    Why you start new thread for exact same question as before you?!
    ( https://buddypress.org/support/topic/has-anyone-figured-out-how-to-use-optimize-press-2-and-bp-site-tracking/ )

    maybe delve into searching the forums..

    similar questions and answers 4 days ago -https://buddypress.org/support/topic/post-comments-not-appearing-in-activity-stream/

    or point your optimize press to search the forums and codex here and find the fix if you can’t figure it out.

    I don’t think you will find a lot of help here with a premium theme and it’s specific issues. Especially since there has been no new information provided.

    @iseestarz

    Activity wall – Yes – in core.
    all members chat – private user to user email like messages in core. Chat rooms with plugins like “quick chat” – so yes
    sleek custom profiles for members, -hard to tell what is “sleek” – custom? for each member? There are a couple of plugins that played with this – not sure how they work, if they’ve been updated lately.. modding how all profiles look to make them “sleeker” than default 2015 – theme – possible..

    a paid membership option – that would be a plugin.. there are several that get into that.. s2member, paid memberships pro, ultimate member maybe? Some options from wpmudev as well I think.

    A way to let paid members make their own post/articles on the homepage – hmmm.. maybe prevent non paid members from even creating a blog.. or you mean any activity posts on home page – I think these things are possible.. BP recently added “user levels” but I have not see much actually use that.. but extending this should be easy to some degree..

    However if your focus is on paid members things, and you will need support to put all this together and keep it running (you are not a php coder with lots of time to read codex and test things) – then developing around BP is likely to get expensive, and you might be better off forgetting bp exists and looking at some of the more premium systems others have put together around wordpress (a few wpmudev plugins combined achieve what you describe without needing BP) – and there are others..

    Of course you don’t have to look for such a system revolving around wordpress either – there are more mature social network options that may save you time and sanity – things like phpfox, boonex dolphin, oxwall..

    random thoughts from a bp user.. I’m not a dev and have not tested all the things out there that get into paid members things and restrictions.. if you search the forums here there have been a few comments from others pointing to some other similar plugin options – and some people have pointed out troubles with some of those on the market.

    This is the BP support site.
    The bbPress support site is here.

    Have you tried https://wordpress.org/plugins/gd-bbpress-attachments/ ?

    …euh…read through the code, find some dev comments and try to get further… ?

    I tried to answer to your question: only looking to basically take the favorites button and modify the function. Both files contain functions related to “favorite”.

    Though it would be more clear to all of us if you explain precisely what you’re trying to achive ? Instead of trying to explain (awkwardly) what you imagine may work, give details about what you try to do and code you used to do that.

    You say you create a function you want to add to favorite button. But this button should not favorite something, but either mimic is_span, but without using is_span !!!

    Sounds like if you asked for how to make beer, but without water to get a milk flavour.

    Please, make explicit questions !

    bbpress sitewide forum.

    oh right, forget to mention it, when i mention a member in a forum topic, i do not get mention suggestions when typing a letter or two.

    same thing here when i are typing in the buddypress.org reply editor, when i do @danbp, i dont get @ suggestions.

    @danbp
    , i have mentioned you in this reply, do you get notification saying i mentioned you?

    hum… something is unclear. Which type of forum do you use ? Site wide forum, group forum or even both ? Also, when you mention a member in a topic, do you get mention suggestions when typing @ a letter or two ?

    Hi @danbp,

    i have tried on other default wordpress theme, the mentioned users notification does not work on any of them.
    i actually checked the notifications page, there has no notification for the mentioned action. so i dont think it might be a theme related issue. it seems like the notification event is not recorded in DB.

    so to recap of what works and what does work:

    the notification does not work if I mention someone in forum reply or in a forum topic.
    Notification works for when i mention someone in buddypress activity streams.

    Hallo @ubbegubben,

    if you use bbPress, you’ve better chance for answers on their support forum.

    I’m not sure what the “provider user identifier” is? If it’s something in WordPress Social Login, try asking the question over at their support forum. They should be up to speed on it.

    okay, i tried the following:

    tag user in BuddyPress Activity, user could receive notification
    tag user in bbpress forum post/comment, user could not receive notification

    it seems like tagging user in forum does trigger notification, can anyone here confirm if this is expected behaviour?

    if i want to trigger notification when user is tagged in forum post/comment, what should i do? thanks

    1. Search Engine Visibility should stay unchecked. See your-site/wp-admin/options-reading.php
    2. Allow people to post comments on new articles: should be checked
      (These settings may be overridden for individual articles.) -> could be set to of by default on some themes. Posts directory > Choose Post > Quick edit > Allow comments. See your-site/wp-admin/options-discussion.php
    3. Site Tracking should be checked. BP Settings > components
    4. Blog & Forum Comments should be checked. BP Settings > settings

    If you’re testing a fresh BP install, add some content so you’ll see how it’s displayed. BP Default Data plugin is ideal for this.

    Hi @muskokee,
    BP nav menu code is in bp-core-template.php:3050 to EOF.

    To change the position of an item on profiles page, use this from within bp-custom.php
    Position is defined by the numeric value:

    function bpfr_profile_menu_tab_pos(){
    global $bp;
    $bp->bp_nav['activity']['position'] = 30;
    $bp->bp_nav['forums']['position'] = 50;
    $bp->bp_nav['profile']['position'] = 25;
    $bp->bp_nav['messages']['position'] = 10;
    $bp->bp_nav['notifications']['position'] = 40;
    $bp->bp_nav['friends']['position'] = 20;
    $bp->bp_nav['groups']['position'] = 60;
    }
    add_action('bp_setup_nav', 'bpfr_profile_menu_tab_pos', 100);

    You can also add some condition on the template. Ie

    if ( is_user_logged_in() ) :
       your custom menu stuff
    else
       something for non logged user
    endif;

    I’ve found it.

    The BBPress plugin ‘Forum Restrict’ conflicts with BuddyPress Profile pic uploads. If you install ‘Forum Restrict’ it will break BuddyPress profile picture uploads.

    Hi all,

    I just started working on a production site, with latest wordpress and buddypress installed, but can’t quite figure out why post comments do not appear in activity stream. I have search indexing and allow activity stream commenting on blog and forum posts enabled, but nothing happens. Well, everything else works just beautifuly, except that minor or major issue, lol. πŸ™‚

    Any ideas?

    wordpress: 4.2.4
    buddypress: 2.3.2.1
    theme: mesocolumn
    site: beta.karierist.si

    Your help would be much appreciated, thanks. πŸ™‚

    1. Which forum are you using? If you migrated your forum content to bbPress, you’d have one login shared across both your forum and your (WordPress) website. Is that an option you’d consider?

    @chevalhack
    , of course it is ! This forum is installed on WP 4.3. What is not working… do you see warnings or notice ? Give details please !

    @toggerybob
    , seems it’s your membership plugin who brings these warnings.
    If it is Memberhip 2, it was updated today.

    BuddyPress use bbPress when you allow group forums.
    If the group is private, the attached forum is also hidden ton non members of that group. Same for public or private groups.

    You don’t have to change the group forum setting in the forum list.
    The right steps
    Create a group A
    A is set to private
    Allow a forum for A
    —— The wrong step ——–
    Going to dashboard forum admin, and set forum A to private. If you do this nobody will see it except site admin.

    @be-sting, the forum is a separate plugin (usually)bbPress. You can use their support.

    If you don’t see the problem with TwentyFifteen activated, the problem is likely to be theme-related and, One Community being a premium theme, none of us here can see the theme’s code. Try opening a support ticket on the theme’s support forum.
