    On a multisite install, as @pcwriter stated here : https://buddypress.org/support/topic/user-marked-as-spammer-how-do-i-un-mark-them-as-a-spammer/

    In your WP dashboard, go to “Users” and check the box next to the name of the user highlighted in red. Then, select “Not Spam” from the “Bulk Actions” dropdown (top or bottom of your user list). Click “Apply”. Should do it.

    It worked for me! Until when?

    Also, Vince Pettit suggested a plugin here https://wordpress.stackexchange.com/a/60583/152860

    We are using this wordpress plug in – New User Approve

    Provides functionality to approve/deny new user registrations.

    Haven’t tried it yet, but it’s probably the best long-term solution.

    Thanks @vapvarun.

    I deactivated WP Better Emails and BP registration options and now mails go out fine, it seems. I haven’t had any new registrations yet, though.

    Will investigate more, when I have time, but I don’t think it is a Buddypress problem.

    I think it is a compatibility issure with Buddypress Registration Options.

    I have bbpress and buddypress installed the buddypress community is restricted to registered user and had group forums. But I would like the other bbpress forums to be visible and available without registration I set the anonymous option to on but the forms are still only visible to loggged in users.
    Any ideas.

    I created a fresh install of WordPress, removed all themes except TwentyTwenty and all default plugins. Installed Buddypress from the WP repository. Activated. This is a fresh install set up to troubleshoot this Buddypress problem in another install.

    I can add users in the backend. If BP is disabled, users can register using the default registration.

    No WP errors are created or logged. A single proxy error is thrown. Noted below with real domain masked.

    Any suggestions?

    hello,
    i am currently working on a website that is using buddypress plugin and i am getting thousands of email on daily basis of spam user registration.
    link: https://www.fbia.org.au/register/
    wordpress version: Version 5.5.3
    buddypress Version 6.4.0
    parent theme: omega
    child theme DeliciousVersion: 0.1.2 (currently install)

    i have applied the following methods
    i) install wp zero spam (it has to blocked the spam user)
    ii) install the (Advanced noCaptcha & invisible captcha) captcha is working but spams are bypassing it.
    iii) install the (BuddyPress reCAPTCHA), its not updated on latest 3 versions of wordpress not working.
    iv) install a third party plugin(Pixel Jar BuddyPress Honeypot) not working.
    v) install (Spam Destroyer) not working, it also just blocking, not a permeant solution
    vi) install (Wordfence Security) to scan the website, not found any serious error.
    vii) got a plugin (wangguard) from forums answers, but not working on latest wordpress versions.
    viii) install (BuddyPress Security Check), not working just because of latest updates of wordpress.

    so can you at-least tell me the permeant solution for this.

    Hi,

    I have a buddy press registration page on my site. Upon registration I can see the user info in wp_users table but no email goes out. For email I have configured WP Mail SMTP Pro and AWS Simple Mail Service (SES). The test email from WP Mail SMTP Pro works fine.

    After researching the issue, I found that other people had similar issues and this post helped resolve it https://ast.io/html-emails-buddypress-bbpress/. But in my case it did not help. After applying the suggestions in the post I am getting the following errors. Note that I am using WordPress: 5.4.4 and BuddyPress: 6.2.0.

    What am I missing?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    I’m using Buddypress as part of my websites and Mailster Newsletter Plugin to send newsletters. Mailster is offering a registration checkbox for the WordPress Registration form, but not for Buddypress registration. I thought, that it should appear anyway because the left part of the buddypress registration is coming from WordPress. But this is not the case.
    Is there any chance to get the Mailster checkbox into the buddypress registration without coding (as I’m no programmer) or would I have to hire a programmer for that?
    Thanks for your help!

    Since you are using the Gravity Forms User Registration Add-On, a premium plugin, you should ask them about the method by which it integrates with BP.

    Hi,

    I’m having issues getting the emails to send via Buddypress. I’m using ‘Gravity Forms User Registration Add-On’ to register the members, but after signing up the member does not receive a welcome email where they can activate their account even though there is an emails template for that under “emails”.

    Hello,
    i hope someone can help me because i am driving myself crazy at this point. im fairly new to wordpress and thought that i would give it a shot to try and have the themes custom post “video” show up in the activity stream as well as merge their comments. finding this link in the codex, https://codex.buddypress.org/plugindev/post-types-activities/

    i managed to have this in my bp-custom.php

     function customize_page_tracking_args() {

        if ( ! bp_is_active( 'activity' ) ) {
            return;
        }

        add_post_type_support( 'video', 'buddypress-activity' );

        bp_activity_set_post_type_tracking_args( 'video', array(
            'action_id'                         => 'new_video',
            'bp_activity_admin_filter'          => __( 'Published a new video', 'custom-textdomain' ),
            'bp_activity_front_filter'          => __( 'Video', 'custom-textdomain' ),
            'bp_activity_new_post'              => __( '%1$s posted a new <a href="%2$s">video</a>', 'custom-textdomain' ),
            'bp_activity_new_post_ms'           => __( '%1$s posted a new <a href="%2$s">video</a>, on the site %3$s', 'custom-textdomain' ),
            'contexts' => array( 'activity', 'member' ),
            'comment_action_id'                 => 'new_video_comment',
            'bp_activity_comments_admin_filter' => __( 'Commented a video', 'custom-textdomain' ),
            'bp_activity_comments_front_filter' => __( 'Video Comments', 'custom-textdomain' ),
            'bp_activity_new_comment'           => __( '%1$s commented on the <a href="%2$s">video</a>', 'custom-textdomain' ),
            'bp_activity_new_comment_ms'        => __( '%1$s commented on the <a href="%2$s">video</a>, on the site %3$s', 'custom-textdomain' ),
            'position'                          => 100,
        ) );

    }
    add_action( 'bp_init', 'customize_page_tracking_args' );

    now only some of the activity shows up as there is no thumbnail image or a comment button. i might have misunderstood but i thought this would be all i needed. also i have alread enabled site tracking, indexing and allowed comments everywhere.

    here is the themes cpt registration where var $post_type = ‘video’;:

    	function register() {

    			register_post_type( $this->post_type, array(

    You can just create empty pages and assign yourself, to test they have worked you will need to use another browser or logout as the registration page won’t appear if you are already signed in.

    Thanks for the reply Shane,

    I did tick the box anyone can register before I installed the theme.

    It just didnt create those 2 sites (activation; registration) but did create other sites tho.

    I really dont know if I should just manually create those and assign them to BuddyPress or try to delete everything and reinstall the theme, which wouldnt be a guranteed way to get those sites automatically…

    If you have any alternatives Shane I would love to hear them thank you for your time anyway.

    How can I sand standard Email confirmation by BuddyPress?

    Hello,

    BuddyPress Activation and Registration Sites are missing ?

    I use the “eduma” theme with a BuddyPress plugin, and the Activation and Registration Sites are missing ?

    Shouldt those be setup automatically ?

    And if not how can create or fix this problem?

    This a Link to see whats it says : https://imgur.com/2KanI2Y

    If I click repair it wont do anything.

    Maybe I am just a stupid person but I dont how it would be creating an Activiation and Registration site manually, because the rest was created with the theme automatically.

    If there is a way to fully delete the site and reinstall the theme “freshly” I would do that.

    Thank you for the time and patience guys
