The forum link I provided is a free alternative to the premium plugins available at wpmu. I have not tried the suggestions in that link, so I do not vouch for them.
Your other option is the paid route: http://premium.wpmudev.org/project/rebranding-wordpress-mu

ParticipantNope. Hate to say it, but that was one of the first things I tried. It still, even with the correct version, doesn’t work for me.

ParticipantO . M . G .
After 2 DANG DAYS of going thu EVERYTHING, i mean every dang file. I could rewrite it i’ve been thu every line of code.
I was having the VERY same problems Jugoretz was having and GUESS WHAT WAS WRONG?!?!?
WRONG VERSION!!!!
You have to use the bottom link on bbpress download site for the latest beta or alpha, RC whatever the heck it is.
https://bbpress.org/latest-rc.zip
You can’t use the “normal” release… as of this posting.
geez did i miss the versions? Did someone really already say this!?
My EASY SIMPLE FIX!
Convert it… here we go
Just nuke all the files in your /bbpres_install_dir
Leave your database file alone, it will fix them for you.
copy over the CORRECT VERSION of bbpress BETA/ALPHA/RC whatever it is now… (bottom link on download from bbpress)
visit your forum again, it’ll give you the install page again, go thu the install, i just selected the keymaster account i had setup and then hit up the settings page, the dang options they say to click ARE THERE now (go figure) and then enter in your salts it tells you what to do (simple) then…
(What i did) For the hell of it i made a new forum just to make sure… like “hi” or something…
Said ok, let’s try again (with sleepy eye’d look on my face)
when into the WPMu and checked and submitted the settings again for my keymaster account in the forum options.
Then… When straight to the groups, made me a new group and BAM it’s it in the forums, I’ve got the forum icon on the left in and an option to then off discussions…
I’ve been up like 21 hours or something, sorry if my post is WACK, but guys for about 2 days i thought i was losing my mind and what just about to give up on it all. Everything I read sounded right but didn’t work, i must of flipped the “enable wire” switch like 4000 times, geez…
Anyways, these problems are clearly people not using the ***LATEST*** version of bbpress!
wow, my head hurts.
/end of rant and rave

Is this still an issue? If so, would you please provide a link (assuming your site is not on you local server) so that we can look into this more closely.

ParticipantMy problem during last installation with bbpress alpha 6 and buddypress 1 was that all users in bbpress were set to ‘inactive’ and only bbress admin could post on bbpress via buddypress group forum – so it’s another thing to check out if you run into problems with integration…

ParticipantHello DJPaul,
My apology, if it’s the wrong forum, DJPaul.
I started using WP only because of BP — for a social network.
(I must say “re-started using”, because at a time when I wanted to run a multi-blogal site, I tried out all the softwares available, including WP, and finally settled for Nucleus).
Apart from that … One doubt.
Can one re-use an activation link without entailing an error message, enter the site concerned and login successfully? After reading your note, for a test, I tried to re-use activation links from several sites, and each of them promptly flashed an error message.

ParticipantTo add Forums to the navigation menu, here’s a basic workaround:
Go to header.php and find the section where the rest of the navigation is (it should start with this code:
<ul id=”nav”>
Add the code below (customized for your site) along with the other navigation links:
<li><a href="URL of FORUM LOCATION" title="Forums">Forums</a></li>This code needs to be between the
<ul>and</ul>tags to work. Also, remember that the navigation items are in a specific order, so put the link to the forums where you want them located. In other words, if you want the forums after the Home button, make space and put it there; if you want it after the Members button, make space and put it there. You can tell what each navigation does by the slug (e.g., BP_MEMBERS_SLUG is the Members button).
Fairly straightforward.

Inactiveup, up…

Any helping hints, please?
I have a feeling I’ve just done something wrong and that’s why i’m having these error messages…
But i’m a little bit confused because forums and groups worked fine for a while and then they don’t. I didn’t change the code expect my own theme’s css. I changed default theme back, but still not working..
And own theme worked fine before too. I got someone to look at the code and the error messages and he said something like there’s no error in the database, but I get the SQL error because the site is trying to make database query with a broken code.
now it was:
´SELECT count(id) FROM WHERE item_id = 1´
and he said it should be:
´SELECT count(id) FROM <TABLE_NAME> WHERE item_id = 1´
He also said that some variable that has that table’s name is missing… Or something like that.
I’m not very familiar with SQL so… and know only php basics…

ParticipantNo Response. Maybe wrong forum again.
Can someone tell me which file contains the Registration Form input items?
Is it a BP file or WP file?

Keymaster1) wrong forum – this is nothing to do with buddypress
2) I think you get that message if a logged in user visits wp-activate.php or follows the email reactivation link a second time.
