@mercime
Participant== How to create a list of members registered with the community, a la BP Support? ==
@yidamweb that’s normal for list of members using the BP Default theme, child theme of BP Default theme or a WP theme with the BP template pack plugin.
== Currently, the image has to be cropped and is not automatically reduced to size. ==
If the image uploaded to be used as avatar is greater than 150px x 150px, then it will be cropped one way or another.

Participant@modemlooper I wanted to let you know about 2 bugs with the plugin 1: you can’t crop avatar photos after you upload them and 2: for some reason the @mentions aren’t working and then I was wondering which file I need to go into in order to add a log out button on the bar where it’s says activity, friend, etc. thanks btw I am only 14 but my dad is still technically my boss, can’t tell the difference though LOL

ParticipantI wanted to add a little more info to this post.
Checking the uploads folder, I see /group-avatars/1/group-1-avatar-name.jpg so the actual group avatars are indeed uploading to the server.
The avatars simply never show up in the normal ‘crop’ the avatar portion, nor do they show up on normal pages.
So, somewhere it is getting lost that there is actually an avatar uploaded.
*I’ve also noticed that there seems to be no way of deleting avatars that were uploaded prior. So if I keep uploading new avatars trying to get it to work, the old ones just stay on the server, orphaned, never to be deleted….

ParticipantUpdate: A caching plugin was causing the Errormessage, I disabled it and the Errormessage is gone, but still I can’t crop profile images in groups. (strangely I can crop profile images of users) All I get is the “crop image” and “preview” but I don’t see the image I just uploaded. Firebug says the image couldn’t be loaded, but I don’t have any Idea why. After this step they appear, but uncropped. Any suggetions what to try to solve this?

ParticipantThank you for your reply but a larger image doesn’t solve the problem. The final image has a worse quality than the preview image. I reported this on trac.buddypress.org.

(The original image size is 1680×1050)

ParticipantHow did you install your WP, via FTP (manually) or via webhost script? Issues crop up if you installed WordPress via fantastico, scriptalicious, etc. https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/before-installing/#system-and-server-requirements

ModeratorIt’s a completly different approach. It will work like template parts. It’s currently a custom BP-default theme. New version is like a native app

I have many things I can say that will help improve it – are you still willing to work on it?

ModeratoriOS 6 allows media uploads. So BP Album+ works. Avatar cropping won’t work until WP 3.5.

MemberAnother associated problem is that the “Please run the installation wizard” banner tries to run “page=bp-wizard” and that file, bp-wizard, is not present. Could the problem be that BP is somehow inadvertently changing permissions? I have several other sites running with no problems in a Multi-site environment. When I added a new site to run BP specifically, this threads problem cropped up.Is anyone looking at this?

@mercime
Participant@luk-gaming First, do provide a throw-away username and password to your site as you are asking for support here.
Just tested uploading and cropping an avatar with IE8 in my test installation. The upload and crop work just fine.
To troubleshoot, deactivate plugins except BuddyPress and BP Template Pack plugin then check if issue is resolved. If that doesn’t solve it, deactivate BP Template Pack plugin and change theme to bp-default theme then check if issue is resolved. .

ModeratorOn touch screens the cropper does not work. There is a fix it just hasn’t been put into core. iOS 6 is a few months away. Until then no uploads without using an external native app
