friend profile and see the posted on user wall. But when mentioned user wall doesn’t display it. Any idea what will causing this issue.

But the wall post will notify and notification will be redirect site-wide-activity page display posts on that page, not on their wall.

    BuddyPress: 4.1.0
    WP: 5.0.2
    site link: (private site)

On the members profile pages, clicking certain menu tabs breaks the page – clicking “notifications”, “groups”, or “settings” causes the page to be cut off just below those menu items.

Through plugin and theme disabling, I’ve narrowed the problem down to an incompatibility between BuddyPress and my Divi child theme.

I also learned that an incomplete page is likely due to a fatal PHP problem, so I captured the debug log – sure enough, BuddyPress PHP errors all over the place.

Unfortunately, I’m not savvy enough to know what they mean, or how to fix them.

An insight AT ALL would be appreciated.

    Looking for the right solution…

We would like to create a social community site like facebook where members have profile pages and can post videos, pictures and such. Create and join groups and get push notifications for chosen content.

    1ST PAGE – ENROLLMENT & INTRO VIDEO
    1. Three minute intro video
    2. MEMBERSHIP ENROLLMENT BUTTON:
Most important this will be a paid membership site with a pay to enter button. Emails provided in this sign up should integrate with mailchimp

    2ND PAGE- POST ENROLMENT
Once they’ve entered we would like a landing page that has
    1. A embedded live stream video player
    2. A randomized video playlist player
    3. A grid avatar list of our core contributors below these two players
    4. Tabs up top to navigate to members profiles, groups and more

we welcome your suggestions. Thank you all so much in advance

    Hello,
I think last updated caused an issue with notification system. More in details, when you publish a post and somebody comment it (or just reply to a comment), you recive a notification in the right corner, something like:

“Users X replied to one of your activity comments”

Before the last upgrade, this notification used to disappear once you read the comment. After the upgrade to 3.2.0 version the notification does not disappear anymore unless you manually mark as read.
Somebody of you noticed it as well?
    Thanks
    Tiziano
