InactiveWhat version WP & BP are you using? What theme are you using? Is it a child theme or did you use the buddypress template pack plugin with a wordpress theme? It will be easier to get help when you provide the mentioned information!

Participant@mercime false alarm, a couple other things were not correct so I started from scratch and now the issue is solved… I do have another issue though that seems to be the ONLY thing wrong now(thank god). When looking at a member’s profile, when you press the “view” link next to their status beside their Avatar. In the linked page, the primary menu(on the left side of the screen) is blocking the members Avatar and part of their status. In this link you will be able to see what i am describing

Do you know a way or what file I need to modify to align this properly so the menu does not interfere?

Participant== But what I don’t understand is that it doesn’t look like the group forums were ever created, even though I had the box checked. ==
Check your database if the 7 bbp_ tables were created https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/#bbpress-forums-tables-in-database
In addition, basic troubleshooting would involve changing to bp-default theme and deactivating all plugins except BuddyPress.

Participant@mrharris That’s strange. Have you created any bp-custom.php and added a privacy/restrict function where instead of `!is_site_admin`, you posted `is_site_admin`? Are you using the BP Default theme? Did you try deactivating all plugins except BuddyPress?

ParticipantI updated the theme from Streamline v1 to v2.0. I’ve updated a few plugins as well. I’d have to go back through my notes for all the changes.
But what I don’t understand is that it doesn’t look like the group forums were ever created, even though I had the box checked. And unchecking and rechecking the forums box does nothing. Are they all corrupt?
I also noticed that while debugging this that a bunch of blank groups were created. I’ll try that again and get a screenshot.
I’m hoping for a workaround that involves rebuilding the database, not re-entering 200 groups manually.
thanks!

Participant@guitaragora double-check in Appearance > BP compatibility that you did Not disable JS, otherwise there’ll be issues like you mentioned above.

Participant== Except plugins. Their pages are not loading the ‘wordpress theme’ in the same way the main buddypress pages are,and I am having trouble getting them to work correct. ==
@fuzylogiq Some BP plugins have their own template files patterned after the bp-default theme. Usually you would transfer said plugin template files/folder into your own active theme. Then open up each plugin template file and superimpose the HTML structure of your theme onto each plugin template.

Participant== I am using the Kaboodle Labzip theme. ==
@obsidianmarketing based on what I’ve seen on theme’s author’s site, Kaboodle parent theme has support for BP, bbPress and WooCommerce. You should post inquiries about the theme with the theme author.
== have wordpress installed in a sub-directory and I did not do a manual install – I used fantastico. ==
And therein lies the problem. If you’re going to use BuddyPress, do a manual installation as there have been hiccups with webhost scripts https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/before-installing/#system-and-server-requirements

@mercime
Participant@hotmark Which forum are you referring to – Sitewide Forums or Group Forums? What theme are you using? Site URL?
== Is there an option somewhere that sets the main Forum layout? ==
Depends on the theme.September 25, 2012 at 3:53 pm #142428In reply to: username limitations and red boxes
@mercime
ParticipantHaven’t seen this. Are you using the bp-default theme? Do your have any registration plugin activated?
September 24, 2012 at 8:39 pm #142369GuitarAgora
Participant@mercime my site is live and running very smooth but did noticed a couple very small things… Lets say someone tries to add me as a friend, I can see the “Cancel Friendship Request” button but I can not see any “Accept Friendship Request” button. Is this a problem you have ran into before and if so, do you know of a solution. I have been searching the forums but have not found a problem or solution related to my situation in particular.

ParticipantNo you needed the opening php tag the error occurred as you then started php once again on line ten without having closed out php first. So you could have either have removed opening php tag on line ten or kept it and closed out php after the PHPdocs stuff */ ?>

ParticipantHi.
This is the activity/index.php page http://pastebin.com/PkHZdQ3K I can see there is an extra <?php at the top so I have removed it. and this is what I get http://www.christianinspire.net/activity/
I am guessing the `/** * Template Name: BuddyPress – Activity Directory * * @package BuddyPress * @subpackage Theme */` needs removing but also the css code needs adding to style.css but when i look for
`/ > BuddyPress Component Finishing Styles
*/ `it is not in the css file.
Any ideas?

ParticipantYou will need to show a few lines before that line number as the error doesn’t actually occur on that line that is just where php first finds , due to the error, it can’t progress cleanly. You will likely have an additional stray closing php tag.
