Participant@djpaul I appreciate that. It is immensely frustrating not to be able to recreate it.

Participantthank you for your answer. I’ve tried to change those files and it didn’t work.
See this link where buddypress works together with my theme:
http://mejl.cvenk.net/profil/forums/And now see this other link on my theme where buddypress isn’t fitting well:
http://mejl.cvenk.net/profil/members/josip/I fixed files like activity,members,groups and forums but I couldn’t fix files that are inside members folder like members/profile and so on.
Could you help me please, once again…
thnx:)

ModeratorI really like the strong use of colour on your site. Makes me even want you to do that more – it’s really cool. I’m wandering is there meant to be something in the sidebar though? It seems blank to me.

KeymasterIs a good idea and once we update the forums/website here, it should be possible.

@mercime
Participant@charlietech if you have custom menu enabled in Appearance > Menus and if it’s only a profile link you want and not the full set links found in the plugin, see https://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/adding-dynamic-link-to-main-menu-item/#post-130679

MemberThanks @mercime. I just updated my Sal to 1.5.1 today. I hope 1.5.2 will be coming soon and my fingers are crossed as to whether this will fix the problems. I really don’t think my issues are related to Salutation. When I revert back to the BuddyPress default, I am still experiencing the same problems. That tells me that it’s not Salutation. Not sure where to go from here except BuddyPress…but these issues are holding up my launch. Hoping for a fix soon. Q!

KeymasterYou would probably find a better answer on the wordpress.org support forums, but I’ve used WP PageNavi in the past:

@mercime
Participant@queenieb You’re right. You can have both the sitewide forums and the group forums.
As for the issue/s you’re encountering, I read that Salutation theme [edit] has been updated for BP 1.6 https://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/weird-characters-showing-instead-of-avatar-picture-on-top-bar-after-installing-1-6-update/?topic_page=2&num=15

MemberI think in my case it might be theme-related. I’m using Suffusion with Suffusion BP Pack plugin, and I saw on their forum that he’d used BP 1.5beta files. He claims an upgrade is on the way. In the meantime, I disable ‘Friends’ and am adding everyone to every group using BP Group Management plugin until the upgrade comes out. It’s half a solution, but better than redesigning from scratch.

MemberPerhaps I am not understanding what you’re saying. The codex tells me that I can have both. I followed the instructions to the letter.
I went ahead and upgraded to BuddyPress 1.6/Salutation 1.5.1/BBP 2.1.2 and my WordPress is at 3.4.1. I also copied my bb-config.php file to my wp-content folder.
I decided to fore-go the site-wide forums and just use the forums within the groups.
I’m still unable to create a new topic inside of a group. Nothing happens when I click on either of the 2 ‘New Topic’ buttons.
Also when I enter text in the “What’s New in ‘this group’?” activity box, there is no submit button and the comment just sits there.
I tested this using the buddy-press default theme as I’m hoping to get this resolved soon so that I can try it with my Salutation theme.

ParticipantThanks again R-a-y. I have it setup now and I appreciate your help. However, I still can’t figure out how to have “Community” show up as one of my Pages, so that it will appear in the top header, along with my other Pages.
How do I point my readers to the Forum?
Thanks!

Participant@mercime – yes, the terminology in the setup screen is confusing – de-activating forums when you want forums!
August 8, 2012 at 7:32 pm #138865@mercime
Participant@mairaj first and foremost backup database and server files.
There’s this info which I used late last year for one multisite installation http://wpmututorials.com/how-to/how-to-disable-multisite/ but haven’t had to use this year. To ensure whether said tutorial can be implemented for current installations, please post at https://wordpress.org/support/forum/multisite

FYI need to fix your menu community on top. Groups(Clans) and Forums don’t point to there pages.
August 8, 2012 at 5:58 pm #138854@mercime
Participant@rogercoathup FYI I had the notice in codex page for BP 1.5 forums to disable discussion forums in BP > Components since it only mentioned group forums in description. I had not done so in the new (currently being updated) page for BP 1.6 forums because I hadn’t tested whether deactivating discussion forums in current version would go awry since there was a revision which now mentioned it in re BOTH group and sitewide forums. However, since core dev has mentioned that it works above, I have now added this info for Installing Sitewide Forums only in codex for 1.6. https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/#c-set-up-sitewide-forums-only
Delete bb-config.php in root of WP install https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/#e-forums-frequently-asked-questions
