Heh that’s BuddyPress. That’s what popped up when I installed and activated the plugin. I’m sure the theme has hijacked some stuff. I’ll check in with the designers.
Thanks!
I did try rtMedia and it didn’t do anything. I can ask the company that made the theme. They may be able to point me in the right direction, because I do suspect that this is a theme issue.
Thanks for helping me see that. I appreciate your time.
BuddyPress does not provide a media directory, never has. My best guess, is that your theme has an integration with a media plugin, probably rtMedia, and if you install the right one, you’ll get options to make your own galleries. but it still would not include your activity post media in there as BuddyPress is in control of those items.
Definitely no plugin. I installed BuddyPress, and that’s what it looked like out of the box.
I’m using a theme called Magnolia, which is built on Genesis I believe.

I don’t know if that’s helpful.
Looks like a plugin to me, what theme are you using?

So, this is the activity feed. In looking at screenshots, I’m noticing that mine is lacking some navigational tabs/links. And there is no “upload” button on the Media tab, which is described by rtMedia’s site (I just installed it to see if it would do anything, and it doesn’t).
I’m wondering if there is some theme-specific thing that is suppressing certain elements. That’s… way over my head, unfortunately. I suppose I’ll just hide the tab and call it a day.
Hello everyone, I have a problem with sending the friend request. When a user sends the friend request to another member, whoever receives the friend request does not have the button to accept it. I’ve tried changing the theme and disabling all plugins but it doesn’t work. So I think it’s a buddypress update issue. Thank you
What are the benefits of adding FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) to the home page of a WordPress theme, and how can they improve the user experience?
WordPress version 6.1.1
BuddyPress version 11.1.0.
theme : Kleo
I have a question about displaying items (field) of members in a group.
I have a group directory where all my groups are displayed and all the single group page are created.
On a single group page, all the members in the group are displayed too.
On this specific page, for one member is displayed his avatar, his nice name and his activity.
I would to display another field like profession for example.
Is it possible ? By programming or plugin.
Thank you for your answer.
I have the same problem after the registration i get no message only a blanc box! Can this be fixed with some code?
Where in the code i can find the piece what is responsible for this behaviour.
I use the

Another question if this have been solved, Can the message after registration changed to a other message?

Hey, suddenly the Featured image-function doesn’t work. When I add a new post and want to add the featured image and the media library-frame shows it selects an empty image. If I choose another image nothings happens. If I upload a new image it uploads correct and but it doesn’t appear in the Featured Image.
If I deactive BuddyPress it works 100% again and when I activate it the same problem appears again.

I think it happened when I updated WordPressa few weeks ago. Ofc I tried to reinstall Buddypress, reinstall WordPress etc.
Any idea? Thanks!
Oh, and I can upload files to the media library. It’s only the featured image-function…
I’m having issues too. I contacted Elementor for support. They confirmed the conflict between Buddypress and Elementor but refused to fix it saying it was an third party (Buddypress) problem and not theirs. (I already submitted a ticket to BP but haven’t had a response yet.)
And just like you – it doesn’t matter which theme I use because my Elementor built Buddypress login/registration template/page still won’t work as long as Buddypress is enabled. I can’t even open the template to edit it as long as Buddypress is enabled.
I’m following your ticket here to see it will help bring attention to BP devs to fix this problem.
Still unable to open my Elementor built Buddypress login/registration form when Buddypress is enabled. I disabled everything else on my site except Buddypress and ELementor (disabled Elementor Pro) and even changed themes and still cannot get the edit template to open and the login/registration will not work when both Elementor and Buddypress are enabled. I’ve already contacted Elementor and they refuse to fix this because they say it’s a Buddypress problem and not an Elementor problem.
I even downloaded a previous version of Buddypress thinking maybe it was due to the recent update of 11.1.0 but I’m still unable to get it to work with Buddypress version 10.6.0.
I’d really appreciate a response from someone – ANYONE – to let me know if you’re even reading this. Last time I submitted a ticket was 6 months ago and I never got a response from BP. Does anyone work on this at all?
We have been adding new members and it is no longer showing the activity feed. It used to show each time a new member was added.
Also, when we approve a new member, they are still showing under the Admin Approval tab on the backend. They show approved, but they still show under the approval tab. Once approved they used to disappear from this tab.
We are using BuddyPress 11.1 and Reign Theme with Elementor 3.12.1. I have tried disabling this theme and using the Twenty Twenty-Three theme but still had the same issue.
I found the problem, just have to join the group first but in my theme, the join window is missing.
This might be a bug in the BuddyPress Docs plugin which adds collaborative workspaces to your BuddyPress community. You can try to deactivate and delete the plugin from your WordPress dashboard and see if that solves the problem.
Alternatively, you can also try to completely delete, reset or reinstall BuddyPress by following these steps:
1/ Change to another theme than BuddyPress. 2/ Deactivate BuddyPress plugin. 3/ Delete it from Network admin (and make sure it exists no more in the directory). 4/ Deleting wp-bp tables.
@katehobson, after several years of using Elementor, I’ve found that they tend to have an elitist attitude towards any theme or plugin that conflicts with theirs and always expect the third party to conform to their plugin as opposed to vice versa. Their suggestion to me was to contact Buddypress for support instead since they viewed it as a Buddypress problem and not an Elementor problem. I knew that was likely going to be their response and now I’m kicking myself for wasting over 24 hours waiting on them to forward my ticket to their Tier 2 team for the Tier 2 team only to tell me that they weren’t going to help me. I should have just contacted Buddypress immediately with my problem – not that BP is fast to respond at all. Case in point, I submitted a ticket to the BP support forum 6 months ago that still hasn’t been replied to. If this next ticket doesn’t get resolution much faster, I may be searching for an alternative to BP since this is hurting my website and is bad for business. I need something that works more consistently with better customer service. SMH… This may be one of those cases where you get what you pay for.
Thanks for this info, @coralbeauty. That’s interesting. I also use Elementor and have noticed it behaving oddly lately (taking a long time to load pages to edit or not loading at all). However, if i leave Elementor active and change theme, my members profile pages and registration page appear again (suggesting that for me it is an Astra problem). I’m pretty sure i tried deactivating Elementor and the problem remained with the newer version of Astra.
Did Elementor offer any solutions from their side?
I have issues with Buddypress not working on all of my sites. I have Astra Pro and use Elementor to build my pages. After troubleshooting, the conflict was definitely between Buddypress and Elementor and not Astra. It didn’t matter which theme I switched to, when Buddypress and Elementor were the only two plugins activated on my website, my custom built Elementor login page would break and the edit screen would only attempt to load in safe mode (if at all). When Buddypress was deactivated, the page was editable again. I confirmed this with Tier 2 support at Elementor today but since they view this as a Buddypress problem and not an Elementor problem (as usual), they refused to assist in repairing it.
I’m using Buddypress version 11.1.0
The website’s broken login page is https://extremechickens.com/login-registration/.
It should, however, look like this: https://snipboard.io/TrJS0h.jpg

Hi,
I just upgraded to Astra 4.1.2 and it seems like the members directory can not be shown. Only the page title is displayed.
If i switch to my old theme (twentyfifteen) the members directory shows up again.

I have the same problem after updating the Astra theme. What causes this problem and how to fix it?
How can I roll back the Astra theme to the previous version?
Hi,
I am also experiencing errors when sending a reply. I can confirm that for me the original message in this thread was present in 11.0.0 and no longer occurs.
However when I want to reply to a message that works when I navigate from the messages overview to a specific thread. When I refresh the thread page (i.e. <url>/members/demo/messages/view/1/) and try to send a reply, buddypress-message.min.js throws the following exception:
Uncaught TypeError: e.has is not a function
I tested it on a clean wordpress install without plugins with the theme twentytweny.
The version is 11.1.0.
