KeymasterDon’t ask for posts to be looked at, especially when they’re on another forum. We’re all busy, John included, and I sure him or another bbpress.org community member will look at your post as soon as possible.

Edward Elhauge
MemberSo what is this forum set up as? A site-wide forum or a group forum?
This forum let’s you pick a topic when you make your initial poist.
The posting in our groups says something like:

Participant@mercime What I mean by default permalink, is the default permalink proposed by BuddyPress activation wizard. That was : http://domainname.com/archives/123
I followed your instructions and I changed the permalink settings to : http://domainname.com/sample-post/
The next step I’m not sure, but I open BuddyPress Pages Settings (Pages tab) and I click the “save” button beside each page and even click on the “save all” button.
I still get the same error…

Membersame problem as tdoubleu here.
Also on “hidden” group, i received the same message “Sorry, there were no forum topics found.”
And there’s only ‘All Topics’ tab on top, while as Admin, I can see additional ‘My Topics’ tab next to it.
This occur only if i login as Member.Furthermore, when I click on ‘New Topic’,
the topic will be created, but there was error returned message: “There was an error when creating the topic”I think something wrong here.
i am using wp 3.3.1 + bp 1.5.5 and bbpress 2.0.2

Participant@verteus BuddyPress requires “pretty permalinks” which means you need to choose permalink other than the default permalink. Then go to dashboard menu BuddyPress > Pages and save Page settings assigned to BP components.

@mercime
Participant@pipetko initial scan:
a) you’re using an outdated plugin (BuddyStream);
b) jQuery 1.6.4 version is enqueued per source while WP/BP uses jQuery 1.7.1;
c) if you need assistance with the BP Album plugin, start a New Topic at plugin’s forums https://buddypress.org/community/groups/bp-album/forum/April 25, 2012 at 2:25 am #133526In reply to: “This group does not have a forum setup yet.”

Participant@abbas667 Please clarify “wordpress ver 3.2.2” is a typo? It’s actually wordpress ver 3.3.2 ? Otherwise, that’s the major blocker.

KeymasterHave you read through https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/ ?
April 24, 2012 at 5:08 pm #133493Paul Wong-Gibbs
KeymasterSomewhere between steps 1 and 2, did you go to this page -> https://mercime.files.wordpress.com/2011/11/bp-forums.gif <- and click 'Install Group Forums' ?
April 24, 2012 at 5:07 pm #133492In reply to: BP 404 subdirectory install
Paul Wong-Gibbs
KeymasterWhen you installed BuddyPress, did you do that *before* you set BP_ROOT_BLOG in your config file? I think what has happened is that your root site will have Pages created for Members, Groups, Forums, etc., but BuddyPress needs those created on the BP_ROOT_BLOG site.
Try creating new Pages on the BP_ROOT_BLOG site, and then go to the BuddyPress > Components menu in that site’s wp-admin, and map the components to a page which you’ve just created.
